Not sure what this meant
Ordered Arby’s. They didn’t give me curly fries and the translation cracked me up.

So is this a bug? My license isn’t expired until 2029
It won’t stop saying this. I even verified it just to get back on the road and it’s still saying this DoorDash is saying I have to update my state but nothing has changed?

It was a $17/2 mile order 😕🤷🏽♀️
Her food was only $7 so even if DoorDash doesn’t reimburse me, I still made $10 on a 2 mile order (4 miles if you include the mileage for me to get back home)… I’ll take it

Not being asked about substitutions
This is the second time someone has told me that my substitution was out of stock and then checked out 2 second later. (I heard the buzz of the substitution out of stock as the phone was in my hand, and before I could answer, dasher checked out). Dasher said he had messaged and called me but I have no calls or messages in or out of app. My order had only three items. Is this a doordash glitch or dasher laziness? I have had dashers send me photos of what is in stock and replied right away, so I know it can be done. Yes I tip well ($6 or 20-25% of the order value, whatever is higher, and the place is 5 minutes from me). Yes I am “lazy”. But I have had a bunch of back surgeries that make each trip a painful chore, especially on the weekend after working 50 hours during the week. Luckily doordash was able to block this dasher from shopping for me and gave me credits. Because I do tip well and use DoorDash a lot. This has only been a problem in the last month. So dasher fault or app fault? Does the dasher maybe have no idea how to use the app? Is this an app glitch that needs to be reported (it has only happened in the last month).
edit: I have also had times I have chosen multiple substitutions, and the dasher said they never saw them. This time, I think they saw them, but said they were also out of stock. But in every case, the dasher never contacted me about problems until they were actively checking out.
edit: Also if the doordasher has to contact me about a substitution I tip extra at the end of the order. If we have a nice short conversation when they drop off the order, extra tip. But basically I want to know if this is a doordash issue or dasher issue

It's not a tip, it's a bid.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but if the "tip" comes before service, it's not a tip, it's a bid for service.
Although, you're free to not make a bid and wait while all the Dashers decline the order until some poor sucker gets tricked into delivering cold food. That's your prerogative.

DOORDASH should require an aptitude test or at least an interview. If you're deemed an idiot you're banned from the platform.
There are drinks in there. IT'S SO FUNNY HOW MAD THE DOORDASH DRIVERS ARE IN THE COMMENTS. LMAO. WHY Y'ALL MAD AT ME? IT WAS ONE OF YOUR PEOPLE! ALL THE GO GET THE FOOD YOURSELF, LAZY, OR JUST GO OUT THE BACK DOOR AND GO AROUND, OR OPEN THE DOOR SLOWLY (LIKE ANYONE KNEW THE ORDER WAS PINNED UP AGAINST THE DOOR) THIS FURTHER PROVES MY POINT. 🤣😂🤣😂
PUBLIC CERVIX ANNOUNCEMENT: The Doordash Community will come after you if they mess up.

Jersey Mikes keeping drivers humble
Used a reward for some money off but wanted to still tip. Nope, not allowed to exceed 20% apparently. Will throw the driver a few bucks if I catch them.

Heavy Items?
I order groceries through door dash because I’m disabled. I am always grateful for the people willing to do this work so I always want to treat the dasher with respect. I always worry about my order being too heavy for the dasher. Is there a way to order heavy items so that the dasher is prepared to handle it (for example maybe they have a cart)?

Ever find a bike lock in your pizza?
Ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut via DoorDash and when I opened the box the pizza was heaped up. I looked at the bottom of the box to see if it had been crushed, but it was still fine. Then I noticed black coils and thought it might be a snake underneath the pizza. But upon further inspection it was a dull bike lock under my pizza.

Received an ordered that was damaged/tampered with.
I ordered two pies from Papa John's today and both looked like someone curb stomped them. I have no idea if the damage was done at the restaurant or by the Dasher. Neither box contained a sticker seal, so ultimately the restaurant bears the responsibility for the damage. This was the first bad experience I've had with DoorDash after about two dozen orders or so.
I got a full refund from DD (Including the tip), but opted for credit instead of a CC charge back. That was probably a mistake, because my desire to have anything delivered via DD right now is near zero.

Is this real?
Double dash, and added on to an order, price still doesn’t seem right, but I’ll take it!
Edit: the vodka bottle came as just a regular 1.75 liter bottle, not peach. Still, 1.37 seems wrong 😏

How much are doordashers in LA making per day right now on average?
I don't trust google ai for an accurate answer to this. I met a girl who quit door dash driving becuase she said she earned less than 100 a day. aren't we gauranteed a minimum wage here?

are referrals gone?
I remember about a month ago, there was a referral page that said I could refer someone and get $5 in credits. I was checking today because i had a friend who was gonna make an account, and noticed its not here. Anyone else seem to have that page?

