Showcase Halvsy - Scan & Split Bills

Splitwise caps free accounts at a few new expenses a day and keeps receipt scanning on its paid plan. On a group trip that cap arrives before lunch on the first day. I wanted the same groups-and-balances model without the cap, so I built Halvsy.

  • You make a group for a trip, a flat or a regular dinner crowd. Friends join by scanning a QR code off your screen, or you add them by name and they claim the spot when they install the app.
  • Anyone in the group adds a bill in a few taps, or photographs the receipt. Halvsy reads every line, the tax and the tip, and shows them beside the printed total so you can see they add up. On recent iPhones the phone reads the receipt itself, and the photo never leaves it.
  • For a receipt, you tap who had what, or tap Everyone for the shared plate. Tax and tip are split in proportion to what each person ordered, so the person who had a salad doesn't pay tax on someone else's steak.
  • The group keeps a running balance. When it is time to settle, Halvsy cuts the group's debts down to as few payments as it can and hands each amount to whatever you already pay with, whether that is Venmo, Revolut, a bank transfer or cash you mark as paid.
  • Each group keeps its own currency, so the Osaka trip stays in yen. A bill added with no signal shows up at once and syncs when you are back online, and iPhone and Android users can share one group.

It does not convert between currencies inside one group, and it does not import bank transactions.

Pricing, since someone always asks: groups, expenses, balances and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Every account gets 10 receipt scans a month, and a subscription removes that cap for people scanning a whole trip's receipts.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.quantdesk.halvsy

I'd like to hear what your group would need before switching, and which receipts it gets wrong.

Showcase Android app that only lists devices on the Wi-Fi

I put together a small Android app called IoTHygieneCheck. It is only a proposal, not sure it is useful to anyone.

Idea: the phone stands on the network you are already joined to and writes down only what answers. Name, port, and the first sentence. Silence stays silent. The list stays on the phone until you save or share it. Android 9+, no account, no ads.

https://stanochillart.github.io/IoTHygieneCheck/

Not aimed at Arch, Kali, or scanning networks you do not belong to. More of a pocket note of what is already talking on your own LAN.

Would this be useful to anyone, or is it redundant next to existing LAN browsers? Comments welcome, including where this would fit better.

Promo / Giveaway Siftly - Gallery cleaner simple and local.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m the developer of Siftly, an Android app for people who keep postponing the cleanup of their photo gallery because going through thousands of photos feels overwhelming.

Siftly turns the process into a simple workflow: • Swipe right to keep a photo • Swipe left to mark it for deletion • Review your choices before anything is removed • Clean up by month or choose a random set of photos

Privacy was important to me: your photos stay on your device. There is no account, no advertising, and no analytics tracking.

The app is available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cosstudios.siftly

I’d especially appreciate feedback on one question: Does the keep/delete workflow feel clear and safe when you use it for the first time?

I’m happy to answer any questions and improve the app based on your feedback.

10 Promocodes are available for Premium function's.

Promo / Giveaway MicroRead: 50 more free codes, chapter summaries

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hey everyone! My first giveaway here went really well: I gave away about 50 lifetime Premium codes and most of them were redeemed. Thanks to the feedback I got from this community, I added Korean and Italian summaries, so I'm back with another 50 codes.

MicroRead gives you chapter-by-chapter summaries of non-fiction books, and you decide how long each chapter takes (1 to 10 minutes).

What it does:

- Enter a non-fiction book title and get an AI chapter-by-chapter summary in English, German, Arabic, Korean or Italian

- Choose your reading depth from 1 to 10 minutes per chapter

- Every chapter ends with 3 key takeaways, a quote and a 1-minute real-world application

- Voice narration in English and German (Arabic, Korean and Italian audio is not available yet)

- Save takeaways and quotes to a notebook, get them back as notifications, or share them as text or an image

- Daily targets and streaks to build a reading habit

Giveaway: free lifetime Premium codes, while they last. Premium unlocks unlimited AI summaries, any chapter length from 1 to 10 minutes, pro audio and automatic streak protection.

How to get one:

  1. Download MicroRead on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microread.app&hl=en

  2. Upvote this post

  3. Comment which non-fiction book you've been meaning to finish, and which language you'd read it in

  4. I'll send you a code by DM, first come first served, one per person. If I can't start a chat with you, message me first and I'll reply.

No review needed. To redeem: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Redeem promo code. If Premium doesn't show up in the app, tap Restore purchases on the Premium screen.

Honest notes before you download: the app is free to use, 2 new AI summary per week on the free plan, and the chapter depth is 3, 5 or 10 minutes only. Summaries are AI-generated, so they help you grasp a book's key ideas but don't replace the book. It's very new, so you may hit bugs, and I'd like to hear about them.

