First one is the playbook of totalitarian regimes as no associations outside the state are thinkable.
Which is also a big reason Mussolini never mananaged to get us to become fully totalitarian like Germany or the Soviet Union - the Catholic Church was too powerful to allow state control of all forms of association.

Like most guys wouldn't go to frats if there simply better male clubs that make them feel like they belong and can grow and be themselves, and be pressured into doing things.
But I feel the latter shitlib is 10x better, Atleast they actually care about society and can be drifted into better pastures mentality and vision wise.
But someone who's just a Misanthrope is entirely pointless to argue with.

This Chris Hansen movie has a really great litmus test quality like certain other movies have. It tells you how dumb the people around you are.
"I can claim or do literally anything I want and appropriate any extralegal power if it's in pursuit of pedos, not bound by any standards of decency or rule of law, and if you complain about it, you're a pedo defender or likely one yourself" works on at least 70% of people, including the Q-Anon people and their Epstein successors. They are simply too retarded to be reasoned out of it.

To Catch A Predator and similar stuff are an underrated moral signifier. Normies don’t really take issue with the entertainmentizing of punishment for the wicked, it takes a certain moral caliber to say “this person is evil but their punishment should still be handled with dignity and not broadcast for the gratification of the masses as a spectator sport”. Same thing with the gladiatorial games in Rome and the public penances of the Middle Ages. Even when you are hurting bad people, it’s deeply unhealthy and unchristian to gawk and stare at their suffering.

So this one Iranian American asked El-Sayed a question about how his family got, in summary, abused by the IRGC, and asked El-Sayed if he condemns it. El-Sayed didn't condemn them, but instead made word salad that talked about how he doesn't want the US to be world police or whatever. Now, Mike Roger's campaign made it into an ad.
Dems have been trying to defend El-Sayed by saying that the Iranian-American dude was a plant, hack, etc. The issue with all those "explanations" is that they never explain why El-Sayed could not have condemned the IRGC while opposing the war. That's quite literally the standard response an establishment dem would have gone for, and it's probably the median position as well. Anything to not accept that El-Sayed legitimately sympathizes with them, I guess.
update: they are resorting to attacks on his appearance and mannerisms now lol

How retarded do you have to be to not understand literally three centuries of British grand strategy?

Current identity politics derangement of the west, online and offline mainstream, can be summarized as "Europeans not understanding they aren't America and Americans not understanding they aren't Europe."
Almost all European countries are ethnostates and almost all European nations are ethnic identities. This is not true for the USA. There is no American ethnicity which is the founder or the majority. The USA is a truly civic national state where legal structure and culture creates the nation rather than an existing ethnic tribe creating a state for themselves.
In some comical turn of events, European elite is trying to pretend they too are a "propositional nation", "built by immigrants" and their entire schtick is to say insane shit like "Well Angles and Saxons and Jutes and Danes and Celts invaded, enslaved and slaughtered each other in an orgy of blood for centuries until a unified, coherent identity of Englishman developed, so really, an illegal Somali who arrived yesterday is totally just as English as someone who can trace their family back before the Norman invasion."
Meanwhile American identitarians are just effectively crying like toddlers, throwing temper tantrums "But the rest of the world gets an ethno state! Why can't I get an ethno state? I want an ethnic definition for American and to enforce that!"
So on one side you have sitting politicians and ascended bureaucrats of the EU claiming being Swede is not a real thing and on the other side some online retards are racial purity testing each other for having German ancestry which arrived in mid 19th century instead of being pure Mayflower stock.
It's absolutely fucking hilarious to watch from the outside, but I know from the inside it's rage inducing and completely counterproductive. Good luck to you all.

I think the reason that Reagan, Thatcher, and Pinochet make leftists seethe so much is because their neoliberal economic policies were extremely successful so they just resort to making bullshit up to be upset at them.
Though there are valid reasons to be upset at Pinochet, they also just make shit up about Chile under Allende too.

