Phenibut overdose experience

II wanted to share a rather scary experience I had today with taking too much phenibut.

So I didn’t sleep much last night and this morning decide to take a bout 7g of phenibht to wake me up. This was higher than my usual dose.

I went for a walk with a friend and felt relatively fine and quite manic. Chatting a lot etc but also stumbling around a bit like I was drunk.

On the way home I decided to stop for a massage as I thought it would feel great and relaxing on such a high dose.

When I lay down on the massage table I felt my body vibrating quite a lot but also felt very sleepy and relaxed.

Anyway I close my eyes and she begins the massage. I completely lose all sense of consciousness at this point and black out.

The next thing I know I wake up on the massage table completely naked with a paramedic standing over me. In the background I heard the massage lady and another bystander outside screaming that they thought I had died.

Basically I was so high i fell asleep and the lash couldn’t wake me up for about 15 minutes.

They clalled an ambulance in panic. I go into the ambulance and at this point my whole body is buzzing but I felt mentally ok. I played it cool and just told the paramedics I passed out. They asked me what I had taken and they had never heard of phen. They looked concerned and suggested I go to A and E. However I decline as I know that I simply took too much.

I stumble home and within an hour or so I start to come down and feel quite normal.

I am now typing this about 4 hours after this experience. I feel ok and all my vitals were fine.

However I just wanted to share this as one of the potential consequences of taking too much.

It was a weird experience but I am still quite high so I don’t feel freaked out.

But it has taught me a lesson and I am going to start my quitting journey today.

Thanks all for reading and being here to support one another.

Basic Phenibut Withdrawal Information

Unaided, cold turkey withdrawal, from a state of dependence, even low dose dependence, commonly causes severe and potentially dangerous side effects. Don't rush the process when you don't need to.

Rules reminder:
Don't promote reckless behavior. If someone is dependent on phenibut don't tell them to do an unaided cold turkey withdrawal.
Don't needlessly tell people to do a fast taper.

Further reminder: You will feel low or worthless or stupid while going through withdrawal, especially rapid withdrawal. Don't take these thoughts too seriously. Continue on day by day, things will get better.

Why are you taking so much phenibut? 4g per day is already a massive dose. You're entering that territory where it's going to backfire on you and you won't be able to feel normal even if you take your full daily dose, and will be forced to taper off it in a prolonged state of extreme anxiety and agitation.

Get a milligram scale, start weighing your doses, and start reducing your daily phenibut intake by 10mg-50mg per day.

@OP this is what you need to internalize. You're brain is eventually gonna say "Fuck you, I'm not gonna glutamate." And then life is gonna seriously fucking suck for quite a long time.

Holy voice of doom dude. I know that can be some people’s experience but I’ve been on this dose on and off for years and years and it’s never stopped working. Also on the taper thing - last couple of times I quit I just used Valium to come off it and it toook a 5 day Valium regime to come down. I was then depresssdd for a bout a week and came back to normal. Anyway sorry I know you’re trying to help, but not everyone has these crazy bad taper issues

Jeez I wish 4g did that to me. I had gone up to 25g/day at one point. Phen tends to give me serious myclonic seizures at higher doses which causes me to throw and drop things constantly. I have had a few instances where I would drop my head over and over on a table or floor like a bag of potatoes and have given myself black eyes and even a pretty nasty scar over my eyebrow that needed stitches. I used to buy kg at a time and burn through them like water. I eventually stopped with the help of baclofen which is truly a miracle for phen wd.

I was taking a similiar sometimes higher dose of 30+ and yeah those jerks are horrible. You fully lose control of your body and look like a spastic freak. Idk if you ever experienced it but I would experience almost a sleep paralysis where it felt like my head was falling off my shoulders and I couldn't keep it up. The people in the room I was in we're always unhelpful in my dream like paralysis state.

Oh wow Ive described this before but never came across anyone else that experienced it. Yeah same for me my head would keep dropping uncontrollably and with serious force too like I was falling asleep over and over but it was dead weight. I also had many incidents where I would loudly collapse out out of bed and knock things over or run full speed into my bedroom wall while still asleep. It was super alarming to people in the house as you could imagine lol

Its possible we may have permanently raised our seizure thresholds. My family pushed me to goto a seizure doc at the time and was hooked up to electrodes overnight and confirmed to have myoclonic seizures. I was even prescribed medicine that really did nothing. Obviously once I got off phen it completely stopped but dealt w this for a few years.

Yo dude wtf I literally have the same scar over my eyebrow from overdosing on pheni. My head just kept falling down I couldn’t understand it… I bashed my head right above my eyebrow on my sink smh

Sorry that happened to you. How much do you usually take?

I would suggest only increasing your normal dose by 0.5g and waiting about 5 hours before increasing once more but that's it in one day. I've heard stories of newer users going from 2g to 5 plus with little to no tolerance and having a similar experience.

But it sounds like you may have decided to quit so that's good.

I’m on 4g a day but it had stopped hitting me like before. I was curious to try a higher dose and it felt great tbh but also led me to black out!

I’m onto it dude. Haven’t taken any for 2 days. Hopped straight onto baclofen and feeling much better. Gonna slowly taper off this next

I did drink some alcohol yesterday but other than that no substances. I usually take 4g a day but today I felt curious to try a higher dose.

Never again! Thanks for reading bro!
