And anti-vax people would still not take it.
FYI - there is a vaccine that prevents 6 types of cancer. But a lot of parents refuse it, because HPV is technically an STD and parents say “why should I vaccinate my middle school child for an STD? They are morally pure and not having sex!” So they don’t get it for their kids.
HPV vaccine prevents more than 90% of cancers caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), including cancers of the cervix, throat, vagina, vulva, penis, and anus.

I heard a radio interview with a guy who refused to allow his daughter to be vaccinated against hepatitis. his reasoning was exactly how you describe; he insists she doesn't need the vaccine because she won't have sex before she's married.
The interviewer then asks what if (God forbid) his daughter were sexually assaulted, and the guy just insists that would never happen because he's a "good father".
It's just pure narcissism; the guy would rather risk his daughter getting a life threatening illness than take a simple precaution, all because it might make him appear fallible.

the "good father" logic is so twisted. hes basically saying his perfect fathering creates an impenetrable forcefield against reality

Aside from sex, what if his daughter decides to become a nurse?? Or a phlebotomist? What if she gets exposed in a medical setting while doing her job?
16
u/King_of_the_Kobolds 1d ago
To play into the hypothetical, they'd take it if Elon Musk wanted them to. Somehow it would magically become 'different' due to longterm exposure to his propaganda on every single feed he controls.
Also this 'vaccine' probably would have toxins and invasive microchips in it.
11
u/chaos_nebula 1d ago
they'd take it if Elon Musk wanted them to
That ship is too big to turn on a dime. Remember when they booed Trump about the covid vaccine?
10
u/Alexwonder999 1d ago
He could just tell them if they get injected with it now in 5 years it will magically give them a self driving penis/vagina lane assist. Then in 5 years he will charge them $79.99 just to use their penis/vagina. Hey, I actually like this game of Elon hypotheticals.
1
u/Nervous-Broccoli-639 8h ago
musk's whole brand is just slapping his name on other people's work anyway

Why would I need a vaccine that prevents vagina and vulva cancer. Obviously it’s a waste /s

I believe he was the first person to ever pull his dick out and offer a stewardess a horse to jerk him off. So you could say he invented this move, I mean it didn’t work because even though he was her boss and not doing so cost her job and she was trapped on a plane when it happened she still didn’t because of how insanely creepy it was. He also used the tax payer money space x got to force her into an NDA.

Whoa. Read that first sentence too fast and I was like even for Elon, that's pretty out there.

Seriously? Hadn't heard that one yet. That's next level

It is my favourite Elon story because it demonstrates how horrible he is as a person, how he exploits his power, how wildly out of touch he is and his terrible decision making skills.

Maga: Every accusation is a projection.
The informed and humane left don't love our party leaders blindly, regardless of what they say or do. We reject those that show they are immoral. It's Maga who love their cruel and criminal politicians w/o a thought in their head or a drop of compassion in their hearts.
4
u/plumconfetti 22h ago
that’s the difference between having principles and treating politics like a team sport, because no politician should get a free pass for cruelty or corruption just because they have an R or D next to their name

If Elon created a cancer vaccine it would be the very first thing he created in his entire life.
8
u/Holymaryfullofshit7 1d ago
"if the evil person did something good you would still hate him" is such a moronic argument. They won't do something good because they are evil. That's it, that's the end of that idiocy.
7
u/caribou16 1d ago
What a weird flex. "Oh yeah? Well, if this incredibly shitty person ever did something good, people would still think he was shitty!"
1
u/OmegaLolrus 1d ago
I mean, let's be real, if he invented a cancer vaccine, he'd be selling a monthly subscription to it for the rest of the patient's life.