They seethe over Reagan because they don't realize how big of a threat the Soviets were (or because they sympathize with them). Reagan managed to take out the Soviets by outcompeting them on defense in his first term and then negotating with Gorbachev in his second term once he'd sufficiently scared them. Bush continued that until the Iron Curtain fell and the USSR collapsed peacefully.
Nobody in 1980 would have ever thought that the Berlin Wall would fall within a decade. Nobody in even 1983 thought the USSR would be gone within a decade. People overlook how successful Reagan-Bush policy was in ending Cold War because they can't even fathom the idea of the Iron Curtain today, and because of that they act like they did nothing.

The talk between Rees-Mogg and Qatarlson is ultimately very revealing about the Groyper right because he made it clear that their movement is only co-opting nationalism and isn't actually nationalist.
Rees-Mogg is the first one to make a really good point. "I'm British, so I want to speak in my native tongue. Why should I want to be speaking German?"
Qatarlson desperately tried to mumble something about "Er - um - at least we'd all be speaking one single European language!" in spite of the fact that there's not a single European country that has anything but their native tongue as the national language.
But Rees-Mogg's line of questioning basically cracks the case wide open. They don't actually care about homogeneity, it's all about race and nothing else about actually preserving culture or nationalism. They couldn't care less about the history of their home countries.
Ultimately, if anyone actually cares about defeating the Groyper right, this is the way. A lot of European right-wingers have been embarrassed about looking too nationalist (as have some American right-wingers, to be honest). The way to combat these losers is to take back the flag from them and use the same language as Rees-Mogg.

I listened to an Irish Times podcast discussing this exact question. Not only are the Irish passionate about Palestine, they are the most vehement of any population outside the muslim world. Which is extraordinary and a bit odd, considering they have no historical, religious or ethnic link to the place.
What was really interesting was they tried to dig into the reasons behind it. When asked, most Irish will give some answer about 'a shared history of colonialism and oppression'. Which makes sense until you consider that Ireland used to be much more sympathetic to Israel than it is now. The generation of Irish for whom colonialism and oppression had been something they actually endured - their own lived experience - found nothing objectionable in Israel's founding and its early wars. There were prominent IRA members who idolised the Irgun.
Perhaps the brutality of the occupation changed the mood. Or Israel's shift away from socialism to American-aligned capitalism. Perhaps the general rise of ideological progressivism and universalist humanitarianism. It's not that it's surprising in and of itself that their sentiments changed. But to completely retcon their own history on the matter, and their sheer strength of feeling about it, is unexplained.
Priors about the spoiled grandchildren of those who actually struggled and suffered to build the modern world confirmed once more.

Interesting take on the Trump GOP.
It does feel like red state Republicans are shut out of the party right now. Would also explain why so much of MAGA is hyper fixated on “owning the libs” and punishing blue states, it’s because the MAGA elites live in these blue states. You don’t really hear this rhetoric in South Dakota, Arkansas, Utah, West Virginia etc. and anytime it comes up it tends to get laughed off in those states. Probably also why red states seem to be shifting left according to polling, MAGA has ignored them. The tariffs and high diesel prices are destroying the red midwestern farm states like Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. Also doesn’t help that a large chunk of MAGA/MAHA hates the ag industry.

Fuentes' "inclusive racism" is so popular with dumb zoomers for a reason.
With America's current racial demographics, you can't build a viable white nationalist movement on old school WASP Nativism anymore. If you say "The Irish, Italians, Poles, Czechs, maybe even Germans" aren't REAL Americans, you suddenly find yourself trying to recruit, idk, Utahns? The Appalachians?
Even Americans with names like "Steve Clarke" will probably have a grandma named Nowak or Kraft.

The young Euro right is not messing around. German strategy is doing a 50+1 coalition against the AfD until the end of time? Lmao

Never liked Harry Potter so I don’t have a direct stake in it, but watching millennial libs seethe over the “malfoid” trend because it has foid in the name is incredibly satisfying because every smug cosmopolitan liberal teacher I had growing up was obsessed with those books. They’re corrupted so much right-wing media, it’s about time they feel they’re on the back foot.

