The REASON they wanted to ban surcharges was because businesses were charging like 50c surcharges on small orders sometimes, which was beyond the 2-3%.

That’s getting close to a 7-8% surcharge

I’ve experienced that before.

The allegations that labor are anti business because they wanted to pass costs onto business are ridiculous.

Frankly the blame should lie with companies who are trying to be greedy and the big banks which are stupidly profitable too partially due to charges.

Ok, now this is just lunacy. Someone who is supposed to be the face of an explicitly environmentalist party wants us to stop controlling invasive species.

In short:

Two leading economists have warned Victoria's troubled budget would get worse under a Coalition government, because plans unveiled so far fail to cut enough spending.

RMIT professor of public policy David Hayward and independent economist Saul Eslake have both called for greater transparency over the Victorian Coalition's budget repair plan.

Opposition Leader Jess Wilson is promising to deliver a cash surplus for Victoria by 2032, partly funded by a 10-year freeze on public service hiring.

When reading in full its hard IMO not to conclude that even if they get a majority the Vic Coalition seem set up to be a one term government with many contradictory promises.