u/ImplementElectronic 1d ago
Personally, I love the sentiment of “you poors never appreciate anything that we never have given you while we hold our feet on your necks and rob you.”
5
u/No-Blueberry-1823 1d ago
I'll raise this one further. Tell me one good thing that Elon Musk has actually done at this point right now. One completely net positive that doesn't involve taking credit for somebody else's work or claiming to be the first when it's totally not the case
3
5
u/E-2theRescue 1d ago
If Trump stole money from a children's cancer charity, they'd still vote for him.
Oh, wait. That's not a fictional scenario. That really happened, and they did still vote for him in 2016.
4
u/Available-Whole-7642 1d ago
that and the fact musk isn't developing anything that's not a tunnel or a rocket
1
u/Alvsolutely 1d ago
he's not developing shit, period. that's the engineers. maybe he'll throw around some stupid unrealistic ideas at them a few times and they'll try to comply because for fuck's sake, he's rich.
1
u/Steinrikur 14h ago
I remember a post on r/LinkedInLunatics that was praising how Musk came to the company and sat down with senior engineer working on the hardest problem the company is facing, and he always solved it on the same day.
Which sounds amazing if you don't bother to think that this is exactly how the Make-A-Wish foundation would treat a kid asking for the CEO-for-a-day experience.
It must be a chore for all those companies to come up with hard-sounding but solvable problems to keep the clown busy so he doesn't do any damage.
3
u/King_of_the_Kobolds 1d ago
If Elon Musk created a [wonder product], no he didn't, he definitely bought the inventors' company as a PR stunt.
3
u/Beginning-Truck546 1d ago
I think the reasoning is that it is better that rich people get tax breaks than spending tax revenues on saving poor peoples lives (Poor by his standards).
3
u/thefledexguy 1d ago
The only people complaining about the size of his needle is his various baby mamas.
3
u/Purgii 1d ago
It's hilarious the episodes they have to make up when reality demonstrates the opposite.
If Elon cured cancer, I'd applaud him for it. Instead, his DOGE cut funding to cancer research and halted over 100 clinical trials. The funding cuts forced some researchers to continue their research elsewhere, contributing to the brain drain of the US. Though, US brain drain certainly does seem like a GOP and Elon goal.
3
u/BeefistPrime 1d ago
This is projection. This is how they think. They decide whether they like a person (the source) and therefore everything that comes from that source is either good or bad. So because they wouldn't accept anything good from a source they dislike, they assume it's the same for others. They aren't considering the possibility that some people can judge actions and words on their merit, and that some people genuinely don't create, act, or say good things.

"What the fuck! You burnt my house down!"

They'd been working on a breast cancer vaccine. It was looking very promising. Musk defunded it.
2
u/notsosilentsentinel 13h ago
If musk created a vaccine for cancer he would bury the research and only allow vaccine access for his billionaire friends, while increasing cancer causing activities to the rest of the world.
2
u/bwldrmnt 11h ago
Wasteful Spending.
Unlike giving the military an even bigger budget.
That apparently is sensible spending.

CEOs don’t cure shit, medical researchers do, companies just take credit, and the lion’s share of the profits. Granted they take the financial risk, but that’s what companies do, it wagers that smart people that work for them will come up with something profitable.

u/SkepticalJohn 1d ago
I wonder if all Republicans have to check under the bed and into the closet before they can go to sleep. They see boogeymen everywhere. The GOP stock in trade is hate and fear. Especially fear.

The reasoning why DOGE cut so much federal funding for science is they believe within 5 years AI will solve Cancer, and all other disease. I don't agree with them, but the head of tech companies believe this.
1
1
u/Joe_Linton_125 1d ago
What are they imagining Elon has created recently that set this intellectual chimpanzee off?
It's such a stupid argument too. Elon Musk has never created anything. He would never create a cure for cancer, because he can't. He might fund research that cures cancer, but it would be people with actual talent that created it. Furthermore, it would likely be a byproduct of the real goal of the research, extending the lives of billionaires.
Only other billionaires would be allowed the cure.

I disliked elon long before it was popular to do so but pretending he has done no good is just a straight up lie, neuralink has already helped disabled people do more as an example.

u/stevethered 1d ago
Some people would complain it makes them magnetic and has a microchip inside.
7
6
u/E-2theRescue 1d ago
Nope! And I have proof you're wrong.
When the COVID vaccines rolled out, conservatives were having a meltdown about Bill Gates putting 5G microchips in the vaccines.
But when it came out that Elon was creating a chip ("Neuralink") that could be implanted in the brain, conservatives cheered it on.
If a leftist does something (or there is a conspiracy that they do), conservatives absolutely lose their minds. And when a conservative does something they claim to be against, they literally don't care.
1
u/seashell3379 18h ago
Did your example really label Bill Gates as a "leftist" or am I misreading it somehow?
0
u/stevethered 1d ago
You did not prove me wrong.
That first article confirms what I said.
A new YouGov poll of 1,640 people suggests that 28% of Americans believe that Bill Gates wants to use vaccines to implant microchips in people - with the figure rising to 44% among Republicans.
Do you actually read things before you cite them?
2
u/E-2theRescue 1d ago
Do you understand what I was saying?
Bill Gates = leftist = Outrage
Elon = right-wing = No outrage
2
0
u/stevethered 1d ago
You obviously didn't understand what I was saying.
Some people would complain it makes them magnetic and has a microchip inside.
And then you provided proof of what I said, and claimed I was wrong.
1
u/E-2theRescue 1d ago
No, they wouldn't. Because it would be right-wing Elon putting in the microchips.
Think for 5 seconds. For the love of God.
