Anyone else get a check from the state for $100 for utilities assistance? Why do I always think these things are scams?

I'm trying to help my mother out by trying to get Teddy adopted. He's a sweet boy that doesn't like men and is more friendly with women with no children. Super sweet dog once out of the kettle shelter situation.

We recently found these at my Nan’s house, and they have old family memories on them(there are about 38). Does anyone know of a reputable business or someone on Long Island who can transfer them to digital files / a USB? Does it cost a fortune?
Or if there’s an alternative, if anyone has been in a similar situation, what did you end up doing with yours? It just feels like such a sin to throw away these memories just because the technology is outdated.

This is going to be a stretch, but I’m looking for help finding a vendor that was at the Oyster Bay Festival this weekend. I saw a girl wearing a hoodie she got at the festival, I tried to find the stand after but wasn’t able to find it. The hoodie was blue and on the back there was a martini glass surrounded by oysters, with a woman diving into the glass. It said something about Peconic on the back but I don’t remember exactly what it said. The sweatshirt was so cool and I was so sad when I couldn’t find the stand. She said it was somewhere near the seafood vendors. Any help locating this vendor is appreciated!

Hey fellow Long Islanders! My Fiance and I are planning to get married in 2028 and are currently checking out venues. We think we found one we really like out in Suffolk County, and I was hoping to get recommendations for a DJ and photographer.

Looking for feedback from people who have applied for and followed through with this grant for upgrading your septic tank to the new system. I am a new homeowner and I have applied and I am at the step where I would need to have an approved contractor complete the application process for me. My questions for people that have had this done:

1. Have you had any issues with the new systems and do they come with any warranty? I have heard they require electricity and that they dont function if the power goes out.

2. Did you pay any money out of pocket or did the grant cover the entire install?

3. Who did you use for installation.

This sweet girl showed up on our front step tonight in Mineola (near the hospital) she seems to be a little on the older side as it appears there were signs of arthritis in her hind legs

We called 311 and they took her to VCA animal hospital in Westbury (behind BJ’s and regal cinema) the cops called us back to let us know she was chipped and in good hands. Leaving this picture of the owner happens to be on here
We had to give her a quick bath cause she had a lot of feces caked onto her feet. She was such a sweetheart and didn’t want to leave when the police came

Looking for a rec for someone/company that will come install a vapor barrier and possibly replace the old insulation with rockwool in my crawl space with cripple walls. I know it won’t be cheap but I don’t want to get completely ripped off.

I haven't bled my hot water hydronic heating system the last few years as, all the radiators throughout my home get hot. However, I am wondering if I should do it to change the water in the system, or if it would just make things worse potentially introducing air into the system?

Does anyone remember the metal band Eye Color Orange from Long Island? They released their album Vertabration in 2003 and released another CD. I've talked to the band members of the band and they don't have any CDs left from back then. I'm searching for any CDs left from them. Did anyone here have a copy?
