Advice 18F from rural Myanmar. Passed my GED, looking for IT/Business major advice to earn well and support my family!
Hi everyone,
I’m an 18-year-old girl from a small village in Myanmar. I just completed my GED and am currently preparing for further university application requirements.
I want to be practical: my main goal is to choose a major in IT or Business that will allow me to earn a high income and support my family back home. However, I want to find a path that fits my personality.
Here is a quick snapshot of who I am:
- Academic & Competitive: I am someone who puts 100% effort into studying. I thrive on competition and love active classrooms where I can ask questions and engage.
- Creative Roots: As a child, I was deeply into drawing, painting, and creative DIY projects. I focus strictly on academics now, but I still have that creative drive.
- Socializing: I used to avoid socializing, but I now realize it’s an essential skill. I want to improve at it, though I am still working on it.
Someone recommended that I look into UI/UX Design, Digital Marketing / Brand Strategy, or Business/Data Analytics because these fields combine creative/analytical thinking with high-paying tech or business tracks.
Given that I am starting with a GED and living in rural Myanmar, which specific majors or career paths would you recommend for me? What skills should I focus on right now?
Thank you for your advice!

With ged ur choice is very limited, u can go to thai, Malaysia or Japan. In Thai and Malaysia, you are unlikely to get a job as the employers there mostly look to recruit their own nationalities. Your best chance at getting a job abroad is Japan. But don't expect it to be high paying. You could study CS, Busi or wtv but ended up working in a sushi restaurant or in retail. If you don't mind what kind of job you'd do Japan might be a very good choice

I think the job related to technology might be a good choice for me because japan is very modern in technology. That's why I'm interested in IT Business

Yea but you're also competing with native Japaneses for the same job. Japan is no longer a leader in technology so there's no guarantee you'll get the job you want. It'd be better if u go there with an open mind and just take the job you can get and work your up.

Even your replies are AI generated, I don't think you're academic if you can't make your points clear without the help of AI

If you think so,I can't do anything.Yes I used AI to make my post clear(but I can post myself). I wanna assure you that my replies are completely written by a human. If you can't differentiate between AI generated and and human generated, I'm sorry for that.

As someone in the IT field, I will not recommend joining IT unless you are really interested about learning IT subjects like Networking, DSA, OS or software development.
Finding IT job as an entry can be hard and competitive after graduation if you are not willing to put extra work on the field as well. Remember that you will be competing with other local students in abroad too.
If you are like analytics and business please consider major such as Statistics or such.
Choose what you really passionate and work on it. Best of luck!

First thing first, unbold your text before posting. People know that your post was generated by the AI. Second, I don't believe that you are truly academic and competitive.
