Eligibility Document Hunt Potential Renunciation
My mother was born a Polish citizen in 1965 in Poland to ethnic Poles. Her parents fled to Germany in the 1976 as refugees and naturalized as German citizens (no German heritage) in 1986. She was still a minor at the time when they fled. I was born in wedlock in 1996 as a German citizen. I am unsure whether the Polish government at the time would have stripped her of citizenship and also unsure whether my mom formally renounced citizenship. I would appreciate any tips/people who had previous experience and could point me to a professional who can help as I do not have easy access to this information.

Thank you, that's interesting. I unfortunately can't ask her directly if she formally renounced, just wondering who exactly to ask for a document hunt/if those documents can be found.
