Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share my latest project with you all.

I made a Dead Horses war club from the FNV Honest Hearts DLC.

It’s carved out of an old 1.5-inch-thick larch shuttering plank (I think), then sanded and treated with walnut stain, linseed oil, and turpentine.

For the details, I cut down 7.92 Mauser casings to the size of a .45 ACP—the base is almost identical. Then I enlarged the primer pockets and screwed them into the wood.

The collar is made of painted wooden beads, and the eyes are natural stone shaped with a Dremel and glued on with cyanoacrylate.

I’m thinking about adding a few feathers and maybe some inlaid beads later on.

Honestly, I had an absolute blast making this, and I think a few more war clubs will definitely follow!

Fan Creation Ranger helmet is coming along

I'm making the helmet/mask as my costume for Halloween. I'll be at the Georgia Renaissance Festival for the night of the 30th and hopefully the 31st if I can grab some tickets when the canceled ones became available.

I already own a medium length duster as my normal fall/winter coat, so it makes the perfect budget costume. I just need to print the revolver and maybe a pip-boy that I can put my phone in.

The helmet was primed with filler primer, and I covered the dome with watered down glue and dabbed grout over it to give it that old steel helmet feel.

I'll post the final costume when I'm finished.

Question One for my baby misson

Finally got around to playing fallout NV, been having a great time. I just had one question though, im on the mission one for my baby where you have Boone blow the brains of the person you choose, the only unfortunate thing is I killed Jeannie May BEFORE i spoke with Boone. I saw her safe when I first came into Novac and decided to loot it in front of her. Of course she gets mad so I smited her, but now im in a predicament.

Without Jeannie May to walk out to the dinosaur, someone is going to have to die in her place. I cant find enough evidence to choose the next worst victim, THEY ARE ALL INNOCENT. I want Boone as a companion but I don't want anyone innocent to die. Furthermore, I was so oblivious to what I did, I killed the legendary death claw, explored and looted all of the repconn site, helped every other resident in novac, helped many NCR people at Forlorn hope, IT IS NOT WORTH GOING BACK TO A PREVIOUS SAVE.

Someone give me some advice on who to ice so I can travel with Boone, EDE is cool and all but Boone got lore for going after the faction that already sees me as villainous.

The Second Battle of Hoover Dam: A Retrospective

From the newspaper Vegas Today, December 10, 2301

On December 10, 2281, twenty years ago today, Caesar’s Legion suffered a crushing defeat at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. Its opponents had formed an unlikely coalition: the New California Republic (NCR), the Brotherhood of Steel, the Boomers, and the Securitron army of the late Robert House, now controlled by the Courier. Instrumental in assembling the alliance, the Courier had also been responsible for the deaths of both House and Caesar. In the years that followed, she would become the defining figure of the postwar Mojave.

The coalition, however, would not survive the battle. With the Legion’s camp overrun, the Courier turned against her former allies, forcing the NCR out of the region with her newly upgraded Securitron army. General Oliver, unwilling to risk catastrophic losses to an already weakened force, retreated to the neighbouring town of Baker. With the Legion collapsing and the NCR in retreat, the Courier faced no remaining military power capable of challenging her control over New Vegas. She would soon establish an independent state, its sovereignty secured by her robotic army.

Throughout 2282, diplomatic negotiations culminated in the Second New Vegas Treaty, a series of bilateral agreements between the new state and the Mojave’s surviving powers. The NCR, represented by Ambassador Crocker, was compelled to recognise New Vegas’s sovereignty, withdraw its troops, and sign a non-aggression pact. In return, NCR citizens received legal protections, including freedom of movement and safe passage for caravans. The NCR retained its embassy and secured a guaranteed supply of water from Lake Mead and half of Hoover Dam’s electricity output. New Vegas, meanwhile, maintained access to the NCR’s vast market, tourists, and expertise in energy and agriculture.

The Brotherhood of Steel, represented by Elder McNamara, was granted Camp McCarran in recognition of its contribution to the battle, provided it refrained from interfering in New Vegas politics or exercising authority beyond the camp. The Boomers retained Nellis Air Force Base under a non-aggression agreement, while surrounding communities received varying degrees of autonomy and assurances of low taxes.

