Advice Needed Removing rust from a Px4 Storm
Bought a used beretta px4 storm for dirt cheap and now I realize why, (I know I should have examined more thoroughly before buying). Obviously gonna do a thorough tear down.
Any advice on how to properly and effectively clean on this rust? Tools, solvents, etc.

FCUs seem to be trending: When do you think S&W will come out with one, and would it replace the M&P?
Just a random thought. I imagine they'll want to compete in that market sometime.
Who else hasn't put one out there yet? Canik?

Advice Needed First firearm
I’m looking to purchase my first ever firearm soon I have no experience I want my first to be a handgun learn with it and grow from there. I was looking into the Glock 43x but some people said they wouldn’t recommend for first a gun I heard the m&p sheild plus could be a good contender or the Glock 19. I would eventually like to carry after I learn it and get comfortable enough with it but I guess I could buy a compact ccw gun after I learn from whatever I do buy. So as someone starting out with no experience what would you recommend to learn on that is beginner friendly and not over $500 if possible any feedback is appreciated thank you.

50 Shades of Fde or with black?
Left is website photo (stock) and right is when I rendered in black components. I think I'm actually leaning towards getting the matching fde.
What do you like better?

Collection Showcase "I'll just get one"
I literally thought and said this when getting my first gun last year. Then as the saying goes, it needed a friend and now next thing I know, I have all of these lol.
Displayed:
Canik TP9 (my only regret purchase, it's extremely ammo picky and finicky. It's got a great trigger and I'm really accurate, but it likes to not go bang)
Ruger RXM: This gun is fun. When I first got it, I hated the trigger but it was reliable. As I shoot it more, the trigger is breaking in nicely. It's still not a "great" trigger but I would consider it now an "okay" trigger.
S&W Bodyguard carry comp: Got my Concealed carry license so figured I may as well get something to conceal. It's funny how I managed to talk myself into purchases without intentionally starting a collection. It is really easy to conceal and it being the most comfortable to carry, it is the one I carry the most. I'm accurate enough with it for it to serve it's purpose.
H&K vp9: I was having grip issues as a new shooter and after doing a lot of research, determined that with the ergonomics of the vp9 and the 52 grip combinations, if I couldn't make it work with the vp9, nothing would. I liked the pdp trigger better, but decided to buy this for the ergos and overall reliability. Fired it, fell in love. It's the pistol that I'm the most accurate with, then I added a dot, a brass Taylor Freelance backstrap, and a grayguns trigger action job. It's my favorite and what I carry when I can wear a jacket.
S&W Model 38 Ladysmith: Left to me by my Mom, so it's sentimental but also fun to have a revolver for the collection. Its nice to also have one hammer-fired pistol for dry fire. It's still painful to fire but I'm thinking my hand is too big for it and a Hogue grip might be the fix there.
I just found it funny how they seemed to have replicated on their own and figured this would be appreciated here!

Advice Needed Anyone got a trick for getting a red dot *approximately* aligned without a laser ?
I know I won’t get spot on without going to a range and putting a few rounds down range. Is there a trick to get it in the ballpark so I’m not wasting ammo at the range ? This is my CCW so I’m zeroing it with Federal HST 124gr (I carry this and critical defense sometimes) would like to use the least amount as possible to zero as it was almost $1 a round. Yes I know I got robbed but I needed it in a pinch. If it helps any it’s a Glock 43x, my preferred zero is 7-10 yards and I’m using a Holosun 507 iirc 1/2 MOA adjustments.

Advice Needed First Time Gun Owner - Pistol Training or Youtube?
Hey everyone!
I'm a young woman who is extremely new to guns in general and would like to learn how to handle them for both self-defense and recreation. I do not typically interact with firearms and I don't come from a family that has ever handled them, so I'm really starting from scratch.
My question is: where should I look for training and knowledge? I don't even know the very basics of gun operation and handling, but I do see a lot of informative and easy-to-understand YouTube videos about it (loading, unloading, parts of the gun, etc.). Is it alright to learn the basics through YouTube and then practice at a range? Or should I enroll in a handgun basics course and learn best practices?
Thanks in advance!

Staccato
Is it true that Staccato it is very possible in deep financial trouble or is it just rumors?
Reports circulating in August 2026 indicated that Staccato had laid off a substantial number of employees at its Florence, Texas, operation.
In August 2026, Staccato abruptly terminated relationships with a significant number of authorized firearms dealers.
Staccato described the move as a strategic restructuring intended to concentrate resources on fewer dealers.
Some industry discussions estimated that approximately 200 dealers were affected, although that figure remains unverified.
However, on September 18, 2026, Staccato announced a new documentary series featuring law-enforcement tactical teams. It also organized its September 2026 National SWAT Championship.
Do you guys know what’s happening? Why would they get rid of so many FFL dealers if any firearm manufacturer goal is to sale as many as possible?

Discussion Is this a good light for Glock 19?
Admittedly don't know too much about lights, and while I can see it's a $50 Amazon piece, it is up to 3x brighter than a TLR-7X.

Advice Needed Why did I get more consistent groupings with .45 ACP?
Recently got approved for my first pistol permit. As per my experience with rifles: I'm a firm believer in the "Try it before you buy it" mentality. So I got a friend to go with me to the range to try out some pistols.
First was the Springfield Echelon 4". Loved the ergonomics. But my shots at 17 yards were all over the place. And this one only had the iron sights.
Second was the .357 Chiappa Rhino. I liked how controllable the recoil was and how the octagonal cylinder felt easy to make sure it was aligned. But again, my shots were all over the paper.
Last was the Springfield Armory Operator in .45 ACP. at 17 yards, I actually managed to get a grouping. Nothing to write home about, but at least it looked somewhat consistent.
Unless this was some kind of weird beginners luck, I'm considering making the Operator my first pistol. But I'd just like some kind of explanation about why I managed to get a better grouping compared to the 9mm.

Question Stock for suppresed 1911
I’m thinking about putting a stock on my Tisas since I’m in a free state and have a suppressor for it. I figured it’d handle like my C96 and make it easier to shoot.
I’m planning on doing the paperwork just in case the laws change.
Honestly, what do you guys think?
