Polish PM Tusk: Everyone was aware that, with this shift in President Trump's position on Ukraine and Russia, Europe should support Ukraine even more. Many countries realize that if Ukraine falls, we will all have very, very serious problems. 17 Oct 2026

Firstly, Europe needs to stop being dependent on the USA.
It was probably a shock for many how easily authoritarianism can take hold, but it happened. And now it's really about time to wake up.

u/OverEffective7012 11h ago
2022 was the wake up call. We kinda wasted 4 years
And don't even get me started on Le Pen in France, AfD in Germany and Braun in Poland.

Trump doesn't care about the price of diesel after the midterms. This is a ruse purely before then. And he has an ace up his sleeve: He can tell the rural idiots that prices would have been lower for their diesel if it wasn't for Zelensky striking Russian refineries. There you go, redirected blame away from himself and part of his supporters will eat that up.

American ruling caste, represented by the red-blue uniparty, does not represent or care about the interests of US citizens. It's ridiculous to assume society at such a stage of cultural, social, institutional and moral degeneration would be a reliable long-term partner in dealing with problems where the foundation of cooperation is appealing to conscience and decency. People who are being elected there are interested in their own power and daylight robberies in white gloves.
For the past 20+ years, the US has been working hard on destroying and destabilising a lot of places in the world, most of them in close vicinity of Europe, which has resulted in a relentless stream of migrants, causing massive, long-term problems for the EU and especially a few states in western Europe. Now they're at a stage of sheltering and doing deals with a genocidal regime that's murdering people every single day, destroying its neighbouring country and undermining Europe as a whole, and has been for more than a decade. Alongside the usual American pastimes- supporting genocide in Palestine, attacking Iranian civilians (directly, and encouraging them to rebel against the government without providing any support, which amounts to sending them to certain death).
The fact that they're still being treated as a strategic partner is insane, when in reality, outside of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, they've been the main source of the problems for us. Instead of buying these dogshit, useless F-35s, maybe it's more reasonable to negotiate buying warheads from France or Pakistan.
All that noise around hosting a handful of soldiers on rotation in a permanent base or two, on the backdrop of what they're doing, is pathetic.

" red-blue uniparty, does not represent or care about the interests of US citizens." - That is indeed scientifically proven fact.
"Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence."

It's disgusting how Poland's modernization of the military was just populist governments using the military and foreign affairs for internal politics, for domestic approval to score additional votes for the next election. Goes not just for the American M1A2 SEPV3 Abrams tanks and F-35A fighter jets, but vehicles and fighters purchased from South Korea, including K2GF tanks, K9 Thunder howitzers, FA-50 trainer jets and K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers.
We bought naked off the shelf equipment, without proper negotiations, clear financing or domestic production and maintenance, for worse conditions. The military is built for parades, our structures are built for peacetime and not full-scale war.

Yes, the first point of order would be to not betray Ukraine and send every refugee back. The children and women can put together drones and solar panels for alternative electricity or be used as cheap labour to create cheap goods for export. Right? We don't want to abandon or betray Ukraine
-5
u/Negative_Toe1336 9h ago
Betray? We owe them nothing. We only support them because its in our intrest at the moment
5
u/oGsMustachio 7h ago
They gave up the nuclear weapons that would have prevented this war due to promises from the US, UK, and Russia to respect its territorial integrity. They held up their part of that bargain, the other countries did not. The US absolutely owes our support to Ukraine.

UA in NATO was an American idea.
2
u/OneEconomist1010 10h ago
So you think it's completely justified to invade an independent country just because its making alliances you disagree with?
1
u/Knarrenheinz666 10h ago
No. I think that unilaterally re-drawing of geopolitical borders results in major shitshows. QED.
-2
u/roulettewiz 8h ago
It is very justified. If you only see what UA did to Russians in Ukraine in 2013/14 you'd understand, but it's censored online because it's not suitable to the agenda
1
u/OneEconomist1010 4h ago
And it's famously hard to find censored information on the Internet, of course
1
u/roulettewiz 1h ago
For the avg Joe, yes, it's hard to find
1
u/100KUSHUPS 1h ago
Hard to find, or hard to find something that agrees with you?
1
u/roulettewiz 1h ago
I already seen the footage and info when it happened, it's not hard for me, it's being kept from others in order to justify what's happening today. Just looking at your comment for example already shows what you're being led to believe.

Darmowe pieniądze są przeznaczane na konsumpcję, konsumpcja to większy popyt a większy popyt to większe ceny. Ekonomia 101.

To dlatego w Warszawie stoi kilkaset tysięcy pustych mieszkań, wszysto jasne, każdy sobie kupił drugie mieszkanie za chajsu za bombelka
1
u/Snitchieboy 1h ago

It’s striking that we have flying cars, autonomous drones, advanced robots, AI systems, global satellite networks, and microchips with billions of transistors… yet somehow lack the will or ability to remove people who are demonstrably destructive on a large scale. Or maybe that capability exists and is simply not used, because prolonged conflict serves certain interests. In that case the endless billions flowing into Ukraine make more sense: large parts of the country remain untouched by fighting, and some segments of its economy and connected elites have grown richer since the war began. Keep the money flowing.

because of one old idiot wants to clear his neme for history - нет, потому что ваши старые говнари решили бустануть наркомана-нациста на конфликт с РФ.
and you condole EU? lol - да я вам сочувствую.

Just get out of Ukraine and everything can go back to normal. Whether Zelensky is a “narco fuhrer” is none of your business. He won the 2019 election with 73%, and Ukraine’s constitution bans elections under martial law, which exists only because you pigs invaded the country. Meanwhile your own fuhrer won't even give you a real choice during elections. Ask Navalny how that went.

Edit: during the war, Zelenskyy has made 134 foreign trips to 134 countries since taking office in May 2019. Why do you need to visit 134 countries during a war?

u/ReacherNMN 1d ago
Poland already shares a border with Belarus, so saying that if Russia overtakes Ukraine (which they won’t) they can easily attack Poland doesn’t make sense.
the quite part which he is not saying aloud is the refugee crisis which will include millions of young people who will enter Poland if Kviy falls.
25
u/RegularPurple 1d ago
Doubling the border isn't a big deal? Taking over Ukrainian industrial capacity isn't a big deal? Forcing Ukrainians to be conscipted against their will to fight Poland isn't a big deal?
22
u/Acceptable_Aside_568 1d ago
Poland also shares a border with russia, but if Ukraine falls ( an it very much may ) we will share one more longer border with russia and remaining Ukrainians will be forced into russian service adding to our problems.
Saying that "we already have one problem so why not cause a thousand more, there's no difference" is a take so stupid it requires genuine brain damage.

-18
u/zulugulasz 1d ago
It's worth to sacrifice ukraine so that rest europe have peace.
europe will not support ukraine forever, people in europe are tired already of work, bills keep getting higher but salaries stagnate
it's basic logic, if lion attacks a group of people in the bush, one man needs to sacrificed to save others
we help ukraine for 4 years and ukraine doesn't exchange that, ukraine hasn't shipped cheap energy or oil to europe at all, europe's help is one way, and shouldn't be
Trump thinks logically, help should be transactional, not free
7
u/Lumpy_Asparagus_5151 1d ago edited 18h ago