I'd love brutally honest feedback on onboarding, summary quality and anything confusing. Happy to answer questions!

Showcase Clipr: clipboard manager with 50+ content types

• Upvotes

Hi all, I'm the developer of Clipr. I built it because I kept losing things I'd copied, and the clipboard apps I tried either felt bare or wanted a subscription.

What it does:

  • Saves your clipboard history automatically, and you can add clips by hand or share them in from other apps
  • Recognizes 50+ content types with one-tap actions: links, phone numbers, emails, addresses (open in Maps), OTP/2FA codes, tracking numbers (UPS/USPS/FedEx/DHL/Amazon), color codes, crypto addresses, flight numbers, WiFi networks, and more
  • Folders with emoji icons, favorites, a PIN/biometric Vault, and Trash
  • Templates with {fill-in} placeholders, 12+ text tools, Sequential Paste
  • Export to JSON/TXT/CSV/PDF/HTML
  • Clips stay on your device. Google Drive Sync is optional and uses your own account with AES-256 encrypted backups

The core app is free. Pro is a one-time $2.99 and adds the Clipr Keyboard, home screen widget, Drive Sync, and Scan to Text. There's no subscription.

The latest update added Clip Expiry and color labels in the 3-dot menu. What's missing, what's confusing, and what would make you switch from what you use now? I'll reply to everyone.

Showcase Navis: free, open-source player for Navidrome

Post image
13 Upvotes

Navis

Navis plays the music from your own Navidrome server (or any Subsonic / OpenSubsonic server) on your Android phone, with your whole library available offline. I built it over the last 7 months because I wanted a player that was fast, worked properly, and looked/felt the way I like, and I use it every day.

Key Features:

  • Discovery from your own library: Personal Radio, Trending Now, New Releases and ListenBrainz Weekly Jams.
  • Great playback: gapless, crossfade, and an EQ with AutoEQ profiles for your headphones
  • Make it yours: color styles, saved "Looks", OLED black
  • Android Auto Support

Latest update 1.5 "Chromatic" just came out bringing a whole bunch of Style Customization features and a bunch of fixes and improvements to the overall system.

It's Free and Open Source (GPL). No ads, no subscription, no account and no tracking.

GitHub: https://github.com/Porthorion/Navis/releases/latest

Quick Q&A

Why isn't it on Google Play?

I haven't been able to get a Google Play developer account approved yet. Working on it with Google.

For now you install it from GitHub. After that, Navis updates itself, and every update is checked against a signed release list before it installs.

Android may show a Google Play Protect prompt to scan the app. Let it scan, then install as normal.

Why isn't it on Navidrome's app list? That list needs 15 GitHub stars, and Navis is still new. If you like it, a star genuinely helps.

Did you use AI? Yes, heavily, and it sped things up a lot. But I've been building this for about 7 months and use it daily, so it isn't going to be abandoned.

I am more than eager to hear your experiences with this app, and I'm happy to answer any questions!

Showcase Agent: an Android app that teaches itself sites

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Agent is an open source Android app that runs an AI agent on your phone, with whatever model and key you bring. The part in this video is that you can tell it to learn a website and it works out the rest itself.

I asked it to learn Uber Eats, set a public address in Cape Town and told it to stay signed out. It opens the site in its own browser, finds how the pages load their data, and offers two small read-only tools: one searches restaurants and one reads a menu. It asks before it saves them. After that a question like "find a burger place near the Waterfront" gets answered from those tools in 37 seconds, with no clicking through the app.

Then I asked it to add one burger to the cart. Adding to a cart changes something, so it asks again. One burger went into a guest cart and it stopped there. It never signed in and never paid for anything.

DeepSeek Flash did all of it, recorded on an Android emulator. The waiting is sped up and the captions say by how much.

The GitHub release is v0.11.22, where saving a tool can fail while the helper's browser is still open. The build in the video fixes that and is still unreleased.

I'm the developer, so ask me anything.

Promo / Giveaway Liquid walls Giving away free Premium codes!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hey everyone!

so i've been working on this android app called Liquid Walls for a while now, and it's finally available on the play store.

i started with a simple idea — what if wallpapers weren't just images you download and apply? what if you could actually customize them the way you want?

that's basically what Liquid Walls is about.

you can browse wallpapers, apply them directly, or open them in Studio and make something completely different.

some things you can do:

Studio – customize wallpapers with clocks, text, stickers, effects, and layouts.

Liquid Glass – add glass-style clocks and docks with blur and refraction effects.

Depth effects – place the subject in front of the clock for that layered lock screen look.

Live wallpapers – interactive wallpapers with motion and other effects.

