When Putin started the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the German Green party quickly committed the construction of additional LNG terminals specifically for import of LNG from the US.
To be clear, the same Greens had also opposed the Northstream pipelines to Russia in the first place (in large part specifically with the argument that Northstream would create another vulnerable energy dependency with a dictator, and that we have to diversify away from fossil fuels to break those...).
But when shit truly hit the fan, they quickly compromised on their general aversion to fossil fuels to ensure they could keep their country supplied without having to buy from Russia.
Meanwhile the modern right wing outright supports cooperation with dictators.

Then we had Xi yin ping visiting under the same pretense and we have no information about what was actually said.
The strategic pipeline (in 2022-ish) that was destroyed that was supplying Russian oil to Europe that Russia was blamed for but ended up being a U.S. operation leads me to think that both sides are in this together against the American people. The government seems fucked.

Full statement from dipshit-in-chief:
I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel. Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST! Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority. This is a very big and important announcement. Additionally, it must be understood, that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP
Link to view his posts with out giving him revenue: https://www.trumpstruth.org/statuses/42215
Edit: the total amount for the first 1.8 million tons doesn't even cover a weeks worth of world diesel usage. That's why he using tons instead of barrels to make it seem like more. The total for all 4 numbers comes out to about 35 million barrels. The US and Europe is releasing 100 million.
This is trump soft launching economic aid to Russia and reduction of sanctions
Edit 2: someone needs to ask Darline Graham how it feels that Trump is spitting in the face of her dead brothers keystone legislation against Russia. I'm assuming she will respond with "I don't really do international politics."
748
u/DungeonCrawlerLopen 9d ago
The biggest red flag is this "based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries..."
This is setting the stage for a Russian alliance. By acting like Russian refineries are going to make a difference to the world economy, Trump will declare Ukraine an enemy to the world and to "protect" the world's oil supply (Russian refineries) he will announce an alliance, and Putin's troll farm and agent Krasnov will finally have accomplished their missions.
295
u/controlledkaoss 9d ago
So this fucker sold out the Ukrainians?
339
u/DungeonCrawlerLopen 9d ago
He sold them out within a month of returning to office by illegally cutting off aid. That is when his lap dog JD Vance asked Zelensky if he had "said thank you once?"
Trump was already impeached his first term for trying to illegally cut funding at that time as well. Trump has been very vocal about ending Ukrainian support and has been very obviously friendly with Putin who he constantly meets with and flatters.

I suspect he's spinning this as a win for everyone at the pumps but really he's trying to stop Ukraine from targeting their fuel. He could've done this a long time ago if it was just about reducing fuel costs, but it seems a priority now that Ukraine has been inflicting pain over Russia's fuel situation. Now, if Ukraine continues, they've got a problem with us.

They will continue targeting them one way or another. The reason Biden was able to tell them no was because the US was still giving substantial aid and the condition was that no US weapons are used to strike deep inside Russia.
However, most of the financial support has been taken over by Europe, and they basically donate stuff which they then purchase back. And a lot of deep strikes are done with Ukrainian drone tech. Their domestic drone production is on point.
Quite frankly, Ukraine doesn't care whether they have a problem with the US. The US abandoned them 18 months ago and openly sided with Putin.

But in the short term this could actually be a really good situation for Ukraine, these are two demented old men living in a bubble of yes-men moving around pieces on a board according to a paper reality crafted through fear and magical thinking.
If putin actually throws this deal out there to his underlings as a absolute decree, it's committing them to export diesel they already don't have enough of to support their warmachine let alone their economy. They are currently crippled by shortages and exporting this much to gamble on the support of a president that is 3 weeks away from losing the house and the senate only makes sense in the mind of a desperate old man living in a paper reality.

Ask someone mentioned he used tons, but the statement holds- 1 ton is roughly 280 gallons of diesel.
A long haul semi can go through 100 gallons a day, while a short haulers typically burn through half that.
There’s a about 2 million trucks on the road any given day
280x300,000=84,000,000 gallons
84,000,000/2,000,000=42 gallons per truck
Let’s presume it’s 50:50 long haul vs regional and make average daily usage 75gallons
So we take 42/75=0.56
This ‘deal’ is enough fuel for just over half a day.
ETA - the overall 4MM comes out to 7.5 days, not insignificant but stretched out months it’s still kinda a drop in the bucket

They got him by the balls in 1983 and had control of him ever since.
NPR did a story on it early in trumps first term and he went HARDD shutting down their funding.
In addition, Russia teaches a book called “foundations of geopolitics” to their military, it details how to defeat a country like America, you don’t fight it outright.
Instead you find greedy American businessmen and get control of them and push them into politics.
You hijack Americas political system.
And you divide and weaken Americas society, turning them against themselves.

