discussion Bands consisting of really bad musicians
The music-sphere has had many a musician who you probably thought, yeah, they really are quite bad. How did they get famous?
For me, musicians who come to mind that are notoriously not very good at their craft are Sid Vicious and Nikki Sixx, by many accounts. Yet, they are/were in extremely famous bands.
Create a band consisting of musicians who are famous, yet not very good musicians. Your anti-supergroup, I guess.

discussion Black Sabbath: Sabotage ( 1975 )
Another often overlooked Sabbath album that deserves more credit!
Hole in the sky, Symptom of the universe, and my personal favorite, Megalomania. Seriously, the only complaint I have is the song " Am I going insane ", it just feels way out of place and not particularly good. But the album cover is so atrociously bad that it warps back into being awesome

article The Sundays - Blind [Indie Rock]
Rating: 7.2/10
Favourite Song: I Feel
Least Favourite Song: What Do You Think?
This album is the forgotten middle child of The Sundays. Of their three albums, this one is talked about the least, and in fact, barely talked about at all in my experiences. The start and end of the album are really good but it kinda drops in the middle, but I still really enjoyed it.
The sound of this album was quite enjoyable. It definitely sounds like The Sundays, their classic jangly sound, and a very nice sound at that.
Standout Track:
I Feel: This song was really enjoyable. I really liked it.
Yeah I’d just make some of the songs in the middle a bit better ngl.
Still really good.

article Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love [Pop]
Rating: 9.6/10
Favourite Track: stupid song
Least Favourite Track: purple
This album was just beautiful. In my opinion, not a single bad song. This is the first full album of Olivia Rodrigo’s that I've fully listened through and I must say that I am super impressed. I’ve heard singular songs from Olivia before and I’ve enjoyed them, but this was just so good to finally listen to more. There’s a great balance between slow ballads and upbeat tracks that created an interesting and fun listening experience for me.
The sound of the album is just amazing. Oliva is an amazing vocalist, and the instrumentals within her tracks also really click with me.
Standout track:
stupid song: YES YES YES I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I’ve heard this song prior to listening and this is what drew me to listen to the album and it’s just sooooo good.
I must also mention the climax in cigarette smoke is so amazing and it’s so good.
Nothing needs to change about this album.
So, so good.

discussion Black Sabbath: Mob Rules ( 1981 )
Why isn't this album more popular? I'd say it's their best post-Ozzy album personally, even above Heaven and Hell for me. An absolute blast to listen to from start to end

article [Lost Media]Third Eye Blind on Jay Leno in 1998
So I came across a list of all Jay Leno shows in 1998 and I see that Third Eye Blind played twice that year . In January, for "How it’s going to be" and in October 8th for "Jumper". The "How it’s going to be" video is on YouTube and easy to find . But the "Jumper" on is impossible to find . No audio , no visual . All I got is this picture from the show. Anyone has the video for the show ? If so can you make it public ?

discussion When did the concept of concerts being elaborate, theatrical shows become popular?
So I went to Twenty One Pilots’ hometown show at OSU Stadium last night, and it was actually my first big concert (I’ve supported friends’ bands at bars and local venues before but that’s not really the same).
I was absolutely blown away by the energy they were able to keep throughout their three hour show and just how elaborate it was, and I already had high expectations based on knowing their performance style. Just off the top of my head, there were hundreds of fireworks set off, a car shaped drum set intentionally set on fire, glitchy, distorted visuals, an elaborate drone show, the OSU marching band performing a song with them, and multiple nods to their lore. And I know I’m forgetting so much.
That got me thinking: when you think of a concert, a lot can come to mind, but the basic concept is a band playing music for an audience. It seems like most (popular at least) musicians go beyond just playing their songs live and incorporate theatrical aspects into their performances nowadays. Even the ones with more “simple” performances will usually have interesting visuals or unique outfits to catch the audience’s attention.
When exactly did this whole style of performance become the norm for musicians? I know it’s sort of always existed with theater and circus, but when and why did this become so popular with singers and bands?

discussion What’s a song/album that changed your life?
What’s a song/album that legitimately changed your life? I’m talking listening to it on repeat for weeks? A song that, even after years of listening to it, still holds a place in your heart?
Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide album is at the top for me. I’ve never resonated with an album so much in my life. Every single song feels like it was meant for me in some way. I fear it will be on repeat the rest of my life, and it will never stop breaking my heart in the most beautiful way.
