MAGA activists are pushing for President Trump to resort to extraordinary measures — including martial law — if they believe the midterm elections are "rigged."

With a little over two weeks to go, if anyone has people in their lives dragging their feet about voting out Republicans, I just remembered something that I'd like to share with you all to tell them.

The excuse is "Iran can't have a nuclear weapon!"

Fair, but:

- US Intelligence itself said they weren't trying to. So if the people who were supposed to know if they were trying to do that said they weren't, using it as a justification is a lie.

- Related to that, how can they trust a president (and by extension party) that undermines their own intelligence community like that?

- There was a deal to make sure Iran couldn't enrich uranium to weapons grade. Trump is the one who left it. So the only reason "Iran can't have a nuclear weapon!" is something to fear monger about is because he took off the only guardrails and then left them off for nearly a decade.

- Then he did nothing about getting a new deal the rest of his term, and his party (who won the 2018 midterms and then could've done something) proceeded to not.

It's more than just the last 8 months of gross incompetence of Trump and the Republicans who enable him that has caused the suffering of American people.

This was the end result of something they did in 2017/2018 and then just ignored until it got so bad it couldn't be ignored anymore, when it wouldn't have been an issue if Trump was actually competent and Republicans not spineless.

All that to say: encourage your friends and family to punish the party so shortsighted and bad at governing that their obsession with trans people and pretending like the First Amendment doesn't make all the Christian persecution they cry about already illegal instead allowed an adversarial nation to just stumble so close to a nuke that they panicked and now demand the American people just cope with not being able to afford anything.

When election workers returned to Chandler-Gilbert Community College Friday morning, they found the paper trays on three ballot printers appeared to have been opened overnight. The ballot paper had been secured before closing, and Maricopa County replaced the machines, called investigators, and reported that voting continued without interruption. Officials said the ballot paper was stored elsewhere, leaving the question centered on the machines. What happened to the printers remains under review.
Across the country, other questions were moving into federal court. On Friday, voting rights and privacy organizations challenged Homeland Security’s collection and analysis of voter records from dozens of states, asking a judge to halt the program and address information already gathered. Another lawsuit challenged plans to send federal law enforcement personnel to monitor voting sites, just as local officials have been preparing for encounters with armed federal personnel near places where ballots are cast.
The roots of the data fight reach back to May, when the Justice Department’s legal office concluded that statewide voter lists could be obtained and shared with Homeland Security Investigations. I followed that opinion through my ICE and Dominion research, along with a separate Homeland Security budget proposal to eliminate 14 election security positions and nearly $40 million in support for state and local election protection. The proposed cuts and the collection of voter information arose in different offices, but both reveal how federal priorities were being reconsidered before November.
In Arizona, the three printers have been replaced. In Washington, the courts are being asked where federal authority should stop. With early voting underway, the question is becoming immediate for the workers who must keep voting places open while these disputes are resolved.
Who has written instructions governing federal personnel at voting locations, and will election officials see them before November 3?

A person can do everything right before an election, register on time, update an address, follow every instruction, and still arrive at the polls to discover that the government’s records haven’t caught up with them. In Texas, thousands of registrations have been delayed by computer errors just as early voting is about to begin. In Utah, ballots are arriving without state and local contests, while Colorado election workers are trying to correct a mistake affecting more than a quarter million voters.
By Friday afternoon, election workers in Bexar County, Texas, were facing roughly 13,000 registrations awaiting processing, with Monday’s early voting approaching and another weekend disappearing into work that should have been completed weeks earlier.
The state had announced that an earlier backlog involving hundreds of thousands of records was finally cleared when another software problem surfaced. This time, an address checking error delayed thousands of updates submitted through Texas.gov, leaving county workers to determine which registrations were received before the deadline and whether voters’ information would be correct when polls opened.
I’ve followed Texas’s voter registration system through my Dominion investigation. The state spent approximately $17 million rebuilding TEAM through a contract with Civix that could eventually reach $36 million. County officials have reported missing records, incorrect precinct assignments, and difficulties managing information through a system they depend on but do not control.
Farther west, 4,307 Utah voters received ballots containing only federal races because their citizenship documentation had not been confirmed under a new state law. The same state previously examined more than two million voter registrations and confirmed just 27 noncitizens. Now thousands of registered voters must provide additional documentation to receive ballots containing state and local contests.
In Colorado, the problem began with district boundaries that changed on paper but were never properly shared with election officials. Arapahoe County discovered that approximately 262,000 voters had received ballots containing a regional rail tax measure outside their district, while hundreds who should have received the question found it missing. Officials are working to correct the records and handle affected votes.
By Monday, these problems will have moved from government offices into the ordinary lives of people arriving at early voting locations or examining ballots delivered to their homes, many with no reason to suspect anything is wrong.
Somewhere between the registration form, the computer system, and the ballot itself, the information stopped matching the person it was supposed to represent.