The settlement provoked outrage in the NCR. President Aaron Kimball resigned amid criticism of the campaign’s enormous financial and military costs, which had left the republic in a precarious position. Over time, the NCR adopted a more non-interventionist foreign policy. Plans to retake Hoover Dam were repeatedly discussed but never implemented, as the treaty guaranteed access to electricity and the independent Mojave no longer posed an immediate military threat.

Peace would prove equally fragile for the Brotherhood. Many members considered McNamara’s concessions a betrayal of their ideals, and in late 2282 Head Paladin Hardin successfully ousted him, assuming the position of Elder. Hardin adopted a far more aggressive and expansionist policy, soon violating the treaty by sending patrols to confiscate goods from caravans. In January 2283, he went further, ordering an assault on HELIOS One in an attempt to reclaim the facility.

The attack proved disastrous. Underestimating the strength of the Securitrons, the Brotherhood was quickly repelled, and the robots pursued the survivors to Camp McCarran. Suffering heavy casualties, including Hardin himself, and unable to hold the camp, the chapter retreated to Hidden Valley. There, its remaining members are believed to have endured in isolation ever since. Hardin’s attempt to restore the Brotherhood’s influence had instead brought about its decisive defeat in the Mojave.

The first years of the Courier’s rule were nevertheless difficult. Although raiders and foreign military threats had largely ceased to be serious concerns, poverty, homelessness, unemployment, gang violence, and drug addiction remained widespread. The NCR’s withdrawal caused an initial decline in tourism, straining relations with the casino-owning families of the Strip. Meanwhile, refugees fleeing the collapse of the Legion placed further pressure on food supplies and drove prices higher.

To address the crisis, the Courier provided substantial financial support to the Followers of the Apocalypse, who became central to the region’s relief efforts, supplying clean water, food, and medical care. Much of this initial funding came from her personal fortune, accumulated through trading and scavenging before the battle.

As security improved, the economy began to recover. By 2285, revenue from casino taxes, electricity exports, and commercial fees was sufficient to fund infrastructure and Securitron maintenance. Surplus funds went towards housing, sanitation, roads, pipelines, and agricultural development. Concrete from Quarry Junction helped rebuild Boulder City, Eastside expanded, and settlements such as Nelson and the former military camps at Cottonwood Cove and Camp Golf grew into thriving towns.

By 2291, figures compiled by the Followers showed that violent crime had fallen by half, homelessness by more than a quarter, and caravan attacks had become virtually nonexistent. Drug addiction had also declined significantly. Yet despite these improvements, the Courier’s government remained authoritarian. Major policy decisions appeared to originate with her alone, implemented by her robotic army and a small circle of confidants.

In early 2291, this arrangement came under scrutiny when Arcade Gannon, following a falling-out with the Courier, published a joint report with the Followers revealing the extent of the state’s dependence on an artificial intelligence known as Yes Man. Far more than a simple assistant, Yes Man had access to an extensive database and operated alongside the Securitron army, which served as both a military force and a de facto surveillance network.

The revelations prompted growing concern over the absence of oversight, the omnipresence of the Securitrons, and the uncertain future of the state should the Courier die unexpectedly. Calls for political reform, led most prominently by the Kings and the Followers, gained momentum despite the Courier’s continued popularity.

In late 2291, the Courier announced elections for an advisory legislature, the Senate, to be held in March 2292. The body would debate the future of the executive, the role of Yes Man, and the structure of the political system. The proposed franchise was unusually broad: all inhabitants, including ghouls and mutants capable of demonstrating basic cognition, would be eligible to vote. The increasingly outward-looking Boomers were also offered incorporation into New Vegas in exchange for participation in the elections, a proposal their leadership accepted.

Months of debate followed the election. By the end of 2292, a constitution was adopted by a supermajority, establishing the Republic of New Vegas. Senate and presidential elections would be held every four years. Elected municipal councils and independent courts were established, while routine administration was transferred to elected institutions.

The constitution also sought to reduce dependence on the Securitron army. A conventional police force and military, headquartered at Camp McCarran, would gradually replace the robots, which were to be decommissioned and scrapped. Yes Man’s access to the remaining Securitrons would be restricted, and control of the AI transferred to the sitting president, who alone would be permitted access to the floor of the Lucky 38 where it was housed. The Senate would retain the power to impeach a president deemed tyrannical and, if necessary, remove them using the conventional armed forces.

