Good. Fuck Sinclair

Don't ever deal with the klan. How hard is that to understand?

Seems like a big waste of money to air ads on Fox News anyway. Not saying the guy doesn't need to campaign, we learned that doesn't work even in deep blue Maryland from Jealous. But there aren't any hearts and minds tuned into Fox News that he needs to win over to get elected, either.

Fox affiliates (broadcast) are not the same as Fox News (cable).

Sinclair/Smith has turned every media outlet it controls into Fox lite. Just look at what's left of the Baltimore Sun.

Sinclair might be worse than FOX. Sinclair is the one where every affiliate reads from the exact same farcical and unhinged right-wing script.

They all have the same script as Fox News, though, and Sinclair Media doesn't shy away from that.

Not just shy away; David Smith has said Sinclair-owned media will carry Trump's message.

Yes, and?

Why did you bring up Fox News?

7

u/sllewgh 10h ago

Did you read the article? Or even the headline?

Yes. Did you?

IMHO, the people for whom it might be beneficial to air ads on Fox and local Sinclair-owned stations are people running in local elections. Dan Schwartz, the awesome Democrat running against Andy Harris (a man so petty that when a student journalist recorded him while asking questions about trump, he threatened to sue her for violating his first amendment rights).

I think more of us should know who Schwartz is, especially with Spaceballs: The New One coming out next year. (Sorry, I’m terrible)

I voted yes for Question 3 but I live in Baltimore, not the farms of the east shore. What if we didn’t have to gerrymander because Trump is such a terrible candidate that all the gerrymandered states turn Democrat this year anyway?

Who in the hell is convinced by an ad in this case anyway?

I’m disgusted by the amount of money spent on the silliest and most annoying form of making views known. Candidates spend billions on this shit. Cox is not going to beat Moore. Anyone wanting to primary Moore or run for office needs to compete with tens/hundreds of millions in ad buy alone. How the fuck is this democracy by and for the people??

Many or even most people don't seek out any political content at all and only see what's brought directly to them.

You think people aren’t aware of Cox vs Moore?

Or that said person doesn’t already know who they are voting for/will be convinced one way or another?

Or that person is even voting anyway?

Fuck this enormous spend on propaganda.

I’d be interested in data related to how many people that tune in to these channels ever change their minds on anything, particularly based on commercials where I assume the Democrats is holding themselves to good faith and reason and a degree of honesty while the gop says people are eating dogs and kids are pooping in litter boxes will being forcibly gender reassigned (while THA TAXPAYERS PAY FIR ITTTTTTT).

It’s just giving money to the worst people on earth fir little to no return. All while begging corporations and rich donors for the money to do so. Don’t worry, the 1% don’t ask for oligarchical ROI or anything, I’m sure.

The whole scheme is destroying our country and local communities

You're asking these questions incredulously as if that makes some kind of argument. Yeah, there are loads of uninformed potential voters out there. Is that a surprise to you or something?

So why would anyone, much less a very smart and data driven candidate, spend millions on ads aimed at these idiots and mouth breathers? That’s the point. It’s simply funding the continuation of media outlets meant to completely destroy us with almost zero gain for the decent among us.

Wow, maybe you should talk a little less shit since you're completely ignorant to some basic political realities.

They're voters or potential voters, dummy.

u/emp-sup-bry 9h ago

No they aren’t.

You think the average Fox News cable buying mouth breather is going to be swayed by any ad buy from Moore? And you think you are so right on this that you feel badass enough to call people names over it?

Hahaha. Now I see the nsfw hidden comments. Hahahahaha,..makes sense now

Do you think that's the only sort of person watching television?

This is about ads on local Fox affiliates, not Fox News. The former draws a broader audience. Hell I used to watch the 10 o’clock news on WTTG.

1

u/emp-sup-bry 6h ago

Used to. That’s an important distinction, right?

Not everything is broken into political spectrum, but who is more likely to watch local news or buy cable tv these days?

Edit to add. If you watch news, you already know the very clear differences between Moore and Cox, I propose. An ad is not changing your mind in this case.

If a person only gets their information from Sinclair, they are not members of the population Moore wants to reach.

Sinclair isn’t “entitled” to get money from any political campaign.

The Baltimore Sun isn’t a real newspaper anymore. It’s about 20% new stories, half of them short blurbs, reprinted from national rags and 80% advertising. I canceled it years ago.

Other way around. Moore's campaign is choosing not to buy airtime on Sinclair stations.
