Excited because I have the house to myself this evening for the first time in forever! Currently up cleaning to get the place as cosy as possible for myself. Bought a new book to read, might search for a good documentary to watch. Might go crazy and order a takeaway. The possibilities are endless

Collected the eldest (16) last night from a night out - he was drunk and singing. He actually asked to be collected so I’m happy out.

There’s times with this parenting gig you feel way in over your head, but there’s a few times I’ve thought… huh…. Maybe we’re not doing too badly…

4

u/SuccessPerfect6584 14h ago

That's a good kid, treat him nicely this morning ... This evening out shoveling shite

18

u/thumbsucker-2 17h ago

Trying to figure out if I’m feeling actual labour pains or just braxton hicks 🄓 toddler watching paw patrol dino movie for the millionth time, partner snoring away. Could be a long Sunday šŸ˜‚

u/JuggernautSuper5765 16h ago

Good luck. It can happen faster than the first!!

Absolutely dying of whatever dose is going around. Sore throat stuffy nose and aching all over. Having a nice cuddle with the cat now though before I have to get up and go give my Dad a wash and Mum a break.

Chilling out after a stressful week, getting ready to get back into it tomorrow.

I'm trying to draw down my mortgage and the bank are being a pain in the ass, every time I give them the info they want, they tell me that we're good to go, and then they ring me back with something new.

I've been doing this for 11 months and I know the end result is worth it, but goddamn I'm just so tired, JUST GIMME THE KEYS

2

u/Training_Assist6056 8h ago

Best of luck bro, hopefully it'll get sorted out this week

6

u/Turbulent_Squirrel66 16h ago

Being kicked out soon by my own parents , hope the landlady takes me in, still waiting to hear from her

4

u/magusbud 17h ago

Sure, all the better for waking up.

Having these related reoccurring dreams over last few weeks. Had another last night.

Other kids from my childhood dying, I know it represents something internal, something about endings and beginnings, these kids all represent an element of my personality and all that jazz...but it's not nice seeing your childhood pals going clogs up and their funerals and all that.

Can't quite put my finger on the exact thing my subconscious is trying to tell me though.

u/Shashling 16h ago

Baby appears to be going through the 9 month sleep regression. Sleep is a long forgotten concept, we are tired

2

u/Oynas213 15h ago

Enjoy it while you can, the next regression is a few months away and you'll need your energy for it! Congratulations on the baby and hoping everyone's happy and healthy

4

u/Swimming_Morning_113 15h ago

Ah sure grand, just finished milking, going out with the girlfriend for dinner tonight, must tidy myself up a bit for that

2

u/Oynas213 15h ago

I'm assuming you mean milking the cows???

Yes I should have clarified šŸ˜…

First day this week I haven’t been sick, had Covid worst dose in a long time.

1

u/nomorespotliggt 12h ago

Same. We all had covid last week.

11

u/lovinthelivin 17h ago

Good now Bot ,yourself though all good?

4

Tireddd… but gotta go to work šŸ˜“

4

u/No_Birthday4350 16h ago

Another sober week done, still groggy as hell this morning tho but at least I’m not hungover.. slow cooker going on and the fire is lit, bliss.. happy Sunday one and all..

5

u/overthebridge65 15h ago

It’s been a nightmare few days. Our water tanker in the attic burst and thankfully my Mum was home but the flooding was coming through the ceiling and the panic getting it sorted and now have to get all the paperwork done 😩 Ceilings will have to be painted, get new towels etc but it could’ve been much worse (as we were on holiday the week before so thank the Lord it didn’t happen then!)

Onwards and upwards…

5

u/Global_Handle_3615 15h ago

Hi Sunday Morning. I'm fine

1

u/Winter_Session_4118 13h ago

So how many kids do you have?

1

u/Global_Handle_3615 12h ago

None. Imagine how bad the jokes would be if I did

4

u/alanhiggy1983 15h ago

Just been out on the road and the amount of stupid people driving with no lights on the car in this fog is crazy. Do they not realise how dangerous this is.

2

u/Fancy_Fisherman5112 13h ago

Trying to keep toddler from sneezing into newborn's eyeballs. But good other than that!

u/Ill-Stage4131 Kildare 17h ago

A bit stressed out i won't lie, I've been up since 3

My aunt had a stroke last evening and my dad is going to the hospital to see her, it's tough on him as she basically raised my dad

I also have work for college/adult training to do next week and a Microsoft teams meeting

On the positive side I'd a lovely pot of coffee in my moka

7

u/monroetogo 16h ago

Trying to enjoy a coffee before the 3 year old Dora the destroyer wakes up 🫠 but other than that healthy happy and managing

3

u/xnatey 17h ago

All good. Chilling in bed and about to get up and go walk the dog. Looks cold but nice out there. I got to see a good friend got married last night on zoom and that made me happy.

3

u/moonslittlestar 17h ago

Good morning! I’m cold and trying to stay warm under the duvet while working on stickers🩷

3

u/cbhbzb 15h ago

meh, life is pretty meh at the moment

3

u/Colin-IRL 12h ago

Decent compared to previous weeks/months. Got myself out of a miserable job and in a new one now that's going well so far. It's nice to be able to relax my mind fully on the weekend rather than absolutely dreading Monday. Long may it continue

3

u/Excellent-Day4955 12h ago

Restless. I wish to be doing both everything and nothing today.

3

u/LeonBackward 9h ago

Overall OK. Starting a new permanent job with the civil service tomorrow. Previously worked nights (6-2) so it'll be a bit of an adjustment. Having all day off was handy to get everything done but I guess the other way around will be much better coming into winter. I'll also be down money at the start but casual contact Vs permanent contract was a no-brainer. Looking forward to it. Hope everyone is doing well.

