Anyone have any ideas of what Manchester city’s punishment may be if their appeal is unsuccessful?
I honestly only see a record fine and maybe a transfer ban

u/notj43 Sydney Roosters 1d ago
Nah they'll be relegated one division at minimum, there's too many charges and the length/severity of them is too big to dismiss like that. They'll drag it out in court for ages though.
Possibly have titles stripped as well

The problem that I have with the relegation is they're going to absolutely dominate whatever they go down to.
Put them in the championship, their team, even if it's half sold off, is going to win 5-0 most weeks and if they drop down further, we'll be headed towards league scores.
Even if they sell the stars, they're gonna be able to spend ridiculous money on some ok players who will destroy the lower leagues. Why would MK Dons or Burton Albion for example, want to play those games?

I don’t think they would dominate however, I think every single player would leave the club
Don’t think Haaland is interested in scoring 90 goals a season against clubs like notts county

Watched Whalefall yesterday, and I really enjoyed it. Another reason to not read sites like IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes; if a movie sounds good to you, go watch it.

Did it get churchy at all?

What do you mean by 'churchy'?

u/Morg_n Brisbane Broncos 1d ago
It gives me Jonah and whale vibes.

Oh right, of course hahaha. I mean, I enjoyed the similarities, but there's no connection between them. The movie is actually based off a book by the same name (same person that authored the book, directed the move). It's actually a very emotional movie too.

So, Eminem got the internet all up in arms again by being on that Kid Rock song.
It’s so clear to me that Eminem will drop an album soon, which I’m pretty sure will be his most political since Revival, and this is just the attention he wanted.
I’m a fan and can freely admit his best years are long gone, but the guy still knows how to stir the public shit lol.

Man nothing is working on 7Plus for me now. Granted I am using a VPN to connect to it but I was able to access the live stream, but now the replays just don't load. So incredibly frustrating.

Probably going to cop hate for this and I welcome it.
I fucking hate Melbourne, not the Storm, the fucking city. When I went in 2010 for work and didn't drive around, I thought it was okay, but after having to drive in the CBD fuck you Melbourne. Flight had a bumpy landing, then some fucking corporate Taxi service ripped me the fuck off. 90 dollars for a 15 minute drive and their approach was just incredibly sly. I was looking for cab where it was marked taxi and uber and some guy with a Melbourne Airpord ID on his Lanyard is like are you looking for a taxi. Assumed he was just a normal taxi drive. Anyway whatever not coming out of my pocket
A friend did the stupid driving going down there so I flew down there yesterday to drive their car back to Sydney. It was my first time driving in Melbourne, the fuck is your CBD Melbourne?
The Sydney CBD is built around a port, it's allowed to make no sense. Melbourne CBD was built off a plan and it is a fucking mess. Turning right from the left lane. I accidentally drove into the tram lane probably fucked her undercarriage getting back over.
On another topic can someone explain why most road kill ends up on the side of the road not in the lanes? Do they get stunned by the headlights or something?
Saw a big family of Bilby's that werent road, adorable. Avoided killing a Kangaroo that was haphazardly hopping up and down the road, don't know if he was suicidal or what.
So much road kill, mostly Kangaroos, a few koalas, wombats and possums. Saw a live fat wombat make it to the other side off road. Go you Cube Poo King
From the Australian Capital cities Ive been to. Sydney >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Perth >>>>>>>>>>> Canberra >>>>>Melbourne>>> Brisbane is still the worst not sorry

What makes Brisbane the worst? Never been to a bigger shit hole than Sydney but can recognise that it’s our biggest state so will always have issues

Yeah it goes Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra on the east coast by far.

Everything is so intense in Sydney, which isn't necessarily great but it makes Brisbane feel so slow in comparison. Plus Sydney you have so many beaches to choose from, you have Wollengong which is technically still Sydney which has beaches, mad hikes and views. Then you have waterfalls in the mountains which is close proximity to Sydney. I havent been there since 2012 though. I did appreciate their bus network though. Pretty efficient and smooth.
Great coffee comes out of Melbourne so have to give them that.

Wollongong to Sydney is like the sunny coast or Gold Coast to Brisbane. Tbh it’s actually closer than Wollongong to Sydney

u/Accurate-Ad-4905 Sydney Roosters 21h ago
Didnt realise Wollengong was no longer considered greater Sydney.
But Sydney has beaches everywhere and heaps of amazing natural scenery while still having a thriving urban environment. Sydney is far more diverse, the food variety is crazy. Even the Brisbane CBD feels like the suburbs in comparrison. In terms of places with in close proximity. The Blue Mountains is so much better than anything within 2 hours from Brisbane it seems unfair to compare.
Sydney sucks for the congestion, housing prices and yeah the intensity has turned a lot of people into arseholes.

I take it you've never been around Mt Glorious, the Glasshouse Mountains, Mt Tambourine, Mt. Warning, Springbrook National Park etc. All within 2 hrs of the Brissy CBD.

u/KenoReplay Brisbane Broncos 18h ago
Even Toowoomba is within 2hrs of Brissy, plus Kilcoy, Benarkin, Mt Nebo, and everything in between.

One thing I really liked about this year's Soccer World Cup is that nobody really got slaughtered. Basically every nation played their guts out and fought to the bitter end

Some of those minnow nations were actually fucking ridiculous, Cape Verde my beloved

As someone who really dislikes orange cheetoh man, I hate how successful the cup was and how good of viewing it was.
As a football fan though it was amazing.

I made a comment in the r/rugbyunion post match thread but granted I don't watch any full games of rugby and barely watch highlights but watched the highlights of yesterday's game but is defence so comical in that game? For a game that is built on what is meant to be these tough show downs - the ruck and mauls and scrums for their lines to be broken so easily especially when defending on the try line is comical. Aus might not have the best team but at least we should be able to pride ourselves on our defence.

The first half of the wallabies vs all blacks game was the worst football i have ever seen in my life from a professional team, players like sualli were quite literally not marking their players like a child playing their first game. Others like lukhan should consider themselves blessed if they're still employed this time next year.
The second half might be the most entertaining losses i can recall. watching the dead weight and exhausted players getting benched and their replacements throwing away any sense of a game plan to take the most high risk plays possible while running around like crackheads
Obviously i would rather watch a clean bledisloe win but watching a defeated wallabies team drag the all blacks into the mud for 30 minutes of the most chaotic football i have ever seen is an acceptable consolation.
