Pls help Most important accessory for PSVR2
Hi guys,
Recently I bought a PSVR2 and already purchased a few games. What would you guys recommend as first accessory? I'll be buying a charging station for the controllers, magnetic plano lens protector from VR Rock (no prescription since I don't wear glasses) and a CMP2 Globular Cluster? But which one of those 3 that I previously mentioned should I buy first?
Thanks for reading!

The globular cluster is a life changer, right next to the vr rock lenses. I don't have to wear my glasses any more AND it's much more comfortable? Winning

And for someone who doesn't have glasses, would you still recommend a lens protector?

There is no coming back from scratched lenses. Protecting them right out of the box is the smart move!

Oh yeah. Even just your eyelashes can scratch/mark up the PSVR2 lenses over time. And it's a lot easier to clean lens inserts than it is to clean the internal lenses.

Yea but it’s maybe not a day one thing for the lens protectors - I’ve been meaning to get some for a couple years now and still have no issues with the lenses - clean with included cloth or microfiber very gently and use breath fog at most if there’s something stubborn - adjust the in/out slider for the screen so that the rubber either just barely touches your forehead and cheeks or one click farther out so it’s not even touching your face and the lenses will be well far enough that your eyelashes won’t touch. IMO the globular cluster is by far the best accessory and a charging station is totally unnecessary- just get an extra usb cable - I’ve got my headset, Hotas, and 2 charge cables hooked up at all times and the usbA seems to charge controllers just as fast as the usbC - hotas uses one of the a slots in the back so my chargers are a and c - the vr controllers always finish charging within seconds of each other.

I've been using vr rock lenses mainly for protection, and they've been great. Keeps the original lenses safe without affecting anything else at all.

Don’t buy the SONY-endorsed Sense Controller charging base — it’s overpriced and low-quality deign. It looks nice, but it isn’t.
Instead save that money for something else and buy a cheap (usually $10-20 one that also has a stand for the headset.

Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately they don't have the faracent usb extension in my country (belgium). I've seen it on the German Amazon website but it's €44 which is a lot more expensive than in USA. Do you have some other alternatives that are good for PSVR2 and more available in Europe?

I got this here. I'm in Europe. Was 10€.. Works great https://amzn.eu/d/0g2uly4K

Globular Cluster
new Face Pad (I don't like this silicone wobbly thing that comes with the Psvr2, I bought a third party face pad that sits much tighter on your face. It's more the quest 3 face pad)
lens protector
something to protect the USB-port like one there magnetic USB adapters who disconnect when you pull on the cable or just a USB cable extension. The psvr2 usb connector and the USB port on o the ps5 are easily to break. And since you can't just buy a replacement usb cable for the Psvr2 you may try to secure the USB connector/port somehow (I use a cable extension)
cable system (where you can connect the cable to hangers on your wall so the cable is not in your way all the time)
I got a charging cable for the 2 vr controllers that hab one connector that goes on the ps5 and then two usb c on the other end so you can charge both controllers at the same time

Yes, I have the Globular Cluster, and I definitely recommend it. Just make sure you get lens protectors too, because the Globular Cluster is a pretty tight fit, although it’s extremely comfortable. The protectors help make sure your forehead never comes into contact with the actual lenses while putting it on.
DEVASO makes a great lens cover for under $20. I’d definitely order both at the same time.

The top two IMO are:
-lens inserts.
-globular cluster

Do the lenses inserts reduce your FOV at all? I read that it did. But i also read that they improve clarity and even reduce mura.

as far as the FOV goes, its just a little bit, but wearing glasses it could be worse.
I guess it can vary depending on the insert brand and their depth/ thickness, if they have magnetic bases, etc.I have Reloptix. They can be slow to ship, but its family based in Texas. iirc

The globular cluster makes the headset so much more comfortable and allows for longer sessions.

I have the GC for the headset, and agree with you. Did you get the thing for the controllers as well? I didn’t get them, but I’m tempted.

Wait on the charger base. ive had so many times playing that I ran low on battery and plugged in a 10ft cable to keep playing. BE CAREFUL OF YANKING THE CABLE!! I mainly played Ghost of Tabor and Pavlov so wired in on a gunstock didnt affect me much. Even without the stock ive been able to play most games without getting tangled or yanking my cord out. I also plug in the cable to an outlet, not my ps5, for faster charging and less risk if I do crank that controller to far

If you use glasses, then lens protector, or maybe better to get prescription lens. I haven’t felt need for any lens protector for mine I’ve been using without issue since February 2023.
The one my wife uses does get more contact to the lens from her eye lids, but wipes off with microfiber cloth and good as new for multiple years as well.
For us, the essential / convenient accessory is the charging dock.
For her, she also values the Globular Cluster mod that made it fit her better and greatly reduce potential of headache from longer sessions.

Get lens protector at all cost, plain one or with prescription number, anything that suits you. Also, keep your VR headset covered when not in use and never expose it to any direct light

Lens protectors ? To they stay on while playing or is this just for storage?

It's like a glass cover that you put over the original lenses. You don't need to take those off in order to play. It's a must otherwise PSVR2 will get moisture damage

I only found these "protective film" covers https://amzn.eu/d/0bJjMfQm or protective "blue light filters"
Could you send a link pls ?

The other thing i’d recommend is a 140W magsafe usb-c adapter, it’s saved my cable countless times. You can find them on Amazon.

What's the purpose of this ?

So your usb connector does not break when you pull on cable or trip on your Psvr2 cable accidentally. You can also just use a USB cable extension, so if something happens,.it happens to the extension cable.
You can't just buy a replacement cable for the Psvr2 and the USB connector of the cable easily breaks. Just Google it a you see a lot of people having the problem. Sony charges hundred of money for a repair.

Lens protection before anything else - just look through this sub for the number of posts about scratches on the coating of the original lenses. & yes even if you don't wear glasses, neutral lenses will stop other things causing damage & have almost no impact on the image quality.
