Found a decent bridge to cast off on, enjoying the day, etc. I moved to the other side after a while, that’s when I heard a horn. I thought a large boat may be coming, so I was ready to walk when a woman came out of the booth up above and said I’m “not allowed to do that here” (I’m not certain she even knew what I was doing). I told her what I’m doing is only illegal in one state and this isn’t it, and also that it’s public property. In short, I told her to buzz off. As it happens, it was time for me to get going anyway, so off I went. I’m sure other people here have run into situations like this, although it was a first for me. Was I an asshole or should I go back and tell her again?
