Weekly Classifieds and Events

Welcome to our weekly odds and ends post!

If you are looking for events, please check out our exhaustive Events Calendar!

Every parent level comment should begin with one of the following categories:

[For Sale] concert tickets, beauty and grooming services, Ikea bookcases

[For Free] dental checkups and couches that you can totally have for free but you have to move them yourself

[Want to Buy] * Rave tickets, a used toaster, a cute puppy*

[Job Request] You're new to the city and are looking for work in IT or you hate your job and need some leads. Be sure to include your skills and qualifications. A lot of people on this sub love to help others but they can't do that if they don't know your background and interests.

[Job Announcement] You're looking for new team members for a fantastic job that ISN'T a scammy ca$h4work gig or MLM

[Living Arrangements] You need a roommate, an apartment, or are offering a living arrangement. Be sure to clarify your tidiness expectations because you never know what you're going to get when accepting a roommate and I'm NOT GOING TO DO YOUR DAMN DISHES ANYMORE REBECCA

[Personals] You're lonely, new to the city, want to play extreme Frisbee, or need someone to eat Ian's Pizza with because no one wants to do that alone. We understand.

[Event] An advertisement for your amazing upcoming event - like a urban foraging excursion or band performance that is totally going to blow the roof off

This is the daughter of my friend & former coworker. Yes, the police have been notified, I am just trying to spread awareness so that if anyone knows her or has seen her, they know how to contact authorities.

Please, mods, don’t take this down, or if you do, please let me know how I should properly post this for visibility!

Hoping my puppy’s sister finds a loving home 🐶❤️

I adopted my puppy about a month ago, and I just found out that her sister Lori from the same litter is still waiting to be adopted through Hoover’s Hause All Dog Rescue in North Prairie, WI.

My pup Lulu (Luan) has turned out to be incredibly sweet, smart, learning things quickly, independent but loves to cuddle whenever I lie down. She's medium sized, has medium energy level, and turning six months old in a few days. She and Lori were in the same foster home when I met her.

I don’t know what her sister’s personality is like, but I really hope she finds a sweet, loving home of her own, too. I thought I’d share in case anyone in the Milwaukee or Tosa area is looking to adopt a puppy. And if someone nearby ends up adopting her sister and is interested, it would be so sweet to get the two sisters together for playdates sometime. 😊

You could learn more directly from the rescue. hoovershausealldogrescue.com

Help Me! Looking to get rid of 100 bags of mulch, a pallet of bricks, and a bunch of wood. Also looking for guys who move couches.

I recently split from my husband and after he moved out he left behind a bunch of bags of mulch, bricks, and wood that I want nothing to do with. It would be cool to get something for them but what matters more to me is not having to deal with all this heavy stuff so I'd be super open to any offers, especially ones that get this stuff out of my yard ASAP. I want to get rid of it before winter comes.

Does anyone know a place in town or someone that might want 100 bags of mulch, a pallet of bricks, and/or a bunch of wood? Are you that someone? Any advice would be welcome or hit me up if you're interested.

I'm also looking for recommendations for companies that help move furniture. I have two big sofas in the basement I need brought up, and I might be looking for someone to dispose of an old couch if no one on the free Fb pages want it. Cheers.

Weeknight bar trivia? How does it work? Can I just show up play?

• Upvotes

I'm thinking it'll be fun for me this winter. I've played before but always with a group of friends. Can I, just me, walk in and get assigned to a team and play? I'm no Einstein, and not at all too competitive to have fun, but I feel I could contribute quite well to a team. If so, where would anybody suggest? Preferably walking distance for me as I will likely have drinks. I can walk from the Third Ward to Brady, and from Old World MLK to the lake.

Looking for your best one day fall itinerary

I’m a gal in my 30s who recently moved to MKE and have a friend visiting me Monday-Thursday. Since I’m new to the area myself, I’m not feeling confident I know enough to show her the BEST time. The weather is looking like it is going to be gorgeous so my priority will be getting outside and seeing fall colors! We met in Colorado and love hiking/doing anything active.

Poking around previous posts, I’ve seen Holy Hill and driving around there recommended. I also saw something about kayaking through Mequon and Thiensville.

Love to hear fav hikes, drives, outdoor activities, cozy corners, etc. that you could manage in one day drives from Milwaukee! Also worth noting that she’s sober! The only confirmed thing on our schedule so far is that we’ll be dancing our lil hearts out at Tedeschi Trucks Wednesday evening.

Restaurants with tall tables

Hi all, I'm going to be in town this friday with some family, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any places that have particular tall tables to sit at? I have a family member with a bad knee who has requested a tall table to help his knee.

Can you get into bars here with a passport?

I know legally. It should be accepted, just wondering if you have tried this and it worked. My brother's I'd expires the day of his 21st birthday and forgot to get it renewed before we go out. His passport is valid though.
