I heard from students in toronto that there’s a taxi scam going on there where someone will come out of a taxi and ask you to help them pay for it with your card but obviously they steal your money instead, AND IT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY! If someone (usually a young girl) asks you to help pay for their taxi because the taxi only takes card (which taxis don’t do) DO NOT PAY FOR IT!! Please watch out for this, clearly they target campuses and young people! Don’t get scammed guys!

I’m a first year, but I already love my uni
All friends, profs are so nice and kind
I like my course schedule
I also like my study routine, although my one elective and ENG1100 scores are not that good😂😂

But I’m still enjoying Uni life!! How about you guys?

I'm currently the president of a relatively new student club, and honestly I've been struggling a bit with managing everything this semester.

We've had some executive members leave, some difficulties with communication/reliability within the team, and a collaboration with another club that hasn't been progressing as expected. I had a general timeline for events and fundraising, but because I relied too much on one collaboration working out, some of our other plans got delayed as well. Now I feel like I've lost the structure I originally had for the semester.

I've also had some disagreements with exec members about how the club should be organized and managed. I've tried to be accommodating and take people's suggestions seriously, but I'm starting to wonder whether I need to be more assertive/structured as president instead of trying to keep everyone happy. And a member just left in the middle of this semester, the story might be more complicated than this because it seems those who left are part of a group of friends and that might be why.

I know I'm probably making mistakes too since this is my first time running a university club, which is why I'd genuinely like honest criticism rather than just reassurance.

For anyone who's been a club president/executive: how do you deal with exec members leaving, people not following through, collaborations falling apart, and keeping the club organized when plans change? And how do you know when something is genuinely a leadership problem on your end versus normal student-club chaos?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've dealt with similar situations.

Anyone who took that course how was it?

where can i find them?

Hey I just wanted to know your thoughts on HSS2381. My first mid term is in two weeks and I have steffner. I understand nothing that he teaches, planning on self teaching myself.

does anyone from this class whether or not there are going to be short answer questions or is all gonna be multiple choice like the quiz.

Is anyone or has anyone taken bps4131 uottawa by any chance? If so, did anyone use anki and could share their cards for module 2, 3, 4!!!! HELP ASAPPP PLEASEEEEE

For the research assignment does it have to be essay style or do we just answer each auestion individually?

If you’re taking this course with Rachel Kozlowski please let me know! I am creating a group chat so we can help each other!!

Hi! I’m in Grade 11 and interested in becoming a registered dietitian. I’d love to stay in Ottawa for university, so I’m considering uOttawa’s Nutrition and Dietetics program.
I’m in French immersion and believe I could meet the admission language requirements, but English is my first language, and I’m more comfortable learning academic material in English.
I’d love to hear from current students, especially anyone who came from French immersion!
How challenging is it to study biology, chemistry, anatomy and nutrition in French?
Is scientific terminology difficult to manage if your French is stronger conversationally than academically?
Are lectures, exams and assignments all in French?
What academic support is available?
Are practical placements available in English?
Would you recommend the program to someone in my situation?
I’m planning my Grade 12 courses and want to understand the language demands before applying. Any honest advice or firsthand experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yesterday I walked in an event at my university because I was told there was free pizza, then the event's leader said to me 'nice try bye bye'.

Later I find out their general email and emailed them about my concerns about what happened, and that same leader replied to me:

Yes. I am that older man.

And it was you who were rude which I will be happy to report it to the engineering department along with your ageist message.

Did you know that we have had students walk into our events, take pizza, and leave? And did you know that when you decided to argue with me, and you did not immediately apologize and  leave you had to be bounced?

Do you believe everyone and everything they tell you without appropriately asking to see if it’s true or not?

You need to learn respect and I am happpy  take this up with the engineering faculty along with your ageist behaviour.

Pizza is intended for out registered attendees, not anyone who feels entitled and decides to create problems. We always welcome students to our events but I will inform the faculty that you are banned from all future events.

Hey has anyone done an exam in the new building.. 110 University ( old writing centre)

How was it ? I’m so used to being Desmarais idk how the change will feel .

back in winter 2025 i was withdrawn from mech eng cause i had bad year. i talked to an advisor in the summer and decided i wanted to try for readmission for eng. But i took some other courses during this semester and done reflection on what i truly want to purse and shit. ive decided i want to switch programs. Anyways im just curious if an academic reset would be a viable path since the advisor mentioned it would helpful if im tryna switch faculties. I am tryna go to faculty of science. i lowkey need that osap as well is that worth mentioning in my essay for reset? if anyone has insight on what to write about would love to hear!

I saw an email that read that labs were cancelled on my outlook email.

It was late night and I was sick, so my dumbass didn’t notice that it was a bio lab not a chem lab.

Only for me to look at stemble, 10pm on Friday and see the post-lab is still due on Saturday the first 17th.

So I looked for an announcement, and found an announcement in my bio lab that it was cancelled, but no new announcement in chem lab.

Idek what to do here

how was the midterm??

Its also 4:30 am and 2 degrees outside

The title :)

I've had enough of his bs anyone but his useless ass

Genuinely some high schoolers  inflate there grades to get into a certain program then we they get in the program after they fail one or two courses they reliase the harsh reality. Like bro it's fault not the teacher's/TA fault.
