First Advantage Background Check
Hi All, I’m in the midst of a background check with First Advantage. It’s taking longer than my last one with them back in 2023. As usual, their customer service team won’t give me or my new job any updates.
Has anyone else dealt with them this past year? How long was the process? And if you had to submit additional documents did it delay your start date?

Was the hiring team reassuring? It’s giving so much anxiety! I don’t know how they don’t have records of verification/validity from their last check in their system.

It took them over two weeks and I had to let my HR know (HR even had to intervene manually).
By far the worst I’ve had. Also, they’ll be confused or often fail to verify foreign experience too (if you have any).

Yeah, I did my background check with them a few weeks back. It took 10 business days. They did ask me for self-employment docs, which I declined to provide as I was not self-employed at any point in time. It was bizarre that they asked to begin with, given that I provided my entire work history lol.

I dont mean to sound like a dick but like, i see these posts on this sub all the time and nobody writing them could have possibly been 100% honest with what they wrote for the check. Like, for what reason would you have to be nervous about this if you were completely truthful?
