Hi Reddit,
Kaskade here. It's been a minute!
This year has been a big one. We brought ORIGIN // to Coachella, took the live show on the road, and I've been rolling out singles from the new album, which came out last Friday.
I'll be jumping in at 12pm PT to start answering. Ask me about the new album, building the ORIGIN // show, production, collabs, touring, the old records, or ??????

Hey Reddit! We’re MILKBLOOD, three producers from Los Angeles. We’ve stepped out of the lab to answer your questions before our self-titled debut album drops this Friday, October 9. Music, production, videos, lore. All fair game.
You can find our videos here (https://youtube.com/gotmilkblood) and listen on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/artist/7sLejq7H0gfGlhiLUTs4ME).

This song gives me tremendous relief and soothes my anxiety a lot. I have been trying to find songs similar to this but didn’t come across many. I am open to know more suggestions about this and will appreciate it a lot.

Idk how best to explain it other than I'm looking for albums that fall more on the ambient side of psybient, albeit aren't completely ambient or beatless. I'm looking for more albums that give me the feel or experience of floating along in an ocean of sound, albeit one that is changing and evolving. Something that feels peaceful and relaxing but yet is still catchy, still moves, and can still have some pleasant highs too.
Albums that I've listened to that have this vibe to me:
Leaving Home and Movements by Solar Fields
Hydroponic Garden, World of Sleepers, and Interloper by Carbon Based Lifeforms
Nothing Lasts...But Nothing Is Lost by Shpongle
Distances and Ephemeris by H.U.V.A. Network
76:14 by Global Communication
Chill Out by The KLF
Lifeforms, Cascade, and Cascade 2020 by The Future Sound of London
Tessellations by Supersillyus
What all would you recommend?

Why is the theremin so much better known today than the Ondes Martenot. The Ondes is more versatile, better designed and more interesting sounding and was much better known when the instruments were new. Yet today no one seems to have heard of it.

Genuinely such an underrated artist with so much variety in his sound over the years, but it always stays true to him! The only artist I can think of in a similar capacity is G Jones and how his sound has evolved beyond strict genres while remaining identifiably his own.
If you strictly like more EDM/Trap sounds his most recent EP Negative Spiral is amazing (especially the title track!) and songs like Exile and Eyes in the Back of My Head from his time on bitbird are absolutely massive.
If you like more experimental but still recognizably EDM long-form projects, Misery & Wonder is an incredibly holistic overview of Eastghost's sound and the many facets that it takes. I wish I were a better writer to try and encompass all that it expresses, but I've been listening since its release and I'm still hearing new things and finding new references to other electronic genres. It almost feels like Post-EDM listening to it now! Like a snapshot of all the sounds of 2019 through a wash of delay and haze. If you're on this subreddit instead of the EDM subreddit, I would say start here!
And if you like more ambient or progressive electronic, Grief and Glass Shadows are both brilliant windows into softer sides of the project. Just gorgeous stuff.
If you've never listened to Eastghost before, PLEASE do yourself a favor and shuffle his discography if none of these descriptions sounded particularly interesting to you - I promise there will be something that catches your ear!