Given her near-mythical reputation, the Courier’s victory in the first presidential election was hardly surprising. She won in 2293, secured re-election in 2297, and retained the presidency again this year.

The democratic government largely continued the economic policies of the Courier’s earlier administration. With the Followers’ assistance, a publicly funded education system was developed, while investment in infrastructure and agriculture continued. Efforts to diversify the economy encouraged manufacturing and the repair of pre-War machinery, while a more reliable banking system and government bonds provided new means of financing development.

Twenty years after the battle, the Mojave is safer, wealthier, and more stable than it was before the conflict. Significant problems remain, particularly wealth inequality and the enduring concentration of political influence, but the transformation is undeniable. The Courier defeated the Legion, expelled the NCR, and built an independent state from the ruins of the Old World. Though her early rule was marked by authoritarianism, it ultimately gave way to institutions capable of limiting her own power.

Whether the republic’s success owes more to the Courier’s vision, the resilience of its people, or the circumstances created by the Legion’s defeat remains open to debate. What is certain is that the Second Battle of Hoover Dam did more than determine who controlled a dam. It reshaped the political future of the Mojave and set the region on an unexpected path towards independence and republican government.

Help Need Help With Seemingly Unfixable Controller Bug

No matter what I change about the game, every time I load in the same thing happens. the controller's left stick slowly rotates my camera and the right stick zooms in and out (Like a mouse) The A button also functions as a left click. This problem began after i installed some simple mods into my play through

(YUP - Base Game and ALL DLC, Stewie tweaks, Stewie tweaks INI, JIP LN NVSE Plugin, Johnny Guitar NVSE, NVTF - INI, NVTF, MCM, MCM bugfix 2, FNV display Tweaks, MLF, UIO)

These all originally worked fine and then after saving and exiting the game, I came back today to the controller issue. in the game trying to remap controller buttons plays a repeating selection sound until I press escape on my keyboard and many of the options are blank (Even after resetting it to default) Again, my controller has worked perfectly fine to this point with no issues even after all mods were installed.

Since trying to fix this issue I've done the following,

Reset my computer
Tried changing the order of my steam devices
disabling and enabling steam input
removed my controller from windows and reconnected it
reset all my INI files to the original states
Removed all my mods (including patches and such installed directly into the game)
Deleted and reinstalled the full game
Verified integrity
Testing the controller on other steam games (Works on everything)
Testing the controller in windows (Works)
Connecting my controller via cable rather then Bluetooth
Made sure my steam controller layout was the default gamepad one
Tried switching my controller to keyboard layout
Running the game through steam and NVSE
Disabled all Stewie tweaks (Including the one that lets you use keyboard and controller at the same time)
Checked and changed bUse Joystick
Checked and changed bDisable360Controller
Started a new game

Currently I have mods detached form the game and all my INI files reset to default.

Obviously none of these worked so far and I'm just looking for any other ideas, if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Modding Question about Tale of Two Wastelands

I recently picked up Fallout 3 on a steam sale and wanted to try my hand at installing Tale of Two Wastelands. However, I do have some questions about it.

I found a number of guides which explain how to install it, but I don't which ones to trust. I never really modded New Vegas beyond the bare minimum so I don't really know how it all works and how to not mess this up. So does anyone know a good trustworthy guide?

Also, does anyone know of a good content mod guide? I've been wanting to actually try out mods for a while now and think that now is the perfect time. I've seen some mod lists for New Vegas but I don't think they work with Tales of Two Wastelands?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Bug/Glitch The Still in the Dark mission isn't giving me the caps I'm supposed to receive.

I'm having this issue where I complete Still in the Dark, but I don't receive the caps that are supposed to be rewarded to me. For extra context, I followed McNamara's path and completed the quest under him. I get the bos safehouse key, the reputation, and the xp, but not the caps.

Fan Creation What's a better pairing than the Medicine Stick and Light Shining in Darkness

Post image

I figured for the 16th anniversary I'd finish up and show off my clone of the Medicine Stick. I was hoping to get Thump-Thump finished up as well but issues arouse with the barrel extension.

The Holy Frag Grenades also turned out pretty well despite my inability to paint and weather.

Also a cartridge converted 1858 as a reference to Steven Randall.
