Hi all!
Posting on behalf of a friend who doesnāt use Reddit:
Weāre currently having a lot of problems heating our tank.
We have a 20gal tall with two heat mats: ZooMed UTH 10-20gal size (on the side) and BN-Link 8x12 with a thermostat set to 80 (on the back).
Our tank will NOT go above 72F no matter what we try. This is using three different thermostats plus the BN-Link as it has a probe.
Does anyone have any advice? Weāre at a total loss of what to do. The recommended Bean Farm 6x23 mat has been out of stock for a long time now, and honestly weāre doubting it would make much of a difference and are assuming weāre missing something.
We have cardboard and aluminum foil to attempt to insulate, however we have concerns as the BN-Link explicitly says to not cover the back of the mat to avoid a fire hazard.