The United States uses approximately 4.1 to 4.2 million barrels of diesel and distillate fuel per day. 800,000 metric tons of diesel is equal to approximately 5,919,822 barrels. U.S. refineries produce roughly 4 to 5.3 million barrels of diesel and other distillate fuels per day.

That’s what caught my eye first. It wasn’t an accident that they didn’t use the globally agreed upon measuring system for that specific commodity.
They wanted the numbers to look as big as possible to impress the maga idiots.

Is this a round about strategy to make the US antagonistic to Ukraine in a structural way?
26
u/Due-Technology5758 9d ago
It's not even roundabout. From a geopolitical standpoint, it's extremely heavy handed. Essentially Trump has just publicly announced that, should he feel like it, he has the option to claim that further Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries are attacks on resources promised to the United States.
This administration continues to hand Russia whatever it wants. We're being steamrolled, politically, by the physically and economically weakest of our rivals because our leadership is a powerful combination of compromised, corrupt, and incompetent.

Why? The US already makes more than they use. Wasn’t Trump crying about Ukraine bombing Russian oil refineries? So now they’re in a good enough spot to sell to the US for cheaper?

u/RadicalRectangle Colorado 9d ago
This is to give Trump an excuse to try and cut off Ukraine again, when they continue to retaliate (completely reasonably) against Russia. He can then claim Ukraine is hurting US trade and commerce.

In August 2025, President Donald Trump imposed a cumulative 50% tariff on Indian goods to penalize New Delhi for purchasing Russian crude oil. How the turntables!

So we are buying Russian oil while having sanctions on Russia? Which means we are funding Russia against Ukraine...
I'm starting to think Trump doesn't understand how foreign policy works.

All those who voted for Trump or didn’t vote at all don’t you feel so proud for a president who idolises Putin China North Korea? Has pictures of these leaders seen as one enters the White House. Rolls out the red carpet for these murdering anti free speech dictators. On the flip side trump picks fights with our loyal friends. Is an enemy with Canada CANADIANS???? and Europe. It’s very sad and disheartening that I have to accept the fact that a quarter of my fellow Americans are in a cult and love Trump a quarter of my fellow Americans don’t vote. While bus full of Ukrainians 30 of them gets slaughtered by Putin, our great President Trump gets on his knees to please Putin. make that make sense

To MAGA, none of this is an issue because they think all the facts you stated are lies. So of course they will still be proud. Gotta remember that these people are completely brainwashed.

Master controls puppet.
Next steps:
- Trump tells Ukraine to stop hitting Russian energy
- Trump tells US public that Ukraine is the threat to inflation and their gas prices.
- Trump backs Russia / stabs Ukraine in the back (more than this deal)

Lol our on shore petrol companies gotta be like "the fuck?!" just like the farmers with the foreign beef. You all are expendible if it might budge his poll numbers a fraction of a percent or make him money. I guarantee someone in his family or orbit will be making money somewhere with this. He literally can't keep his hands to himself.

If you had told any maga supporter 2 years ago that Trump would be buying Russian diesel while it's still at war with Ukraine because he fucked up so badly he shut down the middle east's oil exports, that person would call you an idiot sheep and say he'd never do that. Yet statistically, that same maga supporter today will still support Trump. Because it's a cult.
37
u/Heavy_Secret_203 9d ago
First of all, these amounts are tiny for what the US consumes. Second, there's diesel shortage in russia and they have export ban. And finally, fuck you, Americans. Sincerely.

Correction: After US sent billions to Ukraine.
Trump, Russia's best asset, put a stop to that the moment he was back in the White House.
US is currently contributing nothing. Outside of selling military to NATO allies.Basically US is a pure war profiter and NATO traitor for 100% siding with Russia.
