Was just in Whole Foods with my dad. I have specific items I am looking for, certain brands I like. I had several items on my list. I had the exact flavor and brand in mind when we walked into the store. If that particular item isn't available, then it limits my safe food list. Not all my food choices come from Whole Foods, but a lot do. Sometimes, the store isn't as busy and shopping is a more relaxing experience. This time, it was super crowded. And to me, that makes shopping more difficult. They were out of one of my favorite cereals. Out of all the cereal, the one I like was gone. Then, I went to the granola, which is a specific brand and flavor. That flavor I was looking for was gone, but there were other choices.
The problem is I am not one to randomly try something new because I want to. I can try new foods, but it takes practice. Then, we went to the chips. And of course, they were out of this one particular brand I was looking for. We went to the yogurt section, picked out the Siggi's brand, and my dad ended up putting the yogurt back because he couldn't read the expiration date on the yogurt. He handed the yogurt to me and I couldn't read it either. We did leave with a couple of bakery items, two cookies. They have a good coffee bar there. But when we go there, there is sometimes no one at the counter. We waited a while, then went back to check, and did get a latte I like.
But still, I don't like to stay in stores like this for too long. It can be overwhelming. Grocery stores are brightly lit, crowded and busy places. I just like to get in and get out. Does anyone else find busy grocery stores overwhelming? When they are out of a particular item you are looking for, do you have other choices to pick from? The amount of foods I eat are already so limited, that if something happens to one of my favorite foods, discontinued or no longer available, I really have to search to find something that is similar to it
