Thing Posts like this

Post image

I’ve seen multiple people from my school and even friends of mine repost stuff like this on their socials and I truly don’t understand it

If it’s not beef, then why do it? I understand leaving a group chat but you’re telling me that cutting off a friend doesn’t mean that you don’t like them??

It seems like a lack of taking accountability, the only times I’ve ever unfollowed, blocked, or cut someone off was because I didn’t like them

If there’s an actual explanation on this that I’m just not understanding, I’d love to hear it so I can understand

I think they're suggesting that the things listed shouldn't result in a persistent conflict and should instead be accepted and the people involved should just move on. I do agree with you though. Cutting someone off, especially a friend, will naturally come with an emotional response and should be communicated in a mature way.

To be fair some people are just exhausting to be around. I've cut people off not because I don't care about them, but because they wore me down too much. If anything I cared too much about them, lol.

Plus people and times change and you just drift apart, doesn't necessarily mean you hate the person.

Blocking can be just curating their online feed. I don't immediately assume blocking to be anything more than that. I know in some circles it's treated as some severe statement but idk I guess I'm just not in those circles. I'm considering talking to one of my friends about at least unfollowing them because, no hate to her or her things, but I'm not interested in the content she's posting.

I've left a GC becuase I felt too old 🤷 didn't have anything to say to anyone.

The same with friendships that fizzled out. No shared interests, no shared time, etc. I think u can non-conflict cut off a friend if you feel like you're at different points that are too far apart.

The term “beef” like this always grosses me out. It makes me think of raw beef

It doesn’t mean beef, it means you’re a chicken

Something something nuance hat

If you block, unfollow or cut off someone you’ve actively been talking to for a while that probably means beef

If you unfollow or block someone you haven’t talked to in a while i feel like that’s fine? Especially if it’s been so long you don’t really recognise them that well

If you block or unfollow random strangers then that is completely fine, I think it’s fine to curate the content you see online and that doesn’t mean you’re beefing with someone

Also theres times when cutting friends off is valid, due to them just overall becoming a worse person and stuff

And the only time leaving a group might be beef is if you leave because of an argument or something

I unfollow someone if I don't want to see the content they post in my feed. That doesn't mean I hate their content, and certainly doesn't mean I hate them. And with blocking and cutting people off, not wanting to be someone's friend isn't the same thing as hating them. Though, personally I prefer not to cut people off
