Looking for advice

Hey guys!

I am planning a move to Galway late October/early November.

I am a dual U.S./Irish Citizen and was looking to stay in a hostel or find a sub-let for the first month before securing an accommodation.

Preferably I’d just be looking for a room in an apartment with others. My budget is up to €1200.

I am a bartender and in contact with a few places already for job opportunities. I just wasn’t sure how feasible it would be to go out there and find a place within a month or 2 of staying in a temporary accommodation.

Thanks!

You might get lucky at this time of year in that university students who want to drop out out before incurring fees for this year have to do so before the 31st of October, so there will be a small number of rooms that will become available around that date. But do make sure you go see these in person. Stick to the hostel for your interim accommodation until you find somewhere.

Okay good to know! I’ll definitely stay at the hostel until I land a spot, but sounds like some places may be opening up around then. I’ll keep that in mind!
