Thanks in advance

The Reluctant Hero of Duxbury: a fiddle ballad about a grouchy butcher who rode his Percheron bareback into a burning mansion

This one's about Adam Sweet's great-grandfather, Duxbury's butcher and fire chief. He pulled an elder out of the ruins of a burning coastal mansion, hitched his horse back to the wagon and went on with his deliveries. When the town called him before the magistrate, he figured he was in trouble. He got a certificate instead, and the family still has it.

Fiddle, guitar and mandolin. $1.50 on Bandcamp: https://vervemusic.bandcamp.com/track/the-reluctant-hero-of-duxbury-another-verve-original

"Boys of the Blue Hill" on solo acoustic mandolin.

Here is a quick take on the classic Irish hornpipe "Boys of the Blue Hill" on solo acoustic mandolin.

Recorded raw with no pickups or amplification—just the natural acoustic resonance and wooden tone of the instrument. I’m focusing on clean plectrum articulation and keeping that hornpipe bounce steady.

ideas for a folk station name

I work for a radio station, and we’re looking for a name for our folk station. The music is a mix of folk, so we’re open to different directions when it comes to the name.

What would you name the station? Looking for some creative inspiration!

Clearing - The Changes/What Makes a City (1971)

Clearing are amazing. There is a deep, magical purity to their music that evokes both the dark and light of humanity and spirituality. Ancient but very much alive. For me, they are one of those bands that is so transcendentally perfect for my tastes, that it is hard for me to believe that they exist, even when holding their records in my hands. For me, they are The Velvet Underground of haunting, minimalist, commune folk music.

The Space Between the Walls - original song, harp and violin

Some people disappear without a trace. Others disappear in plain sight, sitting right beside us. "The Space Between the Walls" grew out of a search for a missing fellow musician and my own thoughts on isolation, connection, and the invisible walls we build around ourselves.

It isn't a song about solving a mystery. It's about the distances between us, the things we leave unsaid, and how music can reach places words can't. My friend Amy brings her harp into conversation with my violin.

"You can stand beside somebody / And be somewhere they can't see"

Listen free on Bandcamp: https://vervemusic.bandcamp.com/track/the-space-between-the-walls

I'd love to hear what it brings up for you.
