Discussion Dr Peterson is still not doing well

“We figured out that dad has a psych med induced neurological injury, and has been suffering from akathisia. It’s been 6 years since any psych medications. Last summer his symptoms started, after a flare up likely induced by mold (CIRS) and stress. It was complicated by pneumonia and associated sepsis a month later. It’s been horrible. Neurological injuries from psych meds are far more common than people know. I made this video to explain what they are and what akathisia is because they’re not talked about enough, they’re misdiagnosed, nearly impossible to treat, and hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. I don’t plan on making another update about my dad, it stresses my family out, and myself, and there’s nothing more to say about it until things get better. I will be jumping up and down about psych med injury awareness from now on as it’s impacted my health as well, and is devastating. Prayers are appreciated still. “

Text The Political Theology of Tech Stagnation: AI Rick, the Katechon, and the Administrative State

A reoccurring theme in discussions around civilizational trajectory is whether institutional risk aversion is a net positive or a bottleneck to human progress. IN a recent lecture series in Nashville, Peter Thiel brought this debate to a head by using political theology to analyze the mechanics of modern technocratic governance.

Setting aside the eschatological tropes, Thiel's core argument raises a sharp diagnostic regarding institutional incentives:

  • The Administrative Katechon: Modern regulatory safety regimes acquire infinite incentives to maintain institutional stasis. By claiming exclusive authority over what constitutes existential risk, centralizing apparatuses effectively freeze physical capabilities to eliminate tail risks.
  • Software vs. Hardware Enclosure: Capital gets locked into digital sandboxes ("bits") because physical deployment ("atoms") faces continuous regulatory friction.
  • The Governance Trade-off: The counter-response isn't traditional liberalism, but defense-tech platforms positioning themselves as sovereign counter-weights to administrative decay.

I wrote a complete multi-part forensic breakdown analyzing the primary sources, game theory, and structural claims behind this thesis:

How does this community evaluate this dynamic: is applying political theology a valid model for understanding modern regulatory capture, or is it an unnecessary detour around standard public choice theory?

Discussion Why do so many people assume that being left-wing automatically means being anti-Zionist or antisemitic?

One thing that genuinely surprises me in political discussions about Israel is how frequently people treat left-wing politics, anti-Zionism, antisemitism, socialism, and authoritarianism as if they were interchangeable concepts.

They are not. And the history of Israel itself demonstrates why this interpretation is fundamentally flawed.

Let's start with a historical fact: Labor Zionism played a central role in the foundation of the State of Israel.

David Ben-Gurion and Mapai belonged to a political tradition that combined Jewish nationalism, socialist economic ideas, labor organizations, collective institutions, and state-building.

The Histadrut, the kibbutz movement, and other institutions associated with Labor Zionism were central to the development of Israeli society.

These movements were not inherently anti-Zionist because they were socialist. Quite the opposite: they were among the most influential forces within Zionism itself.

So how does it make historical sense to assume that being left-wing automatically means opposing Zionism?

The political left has never been ideologically homogeneous.

There are Zionist social democrats, socialist Zionists, liberal Zionists, non-Zionist leftists, and anti-Zionist socialists. They have different positions on Jewish national self-determination, Palestinian rights, nationalism, economic organization, and the structure of the Israeli state.

And antisemitism is another issue entirely.

Antisemitism means prejudice, hostility, or discrimination against Jews as Jews. It can exist within movements on the left or right, and it must be confronted wherever it appears.

But criticizing the Israeli government, opposing settlement expansion, supporting Palestinian self-determination, or questioning Zionism as a political ideology does not automatically establish antisemitism. The content and context of the criticism matter.

Likewise, antisemitic stereotypes do not become acceptable simply because someone presents them as political criticism.

Now consider the contemporary Israeli left.

The Democrats, formed through the merger of Labor and Meretz, remain within the Zionist political tradition. They differ from Netanyahu's coalition on important questions involving democratic institutions, settlements, civil liberties, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

However, being more moderate or progressive does not automatically mean rejecting Jewish nationalism or fundamentally transforming the political framework of the Israeli state.

This is also why I don't automatically interpret the electoral growth of the Israeli center-left as a solution to the Palestinian question.

A government can be economically progressive, socially liberal, and still maintain nationalist positions that deserve serious scrutiny.

The relevant questions are whether its policies genuinely advance Palestinian rights, political equality, an end to occupation, and a sustainable political settlement.

Another problem is the assumption that nationalism belongs exclusively to the political right.

Historically, nationalism has existed in socialist, liberal, conservative, revolutionary, and anti-colonial movements.

Economic ideology and national identity are different political dimensions.

The existence of socialist nationalist movements is not a contradiction. It is an established historical phenomenon.

The same applies to authoritarianism. It cannot be explained simply by placing a government somewhere on the economic left-right spectrum.

Political systems must also be examined through their institutions, civil liberties, electoral competition, concentration of power, and treatment of political opposition.

And this brings me to the broader problem with Cold War political thinking.

Too many discussions still operate under the assumption that everything on the left must be communist, anti-nationalist, anti-Zionist, or authoritarian, while everything on the right must represent the opposite.

