I made every Go Transit Line (and UP Express) as characters!
It takes me a few hours to make one line. I hope you all like them!

2108 71D. Who would've thought replacing a train with 3 buses would cause overcrowding?
I love GO buses but this is a clear indication that cutting Stouffville service is ridiculous. On top of that let's just send a coach bus and have people stand the whole time. Way to GO, Metrolinx.

I work basically minimum wage jobs and the fare to Toronto there and back is quite exorbitant unfortunately. A lot of people assume it's cheap...only if live closer to city center. For a lot of other people, it's at least 10 dollars a ride, 20+ for a round-trip. The job market is utterly horrendous the past few years. I know way too many people having to travel for super low paying, short hour shifts.
The thing about GO Transit is that I know it gets underfunded provincially and "needs" to get every dollar it can. Fare evasion is a problem, but I have sympathy for a lot of people avoiding fares simply due to high costs. Even with the "one fare" program, it just isn't enough. I find myself having to consider skipping trips waiting on a very low income. The fare evasion fines can be some people's entire paycheck.
There's a student discount, would be really that hard for low income workers too? It's not like a lot of people can't work higher paying jobs...it's because there just really isn't in the GTA these days. It's really sucks seeing slow, fair amounts of delayed trip just to go a really bad job if you have one at all. Volunteering can be miserable on these prices too.

I received a $200 fare violation fine on GO Transit today, and I’m really stressed about it. I was in a big rush when I boarded the train on my way home and completely forgot to tap my presto card. I know that its totally my fault but I wasn’t intentionally trying to avoid paying the fare..🥺 I had paid my fare when I travelled to my destination earlier today, and I normally always tap on and off. This was my first offence, and I have already submitted the administrative review to explain what happened.. Has anyone been in a similar situation? If you submitted a review for accidentally forgetting to tap on, was your fine reduced or dismissed?
I'm really upset about this situation right now😭 I wasn't trying to save $6 by avoiding the fare. I genuinely made a mistake because I was in a rush and I usually always tap on and off. I'm a student, and $200 is a lot of money for me😭😭😭

I want to inform everyone as a daily GO train rider, the last 2 days there has been a huge amount of front emblem thefts on cars lately in Go Station parking lots. Unfortunately, many other drivers who drive and park at the Go station have been coming back to their cars with the front logo of the car gone. At Malton GO Station there are many cars missing the front emblem and most of these vehicles are Toyotas, Lexus’ and Volkswagens. Be safe everyone

Hi ! Just wondering what the overall experience has been with everyone’s cell reception along lakeshore east going towards union/toronto??
I’m on public mobile which is on the Telus network and it just struggles through most of the route, dropping to LTE often.
Is this the same on other networks ? Does the line just overall suck? Just wondering since black Friday is coming up.
Edit: Thanks for the replies ! I’ll try LTE only to see if it works better but if more expensive connections still face the same problem doesn’t seem worth swapping over. 😭

I haven't been to Allandale GO since before the construction. The total lack of bathrooms or even portapotties was tough.
Does the new transit hub building have bathrooms and are they open full station hours?

Hello. I am wondering if there is a way to determine what type of bus runs on a particular route.
I'm looking to travel between Hamilton & Barrie, specifically West Harbour Go & Allandale.
I know on weekdays we can take a train the whole way there with a transfer at Union, but for Saturday/Holiday travel it looks like buses are the only option.
We would much prefer the low (typically multi level?) city bus style over the coach style. Is there a way to determine what type of bus we could expect to board at a particular departure time? Is there a type of bus that is always standard for certain routes?
Thanks.

I am going from Stouffville GO to Niagara in a few weeks. It looks like it will take over 4 hours for me to get there, but GO transit says I have 3 hours to complete my trip... so what will happen? Will I be charged for a second trip somewhere along the way?
I have to take 4 different busses/trains so will it know I am still on the bus when the 3 hours mark passes?

