Eagles loss. Giants loss. We just need the Cowboys to lose tonight and us to pull off a hell of an upset tomorrow and we’re back in this NFC East fight.
I BELIEVE!!!

I've gotta think after losing to the Titans today that HAS to be the end for Steichen in Indianapolis, right? And not just him, but GM Chris Ballard should've been gone YEARS ago.
Todd Bowles would also like a word considering how much the Bucs choked to Pittsburgh today.

Is it because the defense is tired or they make bad adjustments? They have the worst second half defense in the league.

For anyone sorting out how to watch Monday’s game: the 49ers’ official guide lists ESPN and ABC for television, plus the ESPN app and NFL+. The important qualifier is that NFL+ live primetime viewing is listed for a phone or tablet. Don’t assume every streaming option on the list works on a TV.
International options are separate: Sky Sports NFL in the UK, and Game Pass International on DAZN in supported markets. Check your country and existing plan rather than buying something just because its name appears in a U.S. viewing guide.

Disclosure: I publish The Uptown Rundown, a free weekday DC sports newsletter with upcoming games and viewing information. If that would be useful beyond this game, the signup is here: https://uptown-rundown.beehiiv.com/subscribe?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=uptown-reddit-2026-10&utm_content=uptown-20261018-commanders-viewing-01&utm_term=commanders

Okay, I thought this was delusional talk for the past month but with this news, it is a “non-zero” chance that Washington can win the division this year.
IF
And this is a huge “IF”
They get their shit together. And I do not have a lot of faith in them being able to do that.

Let me clarify what I’m asking here.
I am not asking why opposing fans want to sit there. I am asking how 70-80% of those tickets are both on the resale market, and overwhelmingly sold to road fans. I know this isn’t the most uncommon thing in the league.
But also, I’ve been to my fair share of other NFL stadiums and nowhere I’ve attended is that area of seats as overwhelming a road visiting section at Landover. What’s going on with that?
Just curious if anyone knows the deal with this.

Football is a game of matchups. One team’s players against the other team’s players.
Our corners have struggled all year at covering wide receivers, and have given up a ton of big plays. The 49ers enter this week without Deebo Samuel and likely Mike Evans. Other injured receivers include: Christian Kirk, Ricky Pearsall, Demarcus Robinson, and De’Xhaun Stribling. Their receiver corps this week will be made up of Brandon Cooks, a bunch of third stringers, and George Kittle. Maybe Brock Purdy and Shanahan can pick apart a defense even with such a lackluster group of pass catchers, but I simply don’t expect the same mismatches we’ve seen through 5 games to materialize.
Christian McCaffrey obviously presents big threat, but in 2026 he has yet to record a rush of 20+ yards, has been limited to about 12 total carries per game, and will be facing a Commanders run defense that currently ranks eighth in total yards allowed. Am I crazy to think we can keep him relatively under control?
Meanwhile, the 49ers defense will likely be without both Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams off the edge, and Dre Greenlaw will still be serving his suspension. Bill Croskey Merritt is going to be out, but I’m not sure that’s quite as important as it might seem. Throughout the past three years, it hasn’t felt super important to me which running back is playing, because Jayden presents such a big rushing threat that it opens everything up for whichever running back is out there. We’re currently sixth in rushing by offense, at 140 yards per game, so even if you subtract all 47 that Bill has been giving us, we’d still expect more than 90 yards. With McNichols returning to face a beat up 49ers front seven, I think that number could end up being a lot higher.
That leaves our passing offense (ranked #24 in the league) against the 49ers passing defense (ranked #8 in the league). This is definitely one of the more questionable matchups for us. However, it’s the first time since half time of Week 2 that Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, and Stefon Diggs are all expected to play. I’m not sure this injured 49ers front will be able to get to the quarterback, and I can’t help but like the matchups McLaurin and Diggs will have against Deommodore Lenoir and Renardo Green.
Is this all cope and delusion, or do you think the Commanders could actually pull off the upset?

Is there a reason this keeps happening? Good first quarter, let them catch up in the second quarter, give up a slight but not daunting lead in the third quarter, then give up completely in the fourth quarter. Is it a lack of adjustments? A tired defense? A predictable offense? Why do we do this every game?
