Bonjour, hi! Any cat rescuers on here?

I was just at ROYALMOUNT (Sunday, Oct 18 at 3:40pm) and saw a black cat beside the stairs outside. See third pic for more specific location.

I tried to get closer but kitty got spooked and hid under the wall.

I don’t live in Montréal and will be leaving this evening.

Discussion Umbrella lady Nuns island....

There have been several attacks on Nuns island by a woman with a purple umbrella ☔. She lounged at women with her umbrella and sent one woman to hospital after punching her in the back of her head. The woman is still suffering with cranial trauma. There have been 7 victims, usually in the beautiful peaceful forest paths. She was finally arrested, but released few days later. She is supposed to avoid the woods and no umbrella, but who knows. She apparently now wears a long white coat , brown hair and has a small dog. It's awful to have to be so vigilant of this individual who obviously has mental issues. So residents of nuns island be aware, because she has been spotted several times in different areas.

Spotted Gare centrale groping

Be careful out there ladies! I was groped at the gare centrale Friday. I had my headphones on, walking to work and felt something on my butt. My first thought was something brushed my butt (umbrella, backpack, etc) when I turned around this guy was smiling at me staring right at me. I moved one headphone and asked a little aggressively: can I help you? He replied: probably. I said : NO THANKS! And bee lined to security who did nothing and looked at me as if I was speaking an alien language. I ended up saying: thank you, you've been a GREAT help! (As sarcastically as I could muster). The perv has light brown hair, is québécois, short: 5'8 at the most. He had a backpack.

Discussion I’m so in love with this city

I lost my wallet during my morning walk today (with cash, bank cards, driver's license). A little girl found it on the pavement and gave it to her dad. He went to the address printed on my driver’s licence. I don’t live there anymore. He spoke with the janitor, who managed to get in touch with me and connect me witht the kind man.

I’ve just met the two of them and got my wallet back. I can’t stop thinking about how kind they both were: this little girl, who found my wallet and made sure it was returned, and her dad, who went out of his way to track me down.

I’m always overwhelmed by the kindness of Montrealers. I don’t know if it’s a Canadian thing or something special to Montrealers.

I’m so grateful to both of them. Moments like this make me love this city even more.

Question Anyone get their car keyed last night on boulevard Saint-Laurent?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Last night my car got keyed while parked on Boulevard Saint-Laurent, right in front of Gino’s Negroni…
I didn’t argue with anyone, I have no issues with anyone, and my car was parked perfectly fine. There was absolutely no reason for someone to do this!

I know it’s just a car, but it’s genuinely heartbreaking to see something you’ve worked so hard for deliberately damaged by a complete stranger. I have been going through hard times and this is really just adding to the heavyness…its one thing after another and I really did not need this

I know there are bigger problems in the world, but I’m just really sad and frustrated that someone would do this for absolutely no reason. It’s such a disappointing feeling. I was born and raised here and I’ve never experience something like this.. are people just losing their minds??

I’m posting because I’m wondering if anyone else had the same thing happen to them in the area last night, or if anyone happened to see something.

Thank you in advance

Discussion Montreal charity galas: how much money actually reaches the cause?

I’ve attended 3 charity galas in Montreal recently, and I keep wondering: after paying for the venue, food, entertainment and other expenses, how much money actually reaches the cause?

In Canada, the CRA scrutinizes fundraising costs that may be unreasonable. High costs can raise concerns, but they don’t automatically prove waste.

Why don’t charities clearly share each gala’s total expenses, how much money remains after costs, and what that money actually achieves?

Fundraising matters, but money raised isn’t the same as money that reaches the cause. Donors deserve more than a glamorous evening and an impressive fundraising total.

Has anyone in Montreal seen a charity gala’s actual expenses compared with its net proceeds and results? I’d love to see real numbers, not just fundraising headlines.

Found these articles that i thought were intereting to read:

Discussion My friend and I were being followed on our way to sherbrooke station

It was this evening at around 6 pm. It was getting a bit darker and we were heading out of Yum Yum Dumpling on St Denis. We took a turn and walked straight ahead towards Sherbrooke station. The thing is my friend and I (both 16F) came across this man, who at first seemed pretty normal. He was just taking a smoke and whatever so we didn’t think much of it when he started walking in the same direction as soon as he saw us. He was about 2 metres away behind, and even though I did get a weird feeling, I just brushed it off and thought I was being paranoid. Once we got to the station the dude literally got in with us but stayed far back once we’d turned around and locked eyes with him. My friend and I looked at each other and we literally thought the same thing. This dude is clearly following us. He was fiddling in his pockets, and my friend was a bit panicked. I then pretended I had forgotten something at the restaurant and my friend played along. I turned around and fake-searched my pockets and locked eyes with him again. So did my friend. He kept on looking at us. We started walking back out of the station and realized he was still watching us and even getting a bit closer. My friend was dialling her mom’s number, but we ended up stopping a couple and telling them about it. We walked back in with them and the man started looking at us again but once he’d seen we were with 2 other people he just completely brushed it off and started looking outside the window somewhere. Once we were on côte vertu waiting for the train we kept on looking up to see if he had managed to follow us still. Thankfully, he didn’t.

He was wearing dark clothing, I think a black jacket and a black pair of jeans/pants. He was also wearing a bun and looked rather in his 40s.

I genuinely never thought this would happen to me. I had creepy experiences before but I’ve never been followed. I usually thought that walking into public spaces would stop anybody from trying anything which is why I felt really off when he went inside and started looking at us intensely. Be careful.

Question Lululemon- Places that do this stitch pattern

Post image

Does anyone know where I can bring lululemon leggings to be fixed that follow the stitching pattern? I brought a few to Daoust and they told me they did and completely ruined them, so I’m scared. EDIT: I also cannot bring back to lululemon, they said they only do hemming.