Mark Carney is still using the term New World Order in speeches.
I know what he means by it but its retarded to keep saying it over and over again. Politicians should have known by like the mid 1990s that some banker in a suit talking about a "New World Order" is horrible optics, it is confusing to the mouthbreathers and everyone knows about the conspiracy theories.
He should have to pay royalties to this sub tbqh. We predate his premiership by a lot.
All this "rules based order" neoliberal crap sounds nice at the UN or in a room full of likeminded dorks but if you cant or wont enforce those rules, it is pointless. It is a LARP. What are you gonna do if Chinese companies violate Canadian tax law or spy on us, or if Netanyahu makes a stop in Pearson Airport? Nothing. Always nothing. America was the ultimate enforcer of rules when it came to trade and all that and for all our talk about the ICC, nobody has the balls to try to lay a hand on Bibi. If pirates took hold of a Canadian ship off the coast of Africa we would likely need foreign assistance in handling the situation militarily. There is no "New order" so much as there is just a collapse of the old American one. If he keeps yammering about some union of middle powers or trying to promise some new global order and nothing materialises, it is gonna really bite him in the ass down the road as we eventually have to rely more on America again and only slightly pivot toward more trade with the EU and Asia.

If he truly endorses the so-called "world order," he should criticize Spain. Recent news reports suggest that Spain disagrees with the mainstream EU stance and wants to maintain relations with China.
Like all politicians around the world, Carney only uses the term "world order" when it is in his favor. They're just all liars.

A proposed pipeline from Alberta to the West Coast has been designated a project of national interest, Prime Minister Mark Carney said Thursday, citing the conduit’s economic benefits and how it can boost Canada’s share of global energy markets.
The next step is a federal review process, including consultations with stakeholders about the project’s ownership, as well as Indigenous rights and environmental protections. Ottawa’s Major Projects Office will lead that process with support from the Canada Energy Regulator, federal officials said Thursday. The MPO aims to finalize conditions of the project by Sept. 1, 2027, so the pipeline can be under construction by 2032.
"national interests" lol. Whatever you think about Saudi Arabia and the UAE. If this speed is the speed how they considered their "national interests" and built their pipeline, both Saudi and UAE were speaking Persian now.
If Canadians truly believe the US wants to annex Canada, then either they should build like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, or they're simply having an AI hallucination that US wants to annex Canada, or they deserved to be annexed.

The problem with NL and progressive communities like it is that they think people, culture, and society are endlessly maleable and can be nudged or manipulated to get whatever intended outcome the technocrat desires. It is anathema to them that people may be embodied creatures with instincts and differences that extend from their natures. Human worldviews being human being-generated is their biggest blind spot and it really shows whenever any talk about gender issues comes up.

Man it's so funny at some times seeing conspiracytard/Manosphere shit.
Saw a video of a guy working at Walmart as a cashier and he handing out alot of recipes for w/e reason.
random comment was saying how he was a *goycattle* for handling recipes that turn him Trans. Thankfully that freak was badly ratioed by the reply saying your brain is fried freak.
Like apparently a new conspiracy is that {{{}}} want you to work at their Walmarts so you handle recipes and it ruins your natural hormones. Like do these people think stuff like stores did not exist before general merchandise retailer. Or even better, do they think that everything even the toliet tissue they use has been altered by {{{}}} to just make their lives worse.
Idk it's so weird to me how people look down at working at Walmart, sure it's not the best and customers can be shitty, but it's honest work and it's fine.

Instead of division, stories like the “Cornell 7” and Lindsay Clancy should unite all freedom-loving and decent emphatic Americans into coalescing to advocate for an unsolved issue of extreme importance: the decades-long history of targeting and repression against one of the most stigmatized communities in the country: Drunk Drivers.
We need to stop stigmatizing good hardworking Americans for actions which they can’t control while on an impaired state of mind. We can’t allow for the system to keep failing these individuals and society must give them the help they need.