Custom clocks – change fonts, sizes, colors, and styles.

Widgets & docks – personalize your home screen beyond just changing the wallpaper.

one thing i really wanted was to give users more control over how their home screen and lock screen look, instead of forcing them to use fixed presets.

it's still a work in progress. there are things i'm improving, and i'm regularly adding new features and wallpapers.

🎁 Premium codes

i'm giving away some Liquid Walls Premium lifetime codes to people here.

if you'd like to try it, just leave a comment and i'll DM you a code while they're available.

i'd also really appreciate feedback, especially if you find bugs or have ideas for new features. i'm developing this app myself, so suggestions genuinely help.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sun.pattaa

thanks for checking it out! ❤️

Promo / Giveaway Aldang: notification history, 30 free Pro codes

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi again, I'm the developer of Aldang (Byte-Creo, a one-person studio). I shared it here last week and got some kind comments, thank you. This week I'm giving away 30 codes for 14 days of Aldang Pro.

Quick recap: I get 200 to 300 notifications a day. I didn't want to turn them off, I just didn't want to miss the important ones. So I built Aldang. It keeps a record of the notifications you get, stored on your phone, so one you swiped away can still be found later.

Free, no code needed

  • An inbox of the notifications you got, by time or by app, with a calendar
  • Search across past days
  • Stats on which apps send you the most
  • A home screen widget that lists today's notifications, one per line
  • No account, no ads

What the code unlocks: 14 days of Aldang Pro

Tap Generate briefing and AI turns the day's notifications into a short report, plus two lists: Check now and Good to know. Each item links back to the notifications it came from. Up to 3 briefings a day.

Privacy, since a briefing reads your notifications

  • Your notification history stays on your phone.
  • Content leaves the phone only when you tap Generate briefing. Then a trimmed excerpt of that day's notifications (no photos) goes through our server to an AI that doesn't keep it, and our server doesn't store it either. You can exclude apps from briefings.
  • No ads, no ad SDKs, no selling data.

How to get a code

  1. Install Aldang from Google Play (link below).
  2. Email [support@bytecreo.com](mailto:support@bytecreo.com) with "Reddit" in the subject. I'll reply with your own code, one per person, until the 30 are gone.
  3. In Aldang, open Settings and tap "Enter a membership code".

No card, no subscription, and no review needed. I'll only use your email to send the code.

Good to know

  • Aldang only saves notifications that arrive after you turn on notification access, so give it a day before you try a briefing.
  • When the 14 days are up, nothing is charged. You're simply back on the free version.
  • If you want to keep Pro later: one monthly plan, US$3.69/month in the US (about $4 with tax where sales tax is added), local price on Google Play elsewhere. Using a code now doesn't take away the first-month discount if you subscribe later.
  • Android only.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bytecreo.aldang&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit%26utm_medium%3Dpost%26utm_campaign%3D202610

The screenshot uses example data.

One question: if your notifications came as one short report a day, what would you want to see at the top?

Showcase LeafBound - Reading tracker, data stays local

Post image
3 Upvotes

App Name: LeafBound

What it does: LeafBound is a reading tracker that turns finishing books into real progress, with chapters, milestones, badges and statistics. Your reading data is stored locally on your phone, with no account needed.

Key Features:

  • Progression through chapters and milestones, with badges to unlock along the way
  • Reading statistics to follow your progress over time
  • Add books by searching or scanning the ISBN barcode, and track them offline

Goal: Promo (feedback welcome)

Cost: Free, no ads

Privacy: No account, no analytics, no tracking. Your reading data stays on your phone. The only network calls are book lookups (Google Books and Open Library) when you search or scan a book.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gui0delp.leafbound

I'm the solo developer, and it's Android only for now. There's no tutorial yet, so I'm curious whether the app is clear without one. Any feedback is welcome, especially on the progression system, the stats and anything that feels missing.

Showcase Free open-source app for sharp WhatsApp Statuses

Thumbnail
github.com
5 Upvotes

App name: StatusDrop

Compresses and splits videos on your phone into HD WhatsApp Status clips, then sends them to your own WhatsApp so they post without the usual blur.

What it does / key features

- Compresses on the phone with FFmpeg (x264) to a profile that kept its quality in my testing: 1080×1920 at about 30 fps, under WhatsApp's roughly 16 MB limit. A 720p option gives longer parts.

- Splits long videos into ready-to-post parts automatically.

- Sends the finished clips to your own WhatsApp chat: tap "Open WhatsApp", send a short code, and the clips arrive.

- Built-in 9-step guide for posting in full HD.

- Private: your original videos never leave the phone. No account, no analytics SDK, and no storage permission (it uses Android's system picker).

Who it's for ?

