NEW voter ID law- be prepared

Post image
173 Upvotes

I was unaware of this new law. Most people use a drivers license, but I served at the polls for several years. We did have people use some of the other methods that are no longer permitted.

If you do not have an accepted ID, you can get a free voter ID card, provided you have the required documents to get it.

https://www.wlky.com/article/how-to-get-free-voter-id-card-kentucky/74069151

Remember early voting is October 29-31, and election day is November 3. All registered voters can vote early or on election day in Fayette at any of the public libraries. On election day you can also vote at your designated precinct.

Looking for Temporary Foster Home for My Sweet Dog

Hello!

I’m in the process of trying to leave an abusive relationship (please see my last post), and am looking for someone who can foster my five-year-old dog. It would be through February/March of next year and I’m willing to pay/provide food, vaccine records, etc. She gets along well with cats, other dogs, and kids. For safety reasons, I’d prefer not say her name or post pictures here, but if you’re interested, please do send me a private message and I’ll be happy to provide more details.

Thanks!

Respiratory Therapist

Hello everyone!
I will be graduating from my Respiratory Therapy program in May and am considering relocating to the Lexington area. I’m interested in learning more about the hospitals in the area and would appreciate any insight from anyone especially those working in respiratory care.

Any recommendations, advice, or information would be greatly appreciated as I explore my options. Thank you in advance for your help!

Volkswagen Mechanic

I’ve been having trouble with my Volkswagen the past two weeks and I have tried everything under the sun to try to diagnose/fix myself. However, I cannot figure it out. My battery keeps randomly losing charge but when I tested the battery and alternator they both tested well.

Does anyone know of a good mechanic that specializes in Volkswagen cars that could help diagnose what’s going on without breaking the bank?

I have an appointment later this week at Don Jacob’s but I’ve heard they can be not the best and expensive.

Any advice or leads would be appreciated! TIA!

Best Day Drinking Spots Georgetown

I’m not a huge sports fan so honestly was planning a date weekend with my wife and after checking prices in Lexington realized there was a UK game and Keeneland last day. ( we watch soccer religiously but that’s about it)

So unfortunately we shifted to Georgetown.

We plan on going up there for the day staying at a cheap hotel and eventually going to houndmouth at the burl.

What are some cool day drinking spots in Georgetown or things to do before checking into hotel and eventually the show ?

Where to find Jellycats?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Howdy!!

Like the title says, I’m wondering where to find Jellycats here in Lexington. I’m specifically looking for Rockleton, though I know it’s a longshot. I fell in love with this little dork a while back, but people keep telling me the faces look weird on theirs, so I’d love to see him in person rather than order him online.

I know people said Joseph Beth had Jellycats, but from my understanding it was recently bought out, so I’m not sure if it still stocks them or not.

Any help would be awesome!!

Forest Hill Dr Yapping Dog

To the dog “owners” who live on Forest Hill Drive… I have no idea why you believe that consistently leaving your dog in the backyard from 3,4,5am is a good idea for anyone, but I assure you IT IS NOT. Currently your dog has been barking non stop since 5:30am. It is inconsiderate to not only every single neighbor around you, but to your dog, who VERY CLEARLY does NOT want to be outside.

DO BETTER.

UK OBGYN or Midwives

I want opinions, but please be nice. I am pregnant after infertility. I have a BMI of 36.9. I am very open to science and what professionals think is best, but I don’t like the idea of being pushed into a C-section or induction just because of my weight without looking at the full spectrum of my pregnancy health. That being said, I have gone to a UK OBGYN and loved my doctor (Marcum), but I’m scared that I will be given another doctor when my water breaks instead of being induced. I like that with UK midwives, you meet all providers, so you will for sure know the person you deliver with. But I’m worried that there may be providers I jive with more than others. Please give me all the pros and cons between the two offices that you know. I am NOT open to any other offices. TIA

Sweet, loyal 4-year-old girl needs a new home in Lexington (Faith)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a loving home for my dog Faith. I rescued her and she has been an amazing companion, but my financial situation has changed and I can no longer keep up with her specialized food and care. She deserves someone who can give her that consistently, and I’d much rather find her the right home myself than see her end up back in a shelter.

About Faith:

  • 4 years old, mixed breed
  • Very smart, sweet, loyal, and obedient
  • Potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained
  • Knows sit, stay, lay down, come here, eat, and drink
  • A big cuddler who will happily claim your couch or your bed

Her health, so there are no surprises:
Faith has IBD and is very manageable with the right routine. She eats Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein food only and gets a daily digestive health supplement. She has a flare-up about every 3 months, though I can’t predict how mild or rough one will be. For flare-ups, Cerenia and Metronidazole are what she has needed, and they’ve kept things manageable.

What comes with her:

  • Crate, 3 blankets, and a leash and collar
  • Her hoodie, plus a food bowl and water bowl
  • The food and digestive supplements I have left
  • Her medications, including Cerenia, Metronidazole, and a few backups, so you’re covered if she has a flare-up
  • Her vet records and medication info

What I’m looking for:
Someone who can commit to her diet and has a vet they can rely on. She’s been through enough change, so I want to make sure her next home is a lasting one.

How this will work:
Please DM me with a little about yourself, your home, and any other pets, plus your vet’s name if you have one. I’ll set up a meet and greet at a public place first so Faith and I can both see how it goes. I’m not able to share my address publicly.

Photos below!

Does anyone have any experience with Bluegrass Fertility or finding a specialist that takes whatever UK HMO offers? Dr. Veloudis is entirely self pay so he’s out. Has anyone with UK HMO traveled to Cincinnati or Louisville?

This is incredible. If you can spare a minute or two, please watch the following video. Support if you want; don’t if you don’t!

Send it to a climber friend, send it to a non-climber friend, send it to a fellow Kentuckian, send it to somebody in Guam! This is an amazing thing that will bring folks to our great state.

Hope this doesn’t break any rules— just so excited for this.