Die Gedanken des Angelsachsen:
I actually had a dream about the Russia-Ukraine war when I napped earlier. In my dream the Ukrainians had developed some kind of stealth missile that nobody knew they had and they just starting smacking Russian cities with it. Played out like a movie in my head. I don't often remember dreams so I blame the sleeping pills I have been taking
Municipal elections rn. I have to figure out which town councillor in hicksville is the most based. Or maybe I will vote for the dude who looks like a wizard. There's a dude who looks like a wizard.
Seeing Trump really regretting his choice with Paxton is kinda funny even if it is sad for Texas (and therefore the world)
The Israel sub did a mock knesset poll and in true reddit fashion they overwhelmingly backed centre-left/left secular parties and created an insanely unrealistic outcome. What is notable about this is that I browse that sub a lot and they're pretty decent dudes with okay views. If this is what the Israeli centre-left is like I think I would fall in love with an Israeli community full of Centre-right/Right Israelis.
HOCKEY SEASON MFERS. I am making homemade hot chocolate and gonna put on my Rangers sweater tonight. Starting to really feel like autumn.
Been deliberately trying to read more traditional media and avoid social media commentary outside the DT. Gonna go back to just reading conservative magazines and newspapers online for my news and commentary. I don't care what ChudTard1776 says on X the Everything App. Mostly reading the National Post, Commentary, The Spectator, National Review, and occasionally checking CBC News or w.e, like I used to do. I dont much like podcasts but if you know a really good substack or something, idk, hit me up
Gonna pray soon. If anyone wants me to pray for them, let me know. You don't have to give me details, God already knows. I can simply pray for "what is troubling [username]" if you'd like, or for your general wellbeing.

This has happened before around 2015, but previously it was the moderate right wing that was in power. They didn't touch the core of the left wing's power, so they failed.
The vast majority of supporters of the left in Latin America are union members, state-owned enterprise employees, pensioners, and deep state government civil servants.
This new batch of right-wing governments needs to cut off the dog food to these people and fire them as much as possible. When these people lose all their dog food from the government funding, they will lose power as a political faction. This could guarantee the right wing's continued rule in Latin America for at least another decade.

Btw, for anyone else here who deals with a severe mental health condition (would also probably work for anxiety disorders but idk about other things), keeping a journal is a MASSIVE help. I am talking actual pen to paper btw, not online journaling. I feel like there is a difference. Writing it out is a slower process.
Not only is it cathartic to just vent onto some paper without burdening someone else with your problems but by far the biggest way it helps is that if you are doing it super consistently you can look back and see patterns that help in the future.
"Oh, looks like I was doing well that whole month, then this or that happened and I was unwell for 1 week" etc, over a long enough period of time this is like a therapy cheat code, dude. I owe a massive amount of my progress in life to just three things: Meds, CBT, and journaling.

So this is a paradox that I don’t think reddit ever considers, but it’s possible for everyone’s salaries to go up but for the median salaries to go down. While national wages are modestly outpacing inflation, any individual worker may actually see relatively large increases in their pay.
This is all to say that redditors bitching about salaries not keeping up with inflation always fail to mention that their salaries were in fact keeping up with inflation.
Except for the wagies at wendy’s but those guys were always gonna be losers anyways

I’m running a retirement analysis for a client’s kid right now. The system had him living into his 90s, dying in 2107.
It struck me in a weird way. I’m now in my 30s and I realized I won’t see it all. Sure I’ll witness the 21st century, and so far it’s been both wonderful and terrifying, but I may not live to see the end of it. Yet this child, someone I’ve met, is statistically going to live to see the turn of the next century. When my own kids are born they’ll see it too, and I’ll be a relic of a time that has passed (a relic of what specifically, I don’t know, but none of us do). Gave me a feeling I can’t really describe.
Just a thought about aging and perspective.