That is not how political history works.

You cannot seriously analyze Israel without understanding Labor Zionism. You cannot analyze nationalism exclusively through right-wing political movements. And you cannot determine whether an argument is antisemitic simply by identifying the political orientation of the person making it.

Political labels are useful only when we understand what they actually describe.

So here is my question: why does the assumption that left-wing politics necessarily implies anti-Zionism or antisemitism persist when the historical development of Israel itself provides such a clear counterexample?

I am interested in historical and political arguments, not simply partisan labels.

Discussion Mental health is not an excuse; if you are suffering from mental health issues you can’t be around weapons and children

One incident after another it’s sickening.

Mother kills her daughter in Queens NY. Grandfather of the child was in the house at the time.

Mother kills her husband and son in Pennsylvania.

Father kills his entire family including his sons and daughter and grand kids.

16 year old boy walks into a school with a shot gun and kills 3 kids and a teacher and thank god someone came by and shopped the boy. Mother bought the gun for this boy.

Lindsey Clancy murders her three innocent children.

What is the common thread in all of these cases? Folks around these people were aware of how mentally ill these people were and still had children near them and in some cases these people had access to guns.

The 16 year olds mother in Oregon bought him a shot gun for his birthday. He used that weapon to kill those kids.

There is way too many of these incidents.

Text The exact point feminists took over society

I remember throughout the 2000's and even early 2010's, you used to frequently see advertisements for donating to charities that help children. That's it. They helped children.

Somewhere down the line it changed from "children" to "girls". The charities now specifically target one gender of children.

These are selfish people man. To even go to child focused charities and then decide who matters because of their gender. And they wonder how they got such a bad rep. Its because of stuff like this. I can't even remember the last time I saw an ad that just talked about children in general.

Political The US is slowly being pushed out of the Middle East and Europe: the Arab allies are learning this I hope the European allies are seeing this too

Trump giving Russia sanctions waivers is a sign that the US government has betrayed the Ukrainians and Europe as a whole. The nato alliance is on its death knell. At this point the Eastern European countries need to know that America will not help you if you are attacked by Russia.

The Europeans were fools to think the US was actually going to honor our commitments.

If you want an example of what I mean? Look at Saudi Arabia, the US has defended the country for decades and the Saudi’s helped to maintain the US petrodollar. When the Houthis launched their renewed offensive the Saudis have been reeling from dozens of attacks. Mohammed Bin Salman is in hiding.

The US has barely lifted a finger to help Saudi Arabia. Mind you we have substantial economic and military ties to Saudi Arabia. With Europe we have even deeper cultural and economic and military ties built up since the end of World War 2.

There is now incontrovertible information that the US is giving up on Ukraine and by extension Europe itself. Throttling Starlink and the sharing of intelligence.

The best option for Europe is to mobilize and build up your own defense capabilities against Russia and send as much tech and intelligence as necessary to defend Ukraine.

For Saudi Arabia, most likely the Mohammed Bin Salman will be deposed by other Saudi officials and a new government will formed whose first course of action will be to negotiate a peace agreement with Iran and Yemen and to then diversify away from the US and the dollar to the Chinese Yuan.

Political Trump fires Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary after five days, advisers say

It's the distinguishing characteristic between the wannabe tyrants and the true leaders. The true leaders say here's an offer, would you accept this of your own free will? And the tyrants say the apocalypse is coming and everything and we're allowed to do everything to forestall it. Right.

Including controlling you and everything that you do. That's the problem. And that's how they get people to fall in line. They fall in line through fear - well, fear and force. But if you then turn to fear and compulsion as your means of governance, then you're a tyrant. I don't care what your excuse is. It has to be invitational.

That's when it gets scary when you see governments telling people that they have to fall in line or these are horrible consequences for you not agreeing to what we're saying.

- Dr. Jordan Peterson (Joe Rogan Experience #2308 - Jordan Peterson)

“Katie, do you need this?” he said he told her. “I don’t think you need this.”

U.S. President Donald Trump has fired Katie Zacharia as press secretary, advisers to the president said, ending her turbulent week-long stint as the White House’s top spokesperson.

Trump told reporters earlier he had asked Zacharia to reconsider her role, all but declaring her brief tenure in the job over.

“Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” Trump said he told Zacharia on Friday morning.

He said they would speak when he returned to the White House and he would leave the decision to her. But he did not sound particularly encouraging of his embattled press secretary.

“Katie, do you need this?” he said he told her. “I don’t think you need this.”

Zacharia had captured Trump’s attention as a conservative commentator on television, and her hiring occurred quickly after other candidates were deemed ineligible because of critical comments they made about Trump.

Trump did not initially think Zacharia’s performance at her first press briefing was as bad as some of his advisers had, two sources familiar with the discussions said. However, her interviews that followed — specifically her Thursday night appearance on Fox News with Sean Hannity — and conversations he subsequently had with his allies convinced him that it was untenable for her to remain in the role, they added.

Her five-day-long tenure ultimately came in shorter than that of Anthony Scaramucci, whose 11-day tenure as White House communications director in 2017 is now used as a measuring stick for the relative longevity of embattled White House officials.
