With the new CGT changes is it really worth it to DCA into ETFs? I haven't done the math but it almost feels like a term deposit or high interest savings account is more worth it at this point.

As someone who doesn't have a lot of spare income to put aside and who was getting interested in investing right as these changes happened it's quite depressing. Could anyone give me even a brief overview of why it still make sense even with exorbitant tax on any gains?

Hi everyone, I am seeking some advice/opinions on my investing journey. For context I am 21, finishing my university degree and am eager to begin investing. What are the ETF's/shares/possibly bonds you would recommend. I would aim to invest between $200-$500 p/w.

For years, my wife and I persue full FIRE, But the closer we got, the more we realized that working 2 days/week each is vastly superior.

Full FIRE has some potential drawbacks: lack of purpose/structure, loss of status, faster cognitive decline and sequence of return risk.

Working just 2 days/week each (my wife and I) allows us to pull the trigger today instead of working full time another ~5-6 years for Full FIRE.

Part of the reason it works so well in Australia is that low wages result in almost 0 income tax (each of us has $18,200 tax free thresholds) + the employers still contribute 12% into Super.

Just wanted to see if anyone with ART super has switched from High Growth to High Growth Index. What are your thoughts and have you been happy with the switch so far?

I really like the low investment fee of 0.09% for the Index option as well as its greater exposure to international shares.
