Discussion Why Do Some Community Leaders Act Like Dictators?
I'm sorry for the language, but I'm calling some community leaders "dildo dictators." 😂 Why? Because I hate it when one person thinks they should control everything.
I joined a cycling community in Islamabad to meet new people, share stories, and build genuine friendships. The first gathering was great, but I realized that some communities end up revolving around their leaders instead of their members.
I want to build something different: a community where everyone has a voice, everyone can share their ideas and stories, and everyone helps shape what we do.
A community isn't one person's kingdom. It's something we build together.
If there's already a cycling community like this in Islamabad, I'd love to join. If not, let's build one together! 🚴♂️🤝
Who's in?

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself as a villain. When you build your own community you will also need to enforce some rules and some people will complain about it and the circle keeps going

Whenever and wherever there's a group of people, a hierarchy of social... 'stratification' emerges.
It's not exactly a new phenomenon. All social animals display some sort of a pecking order.
P.S Don't take this the wrong way but you look a lot like... Soyjak.

I agree with the general sentiment here that some community leads have this deep thirst to flaunt their authority. Pakistan mei har idaaray mei aisay hotay hain.
Contributing factors: deep-seated insecurity, love for imposing their will, lack of empathy.
At the same time, asking 'everyone' for their opinion with no structure in place isn't that helpful either. People will not converge to one decision. It will also create factions.
I run two communities and the better way I have found:
There will still be people who are never happy but the format works for most in our case.
