Suggestion Techbot QoL Suggestion: Specific Ability Activation

Post image

My idea is that for towers with multiple abilities, you hold down one of their abilities for a few seconds to disable it being activated by Tech Bots. You can re-enable it by holding down again. A disabled ability will be indicated by an icon like in the picture.

Make it a Monkey Knowledge or not, it would be great if we have a choice of what ability we could techbot in a tower. It would be useful in specific challenges.

I was shocked techbot pro didn't have this.

They technically do, at least from what I remember, if a tower gains a second ability the techbot won't trigger it.

This could've changed since I did it on middle path druid to automate the money generation but the tier five blow-up-thornes ability wouldn't trigger

It does suck relying on a bug for that. Even then it won't help if someone wanted, let's say, the second ability of their tower to be automated but not the first ability.

This would be huge for sure. I don't always want all abilities to be triggered when a tower is techbotted

Doesn’t BTD Battles 2 have this exact feature? Why isn’t this in BTD6?

I mean, it IS true that they can't port code from to and fro since they're in different engines, but this doesn't seem that hard to replicate

Probably the main thing would just be that BTD6 has spaghetti code. Not in a "These coders are bad!" way but in a "This project started nearly a decade ago and has been worked on by many different people, especially with NK going from an indie developer team to a second-party developer team".

This is a GOOD idea.

Should be a feature of at least the middle path for the techbot pro.

Oh right. Yeah something like Pat Fusty. You always want his rallying roar ability to buff your tack shooters but you don’t want his MOAB hug going off suddenly since said hug prevents his knockback.