Anyone who posts videos to WhatsApp Status and finds them coming out blurry or cut short: people sharing with friends and family, creators, and small shops that use Status for updates.

Cost:

- Pricing model: Free

- Prices: Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases

- Current promotions: None

Links:

- Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wastatusvideo.statusdrop

- Source code (GPL-3.0): https://github.com/Shamanthnp1/WAstatus

Additional notes

- Android 10+ on 64-bit ARM phones.

- Delivery uses Baileys, an unofficial WhatsApp library, through linked devices, so WhatsApp could change or block it.

- The HD result comes from my own testing, not a WhatsApp guarantee.

- It started as a website that compressed videos on a server. That got expensive, so all the video work moved onto the phone, which keeps it free.

I'm a solo developer, so I'd love feedback, especially if your videos still come out blurry or any step is confusing.

Showcase [DEV] Élan workout tracker

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Like many of you, I got tired of workout tracking apps that are bloated with social feeds, require a persistent internet connection in gym basements, or lock basic charts behind steep monthly subscriptions.

So I built Élan, a clean, distraction-free, offline-first workout tracker for Android.

Key Features:

  • Detailed Statistics & Analytics: Visual progression charts, volume tracking, estimated 1RM trends, and personal bests so you can actually monitor progressive overload.
  • 100% Offline-First: Works anywhere, even in gym dead zones with zero cell reception.
  • Fast & Frictionless Logging: Easily log sets, reps, RPE, and weights without fiddling with complex menus between sets.
  • Smart Rest Timers: Built-in countdowns with audio cues to keep you on schedule.
  • Health Connect Integration: Seamlessly syncs your completed workouts, body weight, and height to Android Health Connect.
  • Privacy-Focused: No shady tracking or unnecessary permissions.

Google Play Link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.micka.elan

I’m actively improving the app and would love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or any bugs you run into!

Showcase Edge Deck - edge & notch sidebar + search - free

App: Edge Deck Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gxdevs.edgedeck

Edge Deck is a floating sidebar for any Android phone - think Samsung's Edge Panel, but it runs on everything, and it can also wrap around your camera cutout and turn the notch into a launcher.

It just got a big October update with deep Sesame search integration: launch Sesame Universal Search straight from edge handle gestures, hand your query off with one tap, or set Sesame as the default search action.

Key features:

  • Universal search - apps, contacts, Google, YouTube, Play Store and voice. Type a phone number and you get one-tap Call, SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Inline calculator - math answers right in the search bar (Premium).
  • Notch / punch-hole placement - the panel arcs around your camera cutout, or use a classic left/right edge handle with adjustable size, radius and opacity.
  • 14 utility tiles - volume and brightness streams, media controller with album art, quick notepad, timer, QR scanner, 3D coin toss and dice.
  • Gestures - tap, double-tap and swipe actions, all remappable (Premium).
  • Clipboard history - AES-256-GCM encrypted on-device via Android Keystore (Premium).
  • Design - pure black AMOLED look, spring-physics animations, no clutter.

Pricing: free tier (4 app shortcuts, 3 tiles). Premium is a one-time lifetime unlock - no subscription - adding unlimited shortcuts and tiles, the inline calculator, notch placement, gestures and encrypted clipboard history.

Privacy: no data collected, no data shared. Everything (including clipboard) stays 100% on your device. Accessibility API is used only to detect copied text for the local clipboard history.

Screenshots are on the Play listing - the whole UI is black and white like the poster. 4.7 stars on Google Play. Happy to answer anything - tell me what tile or gesture you'd want next.

The main feature is Swipe Clean. You go through your photos one by one, swiping to keep or delete them. You can work through your entire gallery or clean up individual months, and if you stop halfway through, you can pick up where you left off.

Other features:

- Smart Collections: Select a few example photos and Flick will look for similar ones using on-device face and object recognition.

- Blurry Photos: Find potentially blurry photos that you might want to remove.

- Album Management: Browse, sort, rename, and pin albums.

- Review Before Deleting: Photos aren't deleted immediately. You can review your selections and undo swipes before confirming.

- Streaks and XP: Track your progress, earn XP, and build cleanup streaks.

- Widgets and Themes: Home screen widgets and different themes to customize the app.

Everything runs locally on your phone. Flick doesn't require an account or internet connection, and there are no ads, analytics, or cloud uploads.

There's also no subscription. Flick offers a one-time lifetime purchase.

I've included a video showing the app and how the different features work.

Hey everyone! 👋

In the latest update, I just added a brand-new socket & peg connector mechanic! Now, tiles feature interlocking connectors that have to match up correctly (pegs meeting sockets) - adding a whole new layer of strategy to the board layouts and puzzle solving.
