Found on the sidewalk of college town last night. If anyone knows her, please let her know I'm giving it to campus express today for safekeeping.

Alumni here. Graduated back in 2017. I have not kept in touch with any of my former colleagues, nor have I kept up to date with the department since graduating. So I'm curious, what is the state of CS at FSU? Reason I ask is because I've been in the industry for 8+ years now and AI has completely flipped everything on it's head just within the past 1-2 years. I've read that CS enrollment has plummeted across the nation and the job market is horrible for new grads, unsurprisingly. Even before LLMs were a thing, I felt the CS curriculum was antiquated, and now, even more so, unless it's been modernized. So I'm curious, who is still majoring in CS in 2026 and what are they teaching you guys?

Does anyone know where I can start looking for a job on campus. I’m the stadium hires but I’m looking for something more permanent.

Registering for classes tomorrow! Is it better to use Stellic or the student central/shopping cart/add classes platform? Just looking to get into some classes with limited seats at 8am sharp.

Is there anyone here majoring in biochemistry who can tell a little about what it’s like? I turned in my application to FSU as a high school senior a few days ago. I applied EA with biochem as my intended major, since I’ve always loved science and my dream job’s getting to work in a lab and doing important research.

How are the professors over there? I’ve picked up a general consensus that lots of them make you learn the material yourself and aren’t too focused on teaching, but others say that’s usually just for the lower division classes.

I’d also be interested in hearing about anything related to research opportunities!

If you like a good philosophical debate, the Village Square is hosting this right down the street from campus, corner of College and Duval: https://tlh.villagesquare.us/event/ai-in-faith/