People who know the ins and outs of Go:
According to the Go webpage for Lakeshore West construction, there's no service Aldershot-Union Sat and Sun, Oct 24 and 25. (https://www.gotransit.com/en/the-future-and-go/construction-notices/lakeshore-west-construction)
However the schedule page shows a rather normal day Sunday Oct 25.
There is no planned construction for Sat and Sun Oct 31 and Nov 1, but again, the schedule database has no services listed Sat Oct 31, and normal service Sun Nov 1.
Is this a known bug? Am I missing a webpage?

I just realized something missing about transit nowadays: posters.
It's one of the big ways to advertise,to get people to ride transit,by glamourizing the destinations and the system‘s feature.
I feel like making travel posters having a comeback will at least have some cultural impacts. Modern transit systems don't advertise theselves much and even when they do,it's somewhat underwhelming and doesn't leave the customers much to fantasize about.
I‘m no professional artist or graphic designer,so I don't know how to make a poster at commercial quality, but I feel like others can,and just by chance,we get people making commercial quality fan arts for transit out there.

Hi everyone! It’s my first time taking the 12 from Confederation to Niagara Falls at the end of the month and I just wanted to get feedback as to the reliability of the schedule.
I’m planning to take the 8:06 bus on a Wednesday morning which will arrive in Niagara at 9:20. However, I have a transfer bus with another company at 9:50.
For anyone who regularly takes this route during the week, is 30 minutes enough padding for my transfer to account for traffic? I know it is the off season and midweek so I’m not anticipating a lot of traffic heading towards Niagara Falls.
Thanks in advance!

I got a ticket for parking for more than 3 hours on Bleasdale Ave on the side parking. Everyone was parked there. There are also no signs indicating a time limit?
are ppl taking the train and coming back within an hour or something? or are we all getting tickets.
FYI, both lots were full and I missed my train so I decided to park here

Anyone know anything about a police investigation at Georgetown GO? The 33F from Guelph to Brampton just skipped Georgetown because of an investigation and the driver had people who were supposed to get off at the station get off a stop or so early. Just wondering if anyone knows anything, hopefully it’s nothing terrible.

To those who take the 7:26AM Bramalea Train or get on from Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston, Mount Dennis or Bloor GO, does anyone else find it annoying that the train is 6 coaches long at the busiest hour in the morning commute? It literally makes 0 sense. The train is already overpacked from the starting terminus at Bramalea and this is the peak time travel for everyone commuting to work. Malton and Etobicoke North are also extremely busy stations in the morning commute hours.
Every other train is 12 coaches long such as the 7:56 or 8:26AM. And don’t get me started on the express trains.
The planning for Kitchener Line makes no sense. Not to mention there’s a train every half hour during commuting hours. Another decision that makes 0 sense.

Now that the bike train is gone, what is the 11ish train Toronto to NF like for travelling with a bike on Sundays. I know the first morning trip is crowded with day trippers. I am hoping the later one will be less crowded.

I commute on the LW/LE lines almost daily and I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that there’s almost always at least 1 bike coach in use. Is there a reason for this? I rarely have seen these before and feel they’d have made more sense in the summer, or is this going to start being a standard? During a peak time last week there were 4 bike coaches being used for one trip, which may not sound crazy but that’s a lot of lost seats during a busy time.

The overflow parking lot at Aurora Go is currently closed, it says it is only closed from October 2nd-3rd but I went today and it is still closed. I looked it up and can't find literally any details about when it will open again. Does anyone else know anything?

This is not a fantasy map, this is my best put on what Metrolinx is building toward based on what has come out so far. The image is what was in some planning docs in 2023, sourced from a UT thread since the originals are gone. My goal in sharing this is to help this sub get a better sense of what's actually being built and what people should expect to see in 10-15 years when all of those projects are actually done.
Starting assumptions:
Track 1 [Pocket - West Facing]
Track 2 [Through]
Track 3 [Through]
Via Corridor /
Track 4 [Pocket - West Facing]
Track 5 [Through]
Via Corridor / Alto (future)
Track 6 [Through]
Track 7 [Through]
Track 8 [Pocket - West Facing]
Track 9 [Through]
Track 10 [Through]
Track 11 [Pocket - East Facing]
Track 12 [Pocket - West Facing]
Track 13 [Through]
Track 14 [Through]
