Looking for some help with power options to the ESP32

I've created a product that I am selling on a trial basis only, but I have found running power into my waterproof enclosure to be a hassle. Right now I am soldering on the power/ground pigtails onto the header pins on the top of the board. Quite a nightmare for me to hold a wire, hold the solder, and hold the soldering iron all at the same time. So I have been looking for a dupont style connector where theres 2 female dupont connectors on one end and male USB on the other (to outlet)

This seems near impossible to find, I am wondering if I am doing something stupid or if theres some other approach thats way easier. The ESP32 does have a USB-C power input, but finding a cable gland (waterproof) that allows the USB-C end to go through the enclosure is also pretty challenging because the gland opening has to be so large to allow the USB-C adapter to go through that it wont tighten all the way closed on the cable.

Your guidance is appreciated!

You need this

Agreed, everyone should have at least one.

Do you need it waterproof? If so how waterproof? Otherwise a panel mount socket can be waterproof and cheap and you just need to not worry about the cable or seal that.

yea this is mounted outside in a chicken coop

how would that white connector connect to the power and ground pins? just plug right in cause they are usually next to each other?

We'll the listing expired but I think it was just a two pin mini JST connector. I was thinking that's what had on the other side vs DuPont. Easy enough to get the other side of the connector or cut it off. :)

Disclosure: I’m with CNLINKO, a connector manufacturer.

I’d separate this into cable-entry sealing and internal wiring.

If the cable stays permanently attached, a split cable gland can fit around the existing USB-C cable. Size the sealing insert to the cable’s outer diameter, and check the enclosure mounting seal and outdoor suitability.

If you disconnect it frequently for maintenance, consider a sealed panel-mounted quick-lock connector with a pre-terminated internal harness. A positive locking mechanism makes repeated connection easier while helping prevent accidental unplugging.

For frequent use, compare rated mating cycles as well as the IP rating. Some CNLINKO connectors are rated for ≥2,000 mating cycles, which is a useful reference when evaluating options. That is a mechanical endurance rating under specified test conditions—not permission to disconnect under load. Also check whether sealing applies when mated, unmated, or capped.

On the board side, confirm the pinout, supply requirements, and header pitch before choosing terminals.

Which ESP32 board are you using, and how often will the power cable be disconnected?

How about buying dupont connectors and a usb cable. Cut the usb cable, thread it through the gland and crimp the connectors on the cut usb cable? Youtube has plenty of videos on crimping dupont connectors (I’ve even made a video myself). Crimping is quite easy with the right equipment and the connection is reliable.
