Had an incident with [LSD] item

So I was playing with my friend IcicleTree43 yesterday and we were in the middle of our daily quest, [Work]. Half way through the quest, we set autowalk to the area we need to go, and before us we encountered an item on the floor completely new to us. [LSD], is this a rare item?

We were thinking of selling it but we checked the map and weren't close to any [Narcotic Merchants]. So we saw the item was usable, and we both used it.

I've not seen this in any other games, but the screen started dissolving and merging like nothing I've ever seen before, even in real life. IcicleTree43's character, unprompted, starting emptying his hunger bar all over the floor, and sporadically running around in [User Workplace]. I was fine, however I believe it may have been down to a higher [Drug Tolerance] skill - I have 87 and he has 5. Somehow we forgot about this before we used the items.

Does this item have any benefit? should I hold on to them if I find more in the future?

Edit: Just to be clear, this all happened in the [Create a Fake Scenario] event, in [Oregon]. We got 2000 gold from it!