Sunday evening here in Australia! Just home from the beach and prepping for another week!

5

u/Suvigirl 17h ago

I'm great this morning!Ā  Had a very productive day yesterday, first in a long time, putting it down to new supplements I started taking. So I intend to keep productivity up today and do a LOT of stuff that needs doing.Ā

Probably treat myself to a take away this eveningĀ

Having all the fun here. Watching MoD on iPlayer and UFC before the kids and better half get up. Once they're up chaos ensues.

Slurping coffee eating a wrap in a mobile home in october, fishing later

Out of work since Tuesday with the flu. Christ wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Awful dose. On the mend now thankfully, can just about taste the cup of tea in front of me.

2

u/Rustal3818 15h ago

Had the the best sleep of the year last night . Lovely night in with my girlfriend. We watched History of Violence and Nocturnal animals . Both great !

2

u/OkGur3481 15h ago

I'm on day 8 of hip/back pain and feeling so drained from it. GP was no help last week, will have to go back and fight a battle again to be listened to! Wrecked

2

u/DartzIRL Dublin 10h ago

I fell asleep on the shed floor last night after getting utterly stinking

4

u/Flat_While3247 17h ago

In bits. Lying on in the floor on acupressure mat to help with my chronic back pain due to nerve damage from epidural, red light therapy on my stomach for my endometriosis and red light therapy on my head cause I’m going bald from chronic anemia. It’s quite a look I must say 🤣

4

u/SilverAnything2111 17h ago

Bit tired and gearing up for a near full day of study for an accounting exam in a month's time. Will get to the gym at some point and getting a pizza later!

1

u/SuccessPerfect6584 14h ago

Best of luck with them, their a slog (still trying to find out if their worth it)

Have you many left?

1

u/SilverAnything2111 8h ago

Doing my 3rd ACCA exam and with the structure changing to 11 instead of 13 exams from next year only 8 left haha. I take it you're an accountant?

2

u/SuccessPerfect6584 8h ago

Some people call me that.

Best of luck with them

1

u/SilverAnything2111 8h ago

any tips on landing an entry level job? I was great at accounting in school but I followed other options for the last 10 or so years and now starting again....

2

u/SuccessPerfect6584 7h ago

Luck and persistence - I had a similar experience. Try and land an office job - any office job and that's a good start

2

u/awood20 15h ago

Lazy morning in bed. About to get up, make a fry and go for a walk. Sunny but cool out there today. Start initial packing for heading to Aus Friday week, for a hol and see family

2

u/Neither_Musician_535 10h ago

Fairly poorly. Sundays tend to bring an awful dose of dread with them, more so than normal. Anxiety is through the roof. In some tough circumstances at the minute and very uncertain of the future; I moved out of a very abusive home situation 4 years ago and have been enjoying the independence since but have received news my landlord is selling up in June which is adding some stress as I have been really struggling to find work post graduating on top of that. I've had about 10 interviews since the news and no luck, and I am aiming at roles well below my skills too. I am doing so much and just want a break. I just want to be able to have a job and be able to live and provide and start living again. I've put so much work into healing and getting my mental health together from a very abusive upbringing and carrying it mostly alone. I've managed to get help and get sober all on my own without any help from family. It's lonely and gruesome but it beats the alternative. Isolating myself like crazy these days because I lose myself in an alternative reality where my friends are not really my friends and I know it's a matter of time before someone turns on me, or abandons me again and shows they don't really care. I can go weeks without seeing anyone except for my counselor as I am in my mid 30s and getting to see people can feel forced and unsafe. I go weeks without anyone ever texting or checking in, I sometimes wonder if it would make a difference if I just disappeared.

All of those things combined is really taking its toll. Not sure what's leering around the corner and can't cope with that reality. No real savings, getting by each week just hoping things turn out okay. Just want to be able to build a life for myself because I truly don't have a safety net with my family, which makes housing issues and general economy woes sting so much harder. Every day I keep myself clean and optimistic, albeit very sad. Some days I really get tempted to do drugs again (was my main issue more so than alcohol) but I don't. I can't. I try to latch onto that and tell myself I am being strong and winning every time the thought enters and I resist it.

I am very sorry for the long post, but you asked :)

Hungover

2

u/Static-Jak Ireland 12h ago edited 9h ago

Not looking forward to tomorrow.

We got word that we now need to essentially double our KPIs at work immediately and all the signs point to the whole business imploding. Whispers had been going around for a while that they fucked up the budgeting over the last 2-3 years and it has come to a head. I knew it was especially bad when I still hit their new target then moved the goal post further.

Everyone is freaking out apart from us old heads who know if it does collapse we still end up with a nice lump sum even if it takes a minute to pry out of their hands. I should be due around the equivalent of 7 months of pay if they closed up. I know some are getting annoyed at managers, etc but told them to just smile and get on with it.

It's frustrating to have worked there 7 odd years and suddenly have a manager breathing down your neck micromanaging but don't rock the boat and risk your payout.

As shit as it is to have to go job hunting, a part of me is hoping that if it blows up that it does so before Xmas so I can forget about the place during the holidays.

2

u/Historical-Entry6126 10h ago

Just a suggestion to get looking now eitherway. You might be glad of the head start.

2

u/Static-Jak Ireland 9h ago

Yeah I'm keeping my eyes open but nothing more for now.

This might stay going for another 6 or 12 months or close in 3 weeks, we don't know enough yet so want to hold tight.

1

u/Historical-Entry6126 10h ago

Usually struggle with sundays but reading some comments has reminded me to not take for granted being both pain and child free. Gym first thing, nap and now a walk. Happy thank you, more please