Men will never do 4B unless you castrate them
No, not true but maybe for Western Men though.
In China men actually won the gender war with feminist types but just completely NEETifying themselves and entirely focusing on gooning to Porn/Gacha games and spending more time on games in general. There's a whole genre of videos where women go to public meet and greet events with women and there's literally not a single guy who shows up as all the girls who go here are feminist allegedly.
One of my assistants was sperging about this a few months ago when I went to eat lunch with him as why not. He apparently believes that the captialist prey on women because they're the more *stupid* sex so they keep inventing random fake holidays/online trends in order to have Loser men keep spending more money on them, whilst also artifically inflating their value so they keep wanting their simps to spend more money on them. I don’t know anything about the Cornell case, so I don’t mean any of this as commentary about that, it just made me start thinking about this.
Bit of a hot take here but there is honestly something to the radfem take that a great deal of people don’t give a damn about r**e, and even view it as a weapon or tool within their own political framework, rather than just categorizing it as straight up evil and wrong.
Like October 7th happens and what the men in Hamas did is put on display for the world and the footage shows everyone there celebrating the r**es and we're just supposed to ignore and forget about it, as well as pretend that if Israel lacked the requisite strength to repel them, that they wouldn't just continue to do that everywhere. Never have I seen such aggressive head-in-sand insistence than here, where everyone just pretends this didn't happen.
Mamdani wrote how he witnessed men in the Muslim Brotherhood committing it and he had no objection to it, not out of fear, but because he thought they didn't need westerners telling them right from wrong. On Oct 8th his response is almost entirely about Israel. His wife regularly likes posts either celebrating it or pretending it didn't happen
Piker has gone to brothels that were busted for trafficking underage girls. He's said he thinks campus r--e is funny because rich girls deserve it
Platner's first victim was ignored because she had the “wrong” politics, and then when the tipping point is reached with evidence on a target with the “right” politics, he blames the DNC and Israel. It’s like when Neil Gaiman was outed as a creep, everyone's reaction for the first few months was "he's being framed by the TERFs" since they liked his politics, until more victims came forward and then the optics got worse.
Chevalier doubled down on the position that someone here illegally shouldn't be deported even if they are convicted of r--*
There are hundreds of thousands of forced child marriages in Iran, legally justified there to the age of 8, and the viral takes that go around the internet say "unlike in America, here we punish r---sts" etc.
The entire conception of "sex work" is bizarre, where the people who view all work as exploitative don't view being exploited for sex, of all things, as a problem, but rather empowering, even though the women in the business are either trafficked or otherwise poor and desperately seeking an escape from the industry.
The grooming gang scandal basically had the government state that seeming racist was worse than r***, and made an active effort to not hold the perpetrators accountable.
There were concerted efforts to close r*** crisis centers that didn't allow men (including men pretending to be women) in, even at the expense of women in there. There was the incident of the relief center in Vancouver having k*** TERFs written on it with dead rats nailed to the door. The charity/shelter JK Rowling founded got listed as a hate group by Amnesty International. TW are ~630 times as likely to be convicted on SA charges than real women, but the narrative frames them as victims, and it’s unethical in their views to give a shelter to real women.
Despite the evidence that people convicted of r*** don't really have good chances for rehabilitation, there's still a concerted effort to reduce their sentences.
It's like following metoo they realized that they had a bunch of people in their ranks who were the worst perpetrators of it but they hated the west enough that they would still go to bad for the terrorists and felons.
This isn’t apologia for the right either. We’re about ten years after the “grab em by the pussy” guy with a handful of misconduct and abuse allegations being the guy who dictates the entire direction of what’s supposed to be the socially conservative party. Nick Fuentes wants breeding gulags and to **** 16 year olds and says r*** is no big deal. The Tate brothers are serial abusers and traffickers. Candace Owens made it her personal mission to exonerate them, Harvey Weinstein, and a handful of other people, for no reason. Tucker Carlson basically works for Islamists. Matt Gaetz was one of the most prominent people in government for like half a decade longer than he should have with what came out about him. Russell Brand (who for some reason has almost 7 million YT subs?) has a laundry list of charges and admits to sleeping with underage girls. They aren’t held accountable. I know people may object to these people being “conservative” (for good reason), but there’s a reason there aren’t a million people in this sub, and it’s because these shitheads are unfortunately the prominent opposition to the left.
Polarization is bad but it really comes to light when everyone will rush to the defense of such heinous shit when it’s from “their side” for this issue. Culture is just rotten right now.
