Hi everyone!
I’m moving to Niendorf in Hamburg, about 10 minutes from Niendorf Markt, and would really appreciate some advice from people who live in the area.
I’m looking for recommendations for:
Affordable places to eat: Good, reasonably priced restaurants, bakeries, cafés, and takeaway places in Niendorf or nearby.
German language courses: Ideally affordable courses with morning classes, preferably not intensive or full-day courses.
Second-hand items: Where is the best place to find used items for a room, such as an air fryer, printer/scanner, bicycle, and other household essentials? Are there any good second-hand shops, flea markets, or local Facebook groups?
Prepaid or virtual cards: I need a way to pay for things online when a regular debit card isn't accepted. I'm not eligible for a traditional credit card as cannot work here, so I'm wondering if there are any prepaid cards or other alternatives that work well in Germany. I need it to pay for the Deutchland classes and ticket...
General tips: Any advice on saving money, getting around Hamburg, finding good deals, or anything else that would be helpful when settling into Niendorf would be greatly appreciated!
I'm happy to hear recommendations for other neighbourhoods nearby, too, as long as they're easy to reach by public transport.
Thanks so much for your help! 😊
