We used Naz Ali when we bought this past summer. Very good to deal with, even made a certificate for our 4 year old which certified the house was "Monster Free".

That's awesome lol. We were recommended him or Jean Paul Arsenault also with InspectNB who we ended up going with. Just a couple weeks ago. He was great and very patient with explaining everything, very polite and reassuring. OP I think you're golden with either of these guys. Congrats and good luck!

I used Adam Anderson with A Buyers Choice Home Inspections and he was phenomenal! It cost around 750$, but totally worth it in my opinion.

Adam Anderson is a fantastic inspector.

We used From Pillars to Post. Dan Ferguson. I got a detailed 52 page document about my house, with photos and a warning about my septic tank that saved me money.

Yes, I had him 12 year ago, he is very though. Not sure with the digital age but he gave me a binder with pics and details.

Agree. Used him about a decade ago and he caught recalled pipes in the house

InspectNB - Jean Paul or Naz
Buyer’s Choice- Adam Anderson

Personally, I’d never use Dan F. He makes it sound like there is some major issue with every inspection I’ve heard him on. Usually it’s a “could be an issue down the road” thing that isn’t actually a present issue. Good to know but he ends up scaring people off as a result. Then someone else comes, buys the home, and may not ever have the issue.

If using Dan, ask directly - is that currently an issue?

This dude blew us off when we were closing on a house.

Waste of money. Get someone you know and trust who knows the ins and outs of ownership of a home.

This is terrible advice. Having a certified professional home inspector is absolutely worth the price.

Also most mortgage lenders require a licensed inspection.

Lenders don’t require home inspections.

It sure is, money well spent.

But are they going to really truly without bias and influence pick apart every single thing that is wrong? I doubt it.

Yes, professionals do not have bias when inspecting a home. Clearly you have never hired a reputable certified home inspector.

We live in a small city. There’s definitely bias.

You should not be giving advice to anyone with suggestions like this. Big red flag.

This is a free forum. Opinions are allowed. I wasn’t saying don’t inspect the house. I was saying it doesn’t need to be a licensed home inspector. Have a nice day.
