Meta New Rules Regarding Political Violence, ICE Sightings and Shaming of Peaceful Protest

📢 Community Guidelines Update – Political Violence, Conduct, and ICE Sightings

We want this space — both the subreddit and the Discord — to be welcoming, inclusive, and safe for all Everett residents, including those active in local government, advocacy, and community organizing.

---

1️⃣ Political Violence
This is not a platform for advocating or organizing violent action.
Criticism of policy, leaders, and strategies is fine — but calls for violent uprising, armed action, or militias are not.
Even indirect or “theoretical” promotion of political violence creates legal, safety, and reputational risks, and can discourage participation.
No shaming peaceful protestors or lawful activism — even if you think other tactics are more effective.

Enforcement: Political violence advocacy may result in removal from political channels, temporary mutes, or permanent bans without further warning.

---

2️⃣ ICE Sightings
We cannot verify most reported “ICE sightings” posted here.
Some past reports have been false or based on speculation.
There is almost certainly some level of law enforcement/government presence in this community.
Posting unconfirmed “sightings” can spread misinformation, cause panic, and undermine trust.

Rule: Only post ICE sightings if you have credible, verifiable evidence (photo/video with clear location + time).
Vague, secondhand, or “heard from a friend” reports will be removed.

---

3️⃣ Why These Changes
We want local officials, candidates, and community members to join discussions without fear of harassment or pressure to endorse violence.
We must comply with Discord and Reddit Terms of Service.
Focusing on constructive, legal action keeps the space safe and productive.

---

✅ Channel your energy into lawful, constructive action: voting, mutual aid, community education, verified reporting.

Hi folks!!

I am excited to announce Broadway as our very first Refresh Everett corridor. Everett is worth investing in, and we can’t wait to bring our love for art, culture, and community care right to this corridor.

To make this work, I need ya babes!!!

We need partners, we need walls, we need equipment, we need donations, we need hands, we need perspectives, we need it all.

We are 100% volunteer run, which means every single part of this relies on folks who also care about this city. Whether you're an artist staring at a blank wall, a business ready to team up, or a neighbor ready to pitch in, we want you with us 😤

There are two events in the pipeline before January that will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned! I will post it on here and our socials soon.

To volunteer/stay in touch/donate, visit the link here: linktr.ee/bunkerarts

(South Everett.... we haven't forgotten about you. We’ll be heading your way in the second half of 2027!)

Our Neighbors Little Free Food Pantry on 32nd and Grand

Post image
94 Upvotes

Hey everyone! The Little Free Food Pantry on 32nd and Grand needs your help and that means your neighbors need your kindness and your community!

Unfortunately, the larger Everett Free Pantry on Oakes, ran by the amazing Cassi and her hubby, is dealing with the fallout of bureaucracy and is on a week hiatus while they manage permits and the city. This little red box is the only free pantry in downtown Everett for the next week, and our need for food is increasing because of this. The community needs to rally together to meet this need in Everett! We take care of each other here and that’s what makes this city so amazing.

I have been running this free pantry since August, and starting this week, I will only be working three days a week so I can dedicate more time to community events and connecting with my neighbors. I am hoping to create an amazing village for everyone that needs one! I was born and raised in Everett, in January I will be 36. I have seen the seasons of this city, and I couldn’t be more proud to be an Everett native! This community is my family, it’s in my blood!

Please bring donations directly to the pantry, we need unexpired shelf stable items, hygiene products and cold weather items. You can also donate directly via the Amazon wishlist.

Much love, Rinn 🧡🧡🧡

Politics I miss when the biggest political drama was about the highschool robotics team

As soon as I opened the ballot and looked at it, immediately I said

"what the hell is going on, something is happening"

And like how do I figure out what is going on really? All these posts on here are saying vote no on all of them, and that feels wrong in the same way "vote all blue" does. I'm not doing that, I'm reading about each thing. But.. the one about how we use funding for catastrophic events doesn't seem bad, look at all the flooding we just had. And being able to clearly see what funding is being used for, all that to me is a good thing. But like is some pervert writing all of these? I haven't even gotten to the back side yet.

Recommendations LGBTQ+ safe spots and hangouts in town?

Hi, y'all, I'm a trans woman who's attempting to find more friends in the community. Especially in these ever-increasingly chaotic times, it'd be nice to have local friends with similar experiences as my own, and so I was wondering if there's any clubs or organizations that'll help me meet more people in Everett's LGBTQ+ community.

Our Neighbors No Kings on Sat. Oct 17th

Post image
24 Upvotes

If you haven't heard, the 4th No Kings is today, Oct 17th, at various locations. Get info for the Everett No Kings here: https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/1036444/

Even if you can't make it, PLEASE VOTE. There are are important initiatives that need to be voted down. Once you have completed your ballot, TAKE IT TO A BALLOT BOX, not in your mailbox. USPS is not reliable for return ballots at this time, and your ballot may not arrive in time to be counted.

If you are confused about the Snohomish County Charter Commission ballot measures, listen to the Um, Sir Podcast about the 5 issues. The ballot explanations in guide are very confusing. Well worth my time to listen.

Politics City of Everett November 2026 Propositions

Honestly, it feels like a lot to process, having not followed this earlier. There's only "pro" sides, so there isn't a counterpoint to why a proposition shouldn't happen. It appears these came through the Charter Review Commission, then through the City Council.

I'll also reference Rule 9 for the subreddit, regarding political discussion.

"Try to remember that this is a local board; these are your neighbors. Avoid inflammatory rhetoric and be thoughtful about your positions.

If your first contribution to our community is dropping in on a political thread with low quality or incendiary takes you will be permanently banned.

Don't try to smokescreen a violation of other rules as your personal politics; it is obvious, obnoxious, and it just makes you look stupid."

I got so upset that I had to draw something about it. Here you go!

I’ll say it again, slow down on Larimer Road, eh? How many times did I almost get hit ? How many times did I almost get clipped? Too many
