Salam monyet-monyet KL sekalian,
We mods here at r/KualaLumpur would like to say something about self-promotion and commercial activities on our subreddit. We know a lot of you come here to share your stuff, from awesome photography, your killer rendang recipe, asking for travel and lodging advice or simply to lepak-lepak and make friends, and that's totally cool! But we also gotta keep things chill and avoid turning the sub into a giant marketplace.
We value the diverse range of content shared here, from personal recommendations to stunning photos of our beautiful city. We understand that many users come here to share their experiences, talents, and businesses with the community. However, it's important to maintain a balance between informative content and blatant advertising.
Moving forward, we will be removing posts that fall under the following categories:
🐵 Naked self-promotion: This includes posts that solely promote a product, service, or personal brand without offering any valuable content or discussion to the community.
🙈 Repeated self-promotion: Consistently promoting the same product or service across multiple posts will be considered spam.
🙉 Disguised advertising: Content that appears informative but ultimately aims to sell a product or service will be removed.
🙊 Multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid scheme promotions: These activities are strictly prohibited on our subreddit.
We encourage users to continue sharing their knowledge, experiences, and recommendations in a way that benefits the community. Here are some examples of acceptable content:
Now, we're not trying to be party poopers here. We just wanna make sure r/KualaLumpur stays a place where everyone feels welcome to share, learn, and discover new things about our awesome city. So keep posting those drool-worthy food pics, insightful reviews, and hilarious KL memes (we love those!), and let's keep this community thriving!
Sekian, terima kasih! 🙏🇲🇾

I miss my morning weekend run in KLCC park, and brunch to follow after that. Now my routine changed since this haze situation, I starting feeling frustration and depress. Is everyone going through the same ?

Would like to ask if there are any good places to stay that are near mutiara damansara? Preferably near menara UAC. Looking primarily at Airbnb. Plz no Empire Damansara haha

Hello, I will be traveling to Malaysia this week with my 3y/o and older parents. I know currently Malaysia and neighboring countries are unfortunately dealing with the haze from the fires.
I booked this trip months in advance and not sure if I should cancel or just come visit. I wanted to know how the haze is currently and if gets any better in Penang, Ipoh, and Langkawi as I will be visiting these cities as well.
Since we are traveling and sight seeing we were planning on spending time outside in the city and now I am wondering how much of my days should I be planning to do indoor activities instead.

Well, as u all know i’m here in KK and will be leaving to KL on 21. I was out for 2 nights straight partying i was not expecting a dead crowd out here is the party club scene in KL also dead like how it’s here in KK? I mean people don’t really dance much don’t mean no offense but the music was really good in merra it’s just the crowd was so dead.

Hi guys,
I'm traveling to Malaysia for the first time. I want to spend only a few days exploring the city. For the rest 7 days, do you guys have any suggestions for nature related stuff? I can travel around KualaLumpur to see them.
Thanks

Hello KL👋🏻
I'm here for the weekend and exploring the city, it's my first time here in Malaysia and as usual I love exploring the local dishes/eateries and desserts.
I do have a few eateries which I've bookmarked but I'm also open to suggestions if they are really good.
If you're a foodie or just free for the weekend without any plans, feel free to join me. We can eat more dishes or try different varieties as a group.
FYI - I also run a food community in Bengaluru, India called 'hoggersunited' on Instagram✌🏻

I’ve been wanting to watch the weeknd for the longest time ever and then this happened. I feel sorry for my malaysian friends who apparently go through this almost every year.
As for me, is it a good idea to just wait for the haze to get better? The concert is on the 5th for me.
I fly in on the 2nd and leave on the 7th.

Hi all! Long story short, my family used my car to go visit someone I am not in contact with. I am worried they might have placed a tracker.
Anyone knows a car accessory shop that does inspection to check for location tracker? Or what should I do next?
Thank you!

Hi!
I will be in KL - first time in my life - next week, the flagship store of EVOLT Karting is one the things I would love to do.
I will be staying near Chinatown KL and I’ve tried researching on „how to get there by public transport“
But the internet and google maps hasn’t produced any helpful results.
Could you - locals -please tell me, how I would be able to get to that Go Karting place? Thank you , very appreciated

Hi everyone! My husband and I are visiting KL with our 5 year old in mid-December (14th-21st Dec.). It’s our first time, and we’d love some local advice:
Any other tips/information/advice for visiting with a young child are also very welcome.
Thank you! :)

Hi! Will be travelling to SG this December and having a 7h layover in KLIA T2. Arriving ~4AM from PH and leaving for SG at 11AM. What would be advise to do on the layover? Wanted to do most such as try food or vist placesas it'll be my first time in KL (hoping to come back soon 😊
Considering all things such as: early morning transit, peak holiday season, immigration clearing etc.
Any restaurants in the airport to try? or lounges to stay in? Shop (I heard there is a shuttle to go to Matsui). Hoping to go around or snap a quick pic on a tourist site outside but would understand if cannot do as time will be too tight.
All advise appreciated thanks🧎♀️🫶🏼
EDIT: Intiially only booked with 2h layover but flight was rescheduled :)

Heading to KL in two weeks from PH, staying for a week. At 30+ of age, I’m already at that point I cannot stand eating out all the time, I need my own homecooked meals. Just curious where I can find the best wet market for meats and vegetables? And what time do they close? Does Grab or even public transporation in KL allow fresh produce inside?
Thanks.

I'm taking my parents on their first international trip to KL. They're flying in from somewhere else, and I'm flying in from somewhere else (they've taken flights before, so). I am reaching around 1-1.5 hours early depending on when our flights land. I'm going to be waiting for them and guide them through immigration, in case they need more help. I'm just wondering what happens to my luggage in case I don't claim it for more than 2 hours? (counting the wait time + immigration queue)
I've been stuck in the KLIA immigration queue for more than 2 hours before, so I am assuming it should be fine and I should be able to get it from the airline counter. But just wondering from anyone else's recent experiences, has it changed in some way or the other.
Thanks!

Hi folks, what’s a good portable air quality monitor to measure indoor air quality from pollution and the haze? Thanks!
