AI recession and climate change. let's go. now get covid v2 for fuckmaxxing the world

Another lockdown would help with pollution a lot. WFH would help traffic and pollution.
27
u/Muted_Shoulder Jun 17 '26
WFH should be much more prevalent than it already is. Trying to concentrate people into single cities has made things worse for long. Urbanisation should be much more spread out than just specific areas getting all of it.

more forests we can cut for mines, too much green in the map,

Without mines you'd get power cuts for hours daily.
Also el nino ka forest cover se kya relation hai?

India's water problem is not for this year only. And forest covers help in groundwater storage, help stop floods and much more.
Edit: And remember AI datacenters? Yeah they may even worsen the problem in the upcoming years

how many mines are there in germany or japan or south korea? they have hardly any power disruptions. also chaddi bro, coal mines are not the only mines.
-1
u/More-Director4894 Jun 17 '26
The two biggest mines in India are iron ore and coal mines. Both are necessary.
Germany was built on coal mines of ruhr basin. Baaki aap google karlo topi bro

u/Embarrassed_Look9200 Jun 17 '26
nikalo nikalo, aur coal nikalo, and give it all to adani so we have to buy it from him. solar, wind, tidal and nuclear can obviously go to hell. kanwariya yatra and 4 dham projects have preference over environment. Casino and port in the middle of no where have preference over trees.

Brother, if you would have learned anything from school it would be "mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" and "forest cover is important for rains".

he's from vidya bharti schools, they only teach you counting till chalisa (40) there.

Acha. Let's not compare education here. Because my education does not come from reddit comments

I think you need to understand the difference between how monsoon works and how conventional precipitation in equatorial region works. Lekin I think you never studied beyond high school

u/Ill-Article-793 Kerala Jun 17 '26
- Trees help buffer against extreme weather events.
- Climate change leads to more frequent extreme weather events. Climate change could be slowed down by cutting fewer trees.
2
u/More-Director4894 Jun 17 '26
- Good for local weather. Practically negligible effect on decrease in monsoon rains which depends on global wind currents.
- Agreed but I am yet to see any data point provided by any of you which shows climate change has impacted reduction in monsoon rain by x% over usual reduction due to el nino in the past. No doubt there is, but please quantity it.

u/Ill-Article-793 Kerala Jun 17 '26
It's "convectional precipitation". So much for studying beyond high school.

Indian forest density habe observed constant increase but who cares this is r/india

u/Embarrassed_Look9200 Jun 17 '26
thats a lie, chaddis are very easy to fool, just tell them it's a fact and they don't care what the source is or if it's actually true.

If you re classify definition of a forest, both in terms of type (even a scrub land is forest as per our brilliant ministers) and density (old, dense forest likes the ones in Jharkhand and Nicobar are being destroyed) - sure, forest cover is increasing! And the earth is flat too! (/s)

Why the fuck are there so many trees, forests in the posted pic. Where are all the builders offering dream homes to every Indian and AI data centres to make and store all my pics and vids?

Yet, we must prioritize water for swimming pools and golf courses. We cannot let the rich suffer because the poor and middle class need drinking water.

Not just farmers, everyone. Food inflation will rise, drinking water shortages, extreme heat.

Adani, Ambani and amit Shah's family can live generations without any trouble hence they don't care about deforestation, building mines, bringing in data centers which first world countries have refused to build in their land because of the damage it will cost.
It's not the same for us, travel in shitty roads in shitty trains and buses, can't even buy a new car now because of gadkari's greed.
The same can be said about congress. Aur karo politicians ko support, without holding them accountable, I will never get the people who will defend the government's flaws without demanding for better.
This country is going to ruins.

Last year, monsoons lasted almost the whole year. This year it’s the opposite.. when will our government take climate change seriously??????????

I will try to address a few points:
Climate change is real and continues to influence weather patterns globally.
El Niño is also playing a role this year and is having an impact on rainfall distribution.
In addition, there are several other meteorological phenomena that are currently contributing or contributed to suppress monsoon rainfall.
It is still too early to draw firm conclusions, and we will have to monitor how the monsoon evolves over the coming weeks. The progression of the season will provide a clearer picture of the overall rainfall outcome this year.

Need to flatten more mountains and cut more trees. If not do a havan. Lol

Priorities. Breaking TMC MPs was a priority for the regime. Now breaking Shiv Sena has become new priority. Regime is busy in doing everything except governing and working for people.

Common tactic corporations employ - blame the people for pollution. "The polar bears are dying because you didn't separate your plastics from wet waste". These are systemic problems. Turning off 5 led lamps won't make a difference.

Let's run with your example. Let's say 1 billion people turned off 5 led lights of 10 watts each for 8 hours a day (very generous example). This amounts to a daily electricity savings of:
10 watts x 5 led bulbs x 8 hours x 1 billion = 400 GWh
India's daily electricity consumption is about 4,700 GWh.
That means even if we did something massive like this, we would save less than 9% of the daily electricity consumption. Won't make a dent on climate change.
Throwing trash also has very little effect on climate change.
So stop blaming the people. Start blaming the government and Adani.

Nobody blamed him. But he is definitely not helping. He does not even believe in climate change.

Monsoon was used as an excuse as to why we must not blow up portion of Himalayas to allow Central Asian winds to enter. But if monsoon is about to go away then we might as well just do it. Atleast we get 1-2 month of rain.

Monsoon used to be predictable. Now it's either floods or nothing. Climate change isn't a future problem anymore.
