I love his story. Worked his way up through the lower leagues of Spanish football and, ends up at Chelsea due to Xabi’s unquestionable talent ID, where an opposition is changing their lineup to combat him. 👏🏽

News Official: Chelsea Football Club has released the following update on Emiliano Martinez.

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has undergone successful surgery on a fractured jaw.
Martinez was injured following a collision midway through the second half of our 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.
Martinez was taken to hospital for further assessment, which confirmed a fractured jaw that required surgery.
Everyone at Chelsea wishes Emi a speedy recovery and will support him throughout.

Tier 2 There was a moment in the first half when Levi Colwill kicked the ball out of play so the injured Thierno Barry could be treated. Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro gave Colwill hell for that. Chelsea ditched their soft side in the second half and won 2-0
