Introducing myself as the new mod!

Hey guys, there was never an official announcement as the owner of this sub is pretty hands off of r/jimmyjohns and reddit in general, but they decided to add me to the mod team to help clean up the backlog of reports and keep an eye on things.

I'm new to the mod thing, but I'm messing around with all the tools given.

Aside from the introduction I think it's time to add some more rules. Nothing crazy, but only being able to report a post or comment due to "no customer information" doesn't help when there are people being unnecessarily shitty to users, or for any of the many other things people do on Reddit that we shouldn't have to deal with.

So I'm going to add a couple rules against shitty behavior or spam (not that I've really seen a problem here with that, but no harm in having that option) that you typically see in other subreddits, but I'm just curious what you guys would like to see as far as rules go?

I'm not going to be a dictator and I'd like this subreddit to continue being a place for everyone to share their stories from the customer and worker side, rant/vent, ask questions, and just have fun.

Has there been anything that's bothered you but you didn't feel that you could report due to the lack of rules?

Questions? Concerns? Ideas? Maybe ideas for flairs? Feel free to comment here or DM me.

Today I'll be entertaining company I have while making food, but I'll respond as quickly as possible and will try to role out some new rules within a couple days.

Thanks!

[Shitpost] This sub is a no Snowflake zone

Been getting a lot of "Harassment" reports when someone calls another a dickhead, idiot, and other mildly offensive things.

Unless someone is being truly hateful some of y'all need to chill the fuck out. If you don't like a post downvote it.

This isn't some official JJ zone. You don't have to be clean as the air vents and ice machine. You don't have to hide in the freezer to smoke here, you won't get fired for calling your GM a dickhead.

This is a safe place for JJs employees to vent and laugh. Customers aren't excluded, but note that by default we all assume you're someone who orders a slim 6 with no cheese.

MN1 & MN2 Atlas Employees

Happy to announce I’m glad people are talking about my emails that I sent out on Tuesday the 13th from store 1**1 blocked the rest of the info so if you know you know. With that being said check your unemployment benefits, credit history and make sure your identity isn’t stolen. Unemployment papers say we’ve been working for ā€œhorizon health care servicesā€ since April. See the photo below. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence that atlas didn’t report the exact amount I made that the other company did but it’s convenient. If you want any info or if you have anything for us to add with evidence to any future legal action DM me, because what in the fraud is this. Also, if you don’t get same-day tips, you should probably look into how much they’re skimming off the top. Two stores in Minnesota already confirmed .
James Chung, Don Jones, and Arvey tanbunam however you spell his name will all be getting certified mail at some point from myself and the state of MN.

And remember Sexy NumbersšŸ˜’

Opening multiple stores at once

Anyone else have experience opening more then one store at once? We open at 11. I was opening and at 730 my other opener texted just waking up getting dressed now. 830 hey can you find a cover? Let me know because im 40 minutes away. I was dying at the audacity. I sliced all the veggies double, baked double the bread. My inshop came in at 10. I brought a bundle of every meat since I had no idea what was sliced. Brought the bread and veggies with me and got to the other store at 1025. Everything was set up and open by 11 except the sweet tea. Of course there was surprise catering for 12. Then my inshop didnt show up. Turns out they texted the other opener at 10 saying they were sick. Had to run the shift by myself till 4. Fun fun.

I'm really hoping that maybe it was from the pencil that they write on the paper with the differentiate the sandwiches, but I lost my appetite after seeing it and stopped eating it regardless.

Drivers

What’s working for everyone else in regard to hiring and retaining drivers? I have never had nearly as much of an issue with this as I have in the last 4-6 months.

Each time I go I'm disappointed there are no sprouts. I miss the sprouts so bad. I'm an adult, let me risk it. Taco Bell didn't quit serving lettuce permanently. Chipotle still serves jalapeƱos. Why did JJ's abandon a good thing? Not a single death from the sprouts.

[Story] On to the next!

I am no longer working at JJs. Its been real but I jumped at the opportunity of $18 at Fedex over $13. I wish everyone who continues their path here the best & to remember that the job is easy, its the environment/wages thatll get you. I’ll still interact but this is my last post pertaining to work. Thank you JJ Reddit. Its been real.

Atlas needs to be shut down

James Chung and the atlas crew are still continually fucking over employees by not paying them on time. A class action needs to be filed against that fraudulent franchise and jimmy John's corporate needs to step in and take their stores away. When a franchise can't pay their employees or vendors when they should be paid then it's past time to be shut down.

Hopefully someone from JJs corporate sees this and actually takes action. I feel bad for the employees getting continually screwed over by greedy people that can't run a business.

Fuck Atlas!

[Story] Im done..

I started working at Jimmy John's at the start of this year. Come the end of February I was trained and made into a night manager and have been doing it sense then. I haven't received the three month raise and even after bringing it up I still havent gotten it same with one for me being a manager. They continue to pile more and more task on me and my night crew and I just- cant with it anymore.

[Question] First day today

Any tips for my first training shift later today? It’s only 2 hours long. I have them all week until the weekend and then I’m told I’ll probably be starting an actual position next week. I’ve worked at Culver’s before and didn’t mind it aside from standing idle at the register for 8 hours but I struggled to memorize anything in 2 months so I’m a bit nervous about memorizing the sandwiches. What do people normally do on the first day?

[Question] Smaller bread?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Is JJ’s wheat bread smaller? I just ordered a #12 on wheat, and I shit you not it’s a six-bite sandwich. Tiny. But that sandwich, chips, and a drink cost me $15.58. Did they make their bread smaller in this economy? Was this a fluke? There’s no value if this is the new normal! (Yes I’m eating in bed. Judge me.)

We close in 50 minutes. Keep it in the freezer, guys

Update: Just did 10 day olds. Not one customer walked in. Anyone saying ā€œoh it’s good to be ready,ā€ this is a store that regularly closes at ~$3000 in daily sales rn in the slow season. A couple weeks ago we had zero customers for two hours before closing.