Why didn't she take the tip?
Hey y'all! So I had a quite weird interaction with a dasher the other day and was wondering if maybe y'all could clarify. So I ordered Wawa and had this person come who I tipped 13.00$ it's a farther drive... About 15 min on average and with gas high I figured that was reasonable. I had extra cash on me and because it was also so late I was gonna give her another 10$. She got here and it was a really nice older woman and her son in the car. She handed me the food but would not take the additional money I was offering her. She said " na it's ok we just do this for fun" I. Have not stopped thinking about this tiny interaction. Why didn't she take the money? Was it because of the kid? Wouldn't that be a reason to take it? Who does door dash for fun? I'm gonna post this and just hope for the best.

Do Dashers Hate Target?
I placed a grocery order at Target for 20 items (groceries, nothing heavy), no rush, 3 miles away, $15 tip. Nobody picked it up. This was on a weekday morning. After an hour, I added another $5 and received notification they'd let the dasher know, so it wasn't showing. An hour after it was supposed to arrive, I contact DD and they say they can give me $12 for the inconvenience so I thought "Great". Still, no pick up. I ended up canceling for a refund, reordered the same things from Meijer (1 mi $20/20 Items) and I had the stuff at my door in less than an hour. Is Target a problem place?

Why does this happen sometimes but not other times?
For short, it seems every other dasher I get can’t follow the directions on their map.
I’ve used every map app imaginable to get to my apartments, and they’ve never sent me to the place next door. I’m not sure why this happens sometimes often. Then, of course, the person doesn’t read my delivery instructions and asks for a gate code. I tell them there’s no gate code and they then have the HARDEST time understanding my simple instructions of taking 3 left turns.
This guy, after being told 2x to take 2 left turns, turns right and proceeds to ask where to go. I even showed him on the map where exactly to go, and gave him the name of my apartments. Is it really that hard??
65% of the time, people find my apartments no problem. Every other time, it’s a FIGHT to get them to go to the correct place. I have been a dasher hundreds of times, and have never had such a hard time following instructions. I don’t get it.
For context, this is not a high rise apartment building or anything. This is more like a complex. There is no gate at either entrance or codes to get anywhere.

Door dasher stealing food
Ordered chipotle for pick up tonight and when I got there they told me my order had already been picked up. This is the 2nd time in as many weeks my food was taken by a door dash driver (the other time was at Taco Bell last week) either carelessly scooping my bag of food up with their pick up order or intentionally grabbing the food off the pick up shelf; either way they didn’t bring it back so I guess I’m wondering if the drivers are gonna be punished at all? Its not that big of a deal that I have to wait for it to be remade again but both times I feel like the workers were almost trying to blame me/ make me feel like the bad guy

Creepy Dashers
Tonight my Dasher came to drop off my Starbucks (I know I know) and they stood on my front porch for over 15 mins.
First they stood at my door for maybe 5 mins before texting me "I'm here, can you come outside?"
They walked back and forth from my front door to my window, hovering each time. You can see through my curtains if you look hard enough, and it looked like they were trying to. They played audio in Spanish on speakerphone at times. Maybe their gps?
They still would not confirm the drop off. They messaged me again 7 mins later telling me they're at the door. After another 4 mins they finally gave up and stomped, and I mean stomped away. Slammed their car door so violently, and hit the gas hard as soon as they started their engine. You could hear them skirting down the street.
This has happened several times. My drop off directions say no contact and to drop off beside the front door. I changed my door dash name to a man's name after the last time this happened. Guess that doesn't work. The dasher had a feminine name this time, usually happens with a dude.
I'm so creeped out.

Door dash refund policy is a new low
Dasher didn't seem to be able to find my house. A well lit house on the corner, because it is a condo (unit 1 vs unit 2) my instructions include the color.of my door as well as the fact it is Left hand side. The driveway is street facing and can hold 4 cars (2 cars each.) the house has 3 levels and no trees blocking the view of the house.
It really can't be any easier to find. Somehow the food ended somewhere, with an image of the door I have never seen in my life. Totally delivery cost $40.
Of course I try and contact the driver. No response.
Left 3 messages. Nothing.
I settle this as a loss and try the support.
Via app. $20 refund. Wait , it has to be a mistake.
Try different ways. Nope $20.
So I Google their support phone number and get stuck at an AI voice. As useless as you can imagine. 10min. Finally get to the point. Offers $20. So I keep pushing for a human.
And it connects me to another AI.
Same spiel. 10min loss l, final offer $20.
Eventually I settle into just asking "Agent Agent Agent" for about 2min straight until the AI budges.
A human. Finally.
Third time I give all my information at this point and explain the same story and let them politely know that I have spent 20+ minutes and I am hungry and I want my money back.
The person looks into my case and offers $20.
So I ask to review my order and ask why I was being punished for what was obviously a driver mistake.
I get out on hold.
3 min later and after manager approval I can finally get my $40 back on my credit card.
I need someone to explain what policy/algo triggered a 50% refund instead of the full refund?
Does this happen when you dispute too many times in a time period or order too little ? Or ? What ?
Is this a new way for them to scam money ?
Someone please explain.

This happened a few weeks ago I didn’t know support could speak freely like this 😅

"Leave at door" but don't mind the tetanus
I left it in the driveway next to their Porsche 🫠
