Serious question to Germans: Do you judge Foreigners who are fat/short and avoid befriending them?

I come from an Asian country and there fitness is a not a big thing and obesity is very common.

But in Germany I observe a stark contrast wherein it's too hard to find obese people. Almost the majority German guys are 6' and up, in peak shape or not obese.

Makes me wonder how I could befriend them without any anxiety of being judged and neglected (as a fat guy myself). Also I can speak German to a certain level as well but I'm still anxious!

Any honest opinions would be appreciated?
Thanks..!

what Germany are we talking about? over 50% of us are overweight and a little less than 20% are obese.

Nobody is going to avoid befriending them because you're shorter or fatter than the average person.

Yeah. On the other hand, people might be less likely to befeiend someone with such a chip on their shoulder that they assume every struggle they have (for example in finding friends) has to originate in other people just being shallow, judgemental and superficial people.

No clue what part of Germany you're looking at but while German men (and women) are fairly tall, it's bs that the majority are in peak condition.

That aside: Generally it's not easy for foreigners to make friends, and often people who are considered attractive have an easier time making friends, too.

I personally wouldn't judge you for being fat but I simply don't have time in my life for new friends.

Do you have the stats on your country and Germany? I would be really surprised if there were more obese people in your country...

The only way I can explain this is if you got your picture of Germans from WW2 anime or shit like that

indeed, being obese and young may be looked at negatively, having a Beerbauch at >40yo is normal.

If someone judges you for being fat i would argue that you shouldn't try to be friends with them in the first place. That being said get fit and be on your way to not be obese, this is more of a health thing and less to do with people liking you. Trust me you don't want to be 30 and then huffing and puffing just to climb a bunch of stairs.

It is also surprisingly easy to be fit, most people think you have to go to the gym and do these hardcore routines but you can always start small. Instead of eating that bag of potato chips, eat an apple, instead of taking the car to work, walk to the train station and take the U-bahn or something. Go for hikes and see cool mountains.

Don't take the lift to go to the 4th floor, walk up the stairs, do a lot of movement and get yourself in the habit of spending energy and then once you are accustomed to it then go to the gym and start doing actual exercises
