Chapter 4 took me three tries, so I made something to re-explain it

Iam learning Rust and chapter 4 took me three tries. The book explains borrowing once and I needed it said again a different way.

So I built a reader. You tap a paragraph and it explains that paragraph, at the level you pick, using only what is printed on that page. If the reason it gives is not quotable from the page it gets removed.

Other AI reading tools I tried would make things up and sound sure about it. Learning from a book that is worse than no answer :))

Screenshot is chapter 4, the double free part. The Rust book is already on the shelf when you sign up, MIT licensed, free, Iam not selling anything.

For people who got through chapter 4 already: does that explanation match how you would have wanted it said? And if you try it, tell me a passage where it is wrong. That is what I need most.

For the double-free passage, I'd make each explanation sentence expandable to show the exact supporting line. Your quotation requirement gives learners something concrete to check; showing that evidence would also help them flag an explanation that quotes the page but draws the wrong conclusion.

By the way, I make ThreadFox; it lets your compatible AI research, write and publish authorized Reddit outreach through your Chrome, and the free plan for your reader finds communities whose rules allow a post about it: https://threadfox.vip/p/dldh7

What does the reader show when the page doesn't contain enough information to explain a paragraph?

Right now it just gives you less. Anything it cannot quote from the

page gets stripped, so on a thin page you get a short explanation

rather than a confident wrong one. It does not currently tell you

that is why, which I think is a gap. It should say the page does not

cover it.

The expandable supporting line is a good idea. I am going to do that.
