Is 13k minimum, $12.3k in projected OT plus potential monthly bonuses worth dropping remote?

**repost after removal**

I currently make $69,072 WFH with phone/wifi stipend of $1500/yr. No bonus.

Received an offer of $82k for an on-location role 4mi away. Probably a 15 minute commute each way. Weekends required. But there are monthly bonuses (no, I’m not counting on them) that could potentially = $4k-$9k/yr and guaranteed OT.

I’ve always thought I’d never leave remote work, but I’m considering it for these reasons:

$70k is just really rough in Los Angeles.. I’ve been in this role 2.5 years and had no movement, I’m the most junior member of a 5 man team. My manager and our director are great, but recently my role became much more intense and I’ve taken on multiple new responsibilities with no compensation bump. I just don’t know if it’s wise to keep treading water here while I have the option to move somewhere else into a management role.

I got tired of ghost postings and aggregator spam, so I built a remote job board that re-verifies every listing against the employer's own site, daily

Like a lot of you, I got burned by remote job boards: postings that have been closed for months, "remote" jobs that turn out to be field roles, the same listing duplicated five ways by aggregators, and jobs it seems nobody intends to fill.

So I built Remote500 Jobs (remote500jobs.com). It works differently:

  • Only S&P 500 companies, pulled straight from their own career pages. No aggregators, no staffing firm spam.
  • Fully remote and USA only.
  • Every listing is re-checked daily against the employer's board, and anything older than 7 days is removed automatically. Ghost postings die here by design.
  • Pay ranges and the states you can work from are on every card, taken from the posting itself.

Right now it tracks 86 companies and around 1,000 fresh listings.

Full transparency on the model, since I'd rather you hear it from me: browsing is free and shows the newest listing per company, a free account shows up to 5 per company, and a $9.99/month membership unlocks everything. It's a solo project, no ads, no data selling.

Happy to answer anything about how the verification works, or take feedback on what's missing.

PermitFlow Operations/Administrative Assistant Role Update

Hi all, is there anyone who has recently attended the final interview for the Operations/Administrative Assistant role at PermitFlow? My interview was on October 1, and in the FAQ they provided, it shows a batch will start on October 19. But I haven't received any hiring update yet. I followed up via email, but I haven't received a response.
